I don't usually write reviews for service companies that we use at our storage facility, but I felt that I needed to this time. We recently called R & S Erection to work on one of our exit gates that wasn't opening all the way. They came out and worked on the gate for most of the day. When they were done, they came to me in the office and told me that a magnet had failed on the part that counts how many times the wheel spins to figure out if the gate is fully open or closed, I'm not really sure how this works, it's just what they told me. They also informed me that the part is no longer made and that they would have to replace the entire operator for the gate. I was quoted a price of over $17,000 to replace the operator and bring the gate up to code. We decided to call a few other companies to get a few more quotes. Another company came out and after a few minutes, returned to the office to tell me that they had repaired the gate, a control board was unplugged creating the problem. They only charged me for a service call and my gate was working. They saved us a very expensive and unnecessary repair cost. I just wanted to tell everyone my experience with R & S Erection. We have had a number of different companies work on our equipment over the years, depending on who had someone available that day to help us. R&S has always been the most expensive every time. read more

I do HOA Property Management and I have to give a huge shout-out to Luis Alvarez. He has come in and fixed some issues that a few of our communities were having with their gates. He really takes his time and he makes sure that everything is cleaned up and looks good . I hired this company who came out over a holiday weekend. I thought I was extremely lucky to get them. The guy came out, friendly. He just rewound a cable around a wheel and called it a day. He left, I got no receipt, no guarantee past 90 days. I work in Turlock where I caregive 24/7. I come home once a week. Time went by and sure enough, a few weeks after the guarantee expired, my door broke. $137.50 down the tubes. I get to meet with another representative today from another company. I hope I don't throw another $137.50 down the drain. 90 day guarantee does not seem like a lot for so much money. I don't understand how companies can get by with this but I don't recommend R + S Erection. Shoddy work right off the bat. Took him ten minutes and I got a sinking feeling when he finished so quickly. read more

Service guys came out to fix my roll up door, didn't bring any parts to actually fix it, took the tension off the springs and said they need to come back with a new shaft. Driving from Modesto to Sonora you think you would ask more questions to make sure you had everything on the truck to fix if. So they charge me 365 dollars and left. I then had to follow up to see where the quote was to actually fix it and when I got it the total was 894.92 dollars to replace the bent shaft. Barton door came and put a new shaft in for $170 and works perfect. Of course in the emails back and forth they insisted it is not there fault they didn't have the parts on the truck and would have cost the same amount wether they had them or not. So the total would have been $1259.92 and Barton door did it for $170. I don't recommend them at all call Barton door. read more

I can honestly say that R&S Tri County takes customer service to new levels and their competitors must suffer for it! We had an issue with our automated gate system that R&S installed originally back in 2010 or 2011 and our business. The system is now obsolete but works fine except when it doesn't. Called Paul, who I have worked with since the beginning, and he took it from there. Chet showed up today to try and solve our connectivity issue. Chet had us up and running in less than an hour. We can always count on Paul and Chet to solve our problems quickly and efficiently. Would recommend R&S to anyone who needs their services. read more

I called R & S late yesterday afternoon to ask for an appointment to check out my garage door. They scheduled an appointment for 8 a.m. to give me an estimate on the repair. Michael and his co worker were here on time. We have two dogs. One very large and one smaller dog. I let Michael into the house so he could access the garage. He was very good with my dogs and better yet, the dogs liked him. Good sign. They looked at the door and said this is easy, we will fix it while we are here. They spent about 15 to 20 minutes here, start to finish. Very polite, friendly as well as quick work and now my garage door works again. I am very impressed. We had R and S come out because our automatic gate was not opening. They charged us $270 for a diagnosis, they said it was the mother board and then gave us two quotes. One was to repair our gate for over $1600 and the other to replace it for over $6000. We had another company come out and fix our gate for $400 and it had nothing to do with the mother board. read more

Had my residential electric gate repaired by these guys. Christine at customer service is so polite and helpful. My appointmen5 was scheduled for 5he same day because their tech Matt was already in the area. Matt came right on time. He not only corrected the problem but programmed both my cars for remote gate operations even though I couldn't find the car manuals. They even provided me with a replacement key which I had lost. Had them put a fence with solar gate out at my house, after a few months the gate wouldn't open, they came out said they fixed it, few months go by, same thing. They came out again and said I didn't clean the solar panels well enough and it was my fault, So they had to replace the batteries, Few months go by and I made sure to clean the solar panels at least twice a week and sure enough gate wouldn't open, every time it's beeping, signaling low battery. I call back and now it's another reason they can't explain only now it's been over a year that they never fixed the original problem and now because it's over a year it's not "under warranty" I have to manually hook up a battery charger to my batteries to get my gate to open. I called a few times and always get the "let me check with my supervisor who's out today and call back" but never get a call back. I've only had this fence and gate for about 2 years and had them out about 5 times but i'll call another company out to fix what they couldn't read more
