While they were here, they stated that one of my roof penetrations need new flashing . I gave them the okay to put new flashing on all my penetrations including the chimney. Six months later a water leak developed from my chimney. I contacted them and they stated that my entire chimney need to be rebuilt. I question that if the chimney was in that condition, why did the put new flashing on a bad chimney. They should of told me about this before they put the new flashing on. I called another contractor and he fixed the chimney and corrected a caulking problem from the flashing installation. The total cost was half of what I was quoted from the original contractor. I asked the owner secretary to try and explain to me why he would put flashing on a bad chimney. I asked his secretary ,would he put a new roof over rotten plywood . I requested to have the owner contact me, but he never called. I would give them five stars for the moss removal, but one star for the flashing. When I called about the leak,they came out the next day and put a tarp over the chimney to prevent any further damage.

From the beginning he gave me one quote and then said to go through insurance because it would be easier. This is my first time owning a home and boy was he wrong. I went through insurance just to find out after the roof was completed that he charges more if insurance is involved in order to get a bigger paycheck then what he would charge if it were in cash. That is not only unethical that is absolutely stealing from insurance companies. I asked him several times after I found this out if the price would differ if he I would've given him cash and he said yes. I explained multiple times that that is not right because it is the same exact job. He did not care. Waiting for insurance check to come in was a nightmare because they take forever. All Edwin did throughout the waiting period was call me or text me to see if the checks had arrived. I had to stop picking up his phone calls and text messages and ask him to stop calling me. DO NOT TRUST THIS MAN. He is basically a con-man with an LLC. I will reporting him to the Better Business Bureau for his lack of professionalism and unethical behaviors. He should not be in business. Ken took all of those issues into account when he gave us an estimate on the work. We knew we might have to wait for some materials to arrive, but once they did the work proceeded promptly. Given the size of the house and the influence of weather we were happy that everything moved along quickly. Two of our skylights were non-standard sizes and required special attention to detail, and a flatter portion of roof needed to be approached differently as well. When you only replace a roof every 25 years or so it's hard to know what to be watching for, but the finished product exceeded our expectations. We would definitely recommend KJN Restoration.
