My family and I booked this venue for a Baby shower this month. From beginning to end the coordinator Sandra gave us the best service. Everything turned out more than we expected. We selected the color scheme and overall theme and left everything else up to the coordinator. The room was so beautiful, all of the guests were in awe with the decorations. The space was more than enough! We had room for a DJ, Photo booth, dancing floor, and plenty of tables. There are 3 bathroom stalls so there was never a line. The staff for the night was very attentive and made sure to ask if we needed anything. Jenny, was great also. The location was easy to find and had plenty of street parking. Let me start off by saying the place it self is great but management sucks ! We had a birthday party there for about 150 people and they gave us one bartender that pretty much hated her job. i understand it probably is a lot to tend to all these people with one bartender .. but that's not my problem. We paid to have a great time so for the bartender to be rude to my guest is unacceptable. it's not my fault management (Sandra) did not give the bartender any type of help. i definitely would not recommend this place to anyone. I will definitely keep the bartender in my prayers cause she definitely needs some blessings and a new attitude. The owner needs to fix her staff and learn how to hire people who actually treat people good! You have cameras and say "you know what went on in the party" but still don't realize how bad your staff are. They're so rude and don't know how to treat people. PEOPLE PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. Sandra will overcharge you and make you pay extra when you get there with "security fee". I advise you to not go here. They're so rude. No fights occurred at the party and everyone was behaving properly. Sandra is harassing all of us trying to take down my and my brother review from the party. But we're just being honest. She's getting angry because it's her family that she hires. People anyone looking to host a party i advise you strongly to not go here. Sandra needs to realize she needs new staff and don't hire her family and don't have a security guard that hit on guests and follow them around. I'm being honest with this review. This location was booked for a baby shower and canceled one day prior to the event due to a change in Covid restrictions. Manager is unwilling to work with customers on these restrictions. Beware!!! Beware!!! This business cares more about making their money then they do it's customers. Manager would not even meet us half way and was even willing to BREAK THE LAW and have the party anyway with they City's restrictions in place. We will be taking legal action. read more

I had the pleasure of having my wedding reception here at R Studios on a Friday evening and it was absolutely perfect. Sandra is amazing, from the time I put the deposit down up until it was time to get my deposit back, I had no issues. Sandra answered all of my texts thru the day and night with no issue. I never write reviews but this time I felt I had to. I went to an event last night and I see that a few people have reviewed this place from that night. The owner said she saw everything because the event hall had cameras. What did she see though? Did she see when I asked for a coke and the bartender yelled at me and said she wasn't serving more drinks when it was 1am? She said people cannot handle their liquor -- what about me? I'm pregnant so I clearly didn't drink that night. So Sandra as for protecting your reputation and your staff I understand. But you can't say you saw everything via cameras because you didn't hear what was going on. Your bartender was overwhelmed because she didn't have any help and took it out on the guests. Did you see when someone asked her for a drink and she stormed out for about 10 minutes? Did you see the security guard drinking? These people paid to have a good time. There were no fights. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. Your staff particularly your bartender needs to be retrained because she ruined and tainted everyone's view of your event hall. read more

I should've done this last year when we had our daughters 1st birthday and baptism. In any event, I can't say one negative thing about Sandra and her team. Our guests had an amazing time and the place looked spectacular. I don't know when we will be having another event like this one again but I am going to come back. Drove all the way down from Canada for an event that was being held there. I walked in and I was in Awh with the scenery, but as the night went on the staff was rude. I went to the bar to get a coke, the bartender ignored me. Then to top it off, she comes over and pushes my boyfriend and I to get away from the bar meanwhile we were just standing waiting for a drink we never received. I would not recommend this place because of the management, otherwise its beautiful. I didn't even get to enjoy myself because they were packing up as we are partying and eating, when we had a hour left that we paid for. read more

