My family was traveling to Myrtle Beach this past June when we noticed a noise with one of the…read morewheels. We were in Rowland, NC (about 1.5 hours from Myrtle) when this occurred. It was on a Saturday at 1:00 p.m. when most repair shops are closed. My wife looked online and found great reviews for Eugene's. She called him and we took the vehicle to his shop (only a few miles away). When we arrived, I told him where we were headed and he told me to take my family (5 kids and wife) back into town (an area called "South of the Border"), where there were shops that were air-conditioned and bring the vehicle back. I did and brought the vehicle back. He and his assistant, Orlando, found that it was a bad rear wheel bearing and brake pads. Unfortunately, the wheel bearing was seized on since the vehicle is a 2004 and the original part. It took power tools, hand tools, elbow grease, a torch, and finally a push/press device to remove the wheel bearing...after 3 hours of trying. I was impressed! I watched these guys work; never frustrated, just kept looking for a solution. What's more is they were supposed to be CLOSED. If you look at their hours online, they are closed on Saturday and Sunday. These guys worked on our vehicle all afternoon, with Eugene even going to the local parts store to grab the wheel bearing and pads. He did not overcharge (and certainly could have) for the work and not being opened...or he could have simply said that he was not open that day. Eugene is what I call a good ol' boy. He is truly a good man who enjoys helping people, and he told me that he has helped many people from all over the U.S. If you are in the area of Rowland and in need of emergency car service, give Eugene's a call. Got it back, all was good until the trans went out AGAIN. Took it back to him and it sat in his yard for a WEEK. That week came to an end and he called Chris telling him it wasn't the transmission. Told him to keep driving it. Last week it completely went out. He kept giving us the run around. Basically didn't want to fix it because he wasn't being paid! He told us he would look at it and IF it had something to do with his work he would fix it. We ended up having to have it towed somewhere else last week. The new place gets it and starts working on it. David used old parts out of an old transmission, he didn't even know what the trans came out of!!! Wasn't even the same year as Chris' truck. Admitted to us that the trans he used was OLD AS HELL. Sad thing is this isn't the first time he has shit people! All he had to say was "well we can learn from this". I had a near miss with a deer and ended up crashing into a tree…read more The next day, my insurance company called Tim to come pick up my car and tow it to my house. My fiance met him at the car, and Tim wouldn't even try to get under the car to hook it up. My fiance ended up having to get under the car and actually hook it up FOR him. When they got the car loaded, the damage looked far worse than we had originally thought, so Tim volunteered to take it to his yard. We agreed because we couldn't do anything with it at home. He told us that his yard was in Whiteville and that we needed to call the insurance company to let them know. So I called the insurance company, who ended up charging us an extra $272 because he took it to his yard instead of dropping it off at our house. He never said anything about us having to pay extra for it. And then the insurance company told me it was actually located in Tar Heel. It's been two days since the accident, and we drove out to go get my stuff out of my car. When we got there, he wasn't there but I called him and he said we could go on the property to get my stuff. While sorting through the stuff in my car, we discovered several things were missing, and Tim was the only person who would have had access to those items. So he lied to us, stole from us, and caused us to have to pay extra money that we should not have had to pay. Definitely do not recommend.
