Lovely spot to stay, we enjoyed two days in a cabin before a Sunday work function which was a family day with a band playing by the pool, swimming, mini-train ride and historic information, visited the turtle hospital, feed kangaroos by hand, and a fantastic afternoon with families from the workplace, ferry cruise is a short easy trip from mainland Gladstone read more

Good times on Q are fabulous events held regularly with different themes. A short boat trip from Gladstone. Fabulous hospitality and facilities. Devine food. Can't wait to head over for a whole weekend away read more

Hey Gladstone - 15 minutes across the water is Quoin Island Retreat. Tired of loud vehicle exhausts, roaring motorcycles, screaming kids and barking dogs? Take a break here. The rooms, food and drinks are a bit costly but worth it to escape the routine of Gladstone. Very polite and engaging staff personnel were always happy to assist during our stay. The meals were scrumptious and filling. The rooms and grounds were extraordinarily clean. The narrow gauge train that takes the guests from the dock to the hotel grounds is a real hoot. There is also a turtle sanctuary on the grounds along with a kangaroo mob and a large population of wallabies. read more

History

Established in 2012.

Quoin Island Retreat has seen many uses over the decades, continuously attracting a wide range of visitors, local and from afar, wanting to experience friendly hospitality in a peaceful island setting. In the late 90's, the property was abandoned by the then owners, left for 13 years, deteriorating under the elements. When the new owners purchased the island, the clean up and restoration was a mammoth task, taking almost 18 months before it was suitable for visitors once again. Quoin Island Retreat is a modern facility once again, waiting to delight all who visit.
