The staff were happy to check to see if my O2 sim card would work with the orange phone. It did not work but that was useful to know and they tried to offer an alternative phone. When I got there, the very helpful guy on the desk said that the system wouldn't allow it to happen as a free change, as it was 6 weeks out of the 3 year exchange period, but he kindly did it for a reduced price. On returning home, I spent a very long time on the phone to apple support, who acknowledged that their site didn't mention time restrictions (and still doesn't!), but that I should have somehow known It anyway, and they refused to accept any blame. CTS did their best- Apple a bunch of lying cheats.

If you are already a O2 pay as you go sim card with credit, it is worth looking here as they let me get a new phone without a new sim card for cheaper. Another way to save money is to bring in an old phone to trade in, they will then take £10 off the price of your new phone and send the old one to charity. Although it can be quite busy the staff are friendly and I did not feel rushed. They may not be the cheapest but the staff are good.