I had my 50th birthday celebration on Saturday, June 4th 2016 and was blown away by the overall experience. Everything was great, from beginning to end. I wish I could do it again. Sandra Tobar the Event and Sales Manager did a great job she was professional and dependable. She has a list of vendors at her disposal if needed and I highly recommend getting the ice from the vendor she provided. Due to her having a previous engagement she was not able to be present at my party, but the team she left in charged for that night was awesome. They were extremely professional and provided excellent quality customer service. A special thanks to Brianna who went above and beyond the call of duty. I met Gretta, Sandra's assistant earlier in the day and I was worry that she wouldn't be able to accomplish all that Sandra and I had spoken the past few weeks. I was wrong! NEVER AGAIN. I was invited to this hall for an 18th birthday and I have to say that the staff made the event unpleasant. I never felt so disrespected in an establishment before. I walked in to get a drink and the short girl behind the bar was rude beyond words. I cannot believe that I was spoken to so rudely. How on earth can the manager put such a rude person behind the bar? I was reading through the comments and I am NOT surprised that people wrote horrible things about R Studio's management. Instead of the owner putting her family to work events, they should hire professional people. From what I've heard, the hall was rented until 2 a.m. Why on earth did the staff start packing up and stop serving drinks at 1:15? I feel so sorry for the family because they were robbed of their time and money. Also, after reading the comments, the owner Sandra is doing nothing to remedy the situation. All she is saying that she has videos of what transpired through the night. That's great! She watched a party that went on from 9pm - 1am with no fights. So why was the party shut down so early? In common practice, if you rent a venue up to a certain time, you get to party for the entire time. You shouldn't have to pack up and get out by 2. I overheard the short bartender telling one of the hosts to "pack your shit and get out"... I couldn't believe it. All he asked was to extend the party for one more hour. The party was going great, no fights at all! Even the bouncer didn't feel threatened. He was by the bar for the most of the night drinking. I wonder if Sandra saw that on camera too? Moral of the story is, DO NOT BOOK THIS VENUE. Run as far away as possible if you can. THIS IS AN HONEST REVIEW. There are so many other venues in queens. Don't let their prices attract you. This space is really nice but unfortunately do to the employee behavior and the behavior of the event "manager" it really takes away from this place. When you pay to party to a certain time, from my experience with catering halls (I worked with an event planner) you party until that time comes AND THEN you pack your things up, help the staff if you are willing, call it a night and leave. As many encounters as I've had with bartenders, they never got frustrated and left in the middle of the party and refused to serve drinks anymore, shots and soft drinks. (they also smiled and had amazing energy, we didn't get that here) Security wasn't doing anything except scoping out women from the top of the steps (and he found a target by the way that happened to be a soon-to-be bride who was highly creeped out) He was also enjoying the liquor that was purchased by the customer (all and all for sharing but responsibilities first also how come he can get a drink but our guests can't? ). I also never encountered a place who did not go over their policies and procedures beforehand but made up policies as the night went on (you should hand out a packet with policies and procedures) The staff was overwhelmed, under trained and unprofessional. Yelp is a place to give honest reviews and unfortunately doing that on here causes people to receive backlash from the event "manager" who is not a mean person and I understand people have to defend their team but in this case it's best to admit the wrongs and move on instead of making up lies. The backlash and overly defensive responses to a previous customer should say a lot since we paid our hard earned money it's not like we had a free event. We paid and are disappointed in what we received. I'm not saying don't go here but if you do just document everything that goes on or hire someone to do it for you so you can at least have a good time. read more

The venue itself is beautiful. However, the staff is very unprofessional. The bartender was extremely rude, WE provided the liquor but at 1 she didn't have want to serve anyone. Mind you, we had the place until 2. There was a security guard there, but apparently he needed drinks in his system to operate so he helped himself to drinks at the bar. Oh, and he was following a girl around the venue the whole night. The bartender threatened to shut the party down several times -- when did she become the owner of the venue? There were no fights so there wasn't any reason to shut down the party. At 1, the bartender told us to "pack up our shit and go". We asked the bartender if we could pay for an extra hour and she said "no, you have to leave, pack up your shit and go." Everyone was having a good time but the staff ruined it. At 130 the DJ had to stop playing music and the staff was folding the tables and putting the chairs away. BUT WE HAD THE PLACE UNTIL 2. Only go to this venue if you want to get robbed of your time and your liquor. I would not recommend this place if you want to get your money's worth. read more

I celebrated my baby shower here. My husband and I were on a time crunch and were afraid of not finding a place on time. We were even more afraid when we booked it after it being the only party/event space we looked at, even with a recommendation from a family member. We went over packages and pricing and what would work best for what type of party we were having and the amount of guests we were expecting. The décor process was pretty similar with working around our budget and what theme and things we wanted to include. The experience with booking and following up was easy, hassle free. The end result was amazing. I explained my vision for the décor and was not disappointed. Sandra and her team understood what I wanted and delivered. Not only was the décor amazing but so was their service during the actual event. They were very attentive, organized and personable. Any question asked was answered with a smile and polite answer.
