I took the vehicle back after a few weeks and insisted that the air conditioner was leaking. This time they found the leak and fixed it, but I did not get any credit towards repair from the previous bad diagnosis. I took the vehicle back recently for the still-leaking coolant system, but was told that it was not leaking initially (it has been leaking continuously) and that I would have to start over with another $140 pressure test to find the leak. Jessie is AMAZING! Preparing to leave to drive home I found…read morethat my sway bar link was gone on my driver's side. I had a five hour drive home and had to be at work the next evening. This is on a Thursday. Every shop I called said maybe Saturday or next week. I was panicking! I called Jessie and he kindly agreed to come out after his last job. He arrived around 8 p.m. I had already had my friends take me to get the necessary part. So I thought we were set. Upon removing my tire Jessie found that my wheel bearing hub was bad. He took the time to discuss with me what was wrong and that he recommended that it be replaced. He then agreed to keep working on removing the wheel hub while we ran to Auto Zone, which thankfully had the part in stock and is open late. He then replaced the part and had completed the other repair. It was then about 9:30. Then, despite the late hour and that he looked exhausted he took the time to talk to me about when I got home to make sure I checked the other tires for similar issues. That these things have a way of happening together. He was beyond professional and courteous. I then get the bill and am incredibly happy!! In my area shops usually charge $130 an hour. Jessie is incredibly reasonable. I got fantastic service by a qualified mechanic for a great rate! Plus, he saved the day and I was able to get home for work. I am beyond pleased! We got our Traverse (AWD) stuck in the sand on the beach b/c I was an idiot and undervalued the importance of clearance vs. 4WD/AWD. Long story short after bury the front end in the sand and digging to get out, the car was shaking violently at anything over 40 MPH. Clearly the tires needed rebalanced and possible alignment. All the shops on the island either wouldn't even take a look b/c "the job was too small" or they said it would be 1.5 weeks before they could get to it. We were leaving Friday to drive back to OH so we couldn't wait that long. Woody, John, etc. at Soundside are fantastic. They quoted the job right on point to industry norm prices (under $150 for full alignment, balancing, and removing a LOT of sand) and were understanding of the time constraints. They were off the island so it was a pretty long haul to get there (about $73 uber lyft ride), but well worth it. I highly recommend Soundside if you need car work in the Outer Banks area. Drove to OBX for fam vacation on Saturday and had a the engine light come on, we got to our…read moredestination and I saw a leak from the undercarriage. First thing Monday (the busiest day for all shops), I called and Tami got me in for Tuesday AM. I called around to other places but no one had any availability. Drove to drop off my Ford Expedition around 3pm and Chris happened to be there, he immediately asked what was going on and threw the truck up on the lift asap to diagnose the problem. I didn't have to wait until the next AM. He found the hole/tear in the transmission hose and called around to find the part. No luck on that in the area (friday was the earliest part delivery), he provided a faster solution of using another hose to replace and clamp the ends (our checkout was Thursday same week). We tried to get a Lyft back over the bridge but there weren't any drivers in the area, he volunteered to drive us back. Chris and Tami were so nice and went above and beyond with their kindness. Next day, Chris had a hard time finding the right hose (which he had to pickup himself) he didn't go the cheap route and ordered the better quality hose which he said was a racing quality hose. I wish he was closer to me in MD, I would go back to get all my work done by them.
