I called my brother who lives close by to go and see what was happening. He sent them on their way after paying the 250.00 of course. The problem was never fixed. Afterwards, he told me the compressor was bad and quoted $1,500 to replace it. He even suggested I could get the part myself or let him buy one. The next business day, I decided to reach out to the manufacturer instead. They sent out an authorized dealer who properly diagnosed the issue. The compressor was completely fine--the real problem was the coil in the attic. Since it was under warranty, I only had to pay $550 for labor. The coil was replaced and my AC has been working perfectly ever since. What's worse, the technician from the manufacturer told me that my compressor had actually been overcharged with Freon--it never needed Freon in the first place, and he had to release the excess. If I had trusted "Arnold," I would have spent $1,500 on a compressor I didn't need and still had no working AC. Very disappointing experience. Be careful.
