RAC, I've noticed gets the shit end of the deal when it comes to delivering UPACK/ABF Freight. I received constant lies and misinformation from UPack. First, the pressured me not to contact RAC transport with my freight package and to solely go through UPACK. This is BS. If I didn't talk to RAC, I would have blamed them for all UPacks faults. 1) They would not give me the local carrier company information. 2) They said RAC will only deliver Monday and Wednesday. This is a lie. I called RAC and they could deliver m-f. Which is annoying when trying to plan a cross country move. 3) They said my UPACK will be at my house in 4-6 business days. Another lie. My freight reached RAC after roughly 8 business days. While confirming a speedy delivery and I'm still without my items. 4) When I called about my freight they said again not to contact RAC. And though I am still without my freight I've been in contact with RAC they proved with they care more about getting me my freight more then upack. So my advice to everyone, just call and be nice. They are a great help and solid communicators. If you work through your dilemma with them they will problem solve. So my advise before blasting RAC be civil and talk to them. If the employee seems disgruntled it's likely because you have little clue to the stresses you put on them with your disgruntled attitudes. The most dishonest, unreliable company one can imagine. The dishonesty along with just dropping my items off on the side of a busy road without first coming to my house was unbelievable. I waited home from 1-4 pm as I was asked, they never even tried to come to my home....but said they did. The worst part is I never signed saying I received my shipment....they just left it at road and didn't notify me it was there.....on the side of the road, a neighbor who couldn't believe told us. The follow up was just more dishonesty from drivers and staff who lack integrity. Sad! read more

RAC -The company that insists the customer should do the job for them. This Albuquerque branch of the company has quite the grift going on. They take money as well as your possessions from other carriers while they pose as a delivery service and refuse to deliver, holding your possessions hostage and forcing you to come up with a plan to make your own delivery. I've lived in the same house for over twenty years, and I've purchased many large items from furniture to appliances and beyond and RAC in Albuquerque is the only company that has ever failed to deliver a large item to my home, in fact they are the only company that has ever whined, complained or even suggested that a delivery can't be done. My advice if you are thinking of using them is to find a way around them, even if you need to spend more upfront, believe me when I tell you, it will cost you far less in both time and money at the end of the day. I would go so far as to urge any company you purchase a large item from to make sure RAC in Albuquerque never touches your items at any point in the delivery process. I would strongly recommend anyone needing delivery service to seek out professionals who know how to get the job done. I write this in the hope of preventing another person from hiring this company. I have moved/transported/shipped items hundreds of times in my life. I have never experienced anything as bad as this. I confirmed the pick-up of a 150 lb. crate twice during the week prior to pick-up date. We were 'scheduled' on pick-up day, but the crate wasn't picked up. We were promised a pick-up the next day, when we were again 'scheduled'. There was no pick-up. As I write this, I am in an airport, having left a small vacation town with a crate in the garage of a rental. At this point I have no way to transport it 2000 miles. read more

Would give zero stars if it were possible. RAC transport was to deliver bookcases I ordered from Costco. 4 promised delivery dates over at least 4 weeks before I received an actual delivery. No contact that delivery would not be made. No feedback from customer service as to why no delivery and when a new delivery date would be set up. When bookcases were delivered, driver just showed up at my house even though requested to call ahead of time. Cases were left on a smashed pallet. One had multiple dents to back panel and frame. When I called to convey this info, was transferred to claims department where no one picked up the phone. horrible customer service and attitude. read more

They can't find 2 pallets of batteries 3600 lbs. They told me early this morning, the delivery was #6, early afternoon delivery. I called in at 1:30 because I herd nothing. And I was told it was not out on delivery. In fact they have no idea of where it is at? And I have a crew waiting on site. Some one at RAC is liable because of the lies and deception of a customer service agent that had no idea of where it was and purposely lied to me. I can deal with all issues except being lied to. This company is pathetic. They lost my hot tub cover in one of their warehouses and can't find it. Are you kidding me?? It's not a small package. They made my hot tub service provider file a claim for the missing cover. We had to re-order a new cover from the manufacturer which has a 6 week backlog. I've had a lot of experience with this company in the last 17 years ... they always disappoint. They never bring the right truck the first time - they always need to come twice because large trucks cannot drive in our neighborhood - and items are always late. The truckers have gotten stuck in our neighborhood and needed to be towed out. When scheduling a delivery the company should ask if a semi-truck can deliver in the area. There are enough mountain properties in Colorado that they should know this. read more

I have had the misfortune of having to deal with this company twice in the last couple of months, because the places I bought the items from used them to transport the merchandise. The first time I waited and waited, and finally contacted the company I purchased the item from, and was told that it was supposed to be delivered by RAC. When I called them to find out where it was, they told me that didn't have my complete address. First off, why not? They are a delivery company, you would think they know how to make sure they have a complete address for delivery at the time they pick up the shipment. Secondly, by this time they had probably had it sitting in their warehouse here in Albuquerque for about a week. In that time, no one could have found the time to contact the company that shipped it (which certainly had my complete address) so they could find out where to deliver it? After giving them my address, they gave me a 4 hour window of time that I had to be home in order to receive it on the next day. Why should this be? You would think with all the modern tracking software out there, and the amount of data that they could have been collecting on the time it takes to deliver certain kinds of shipments, even whole truckloads of different items, to various parts of the city, that algorithms should be out there to allow them to narrow that window down to within a couple of hours, barring some major traffic snarl up. They did arrive on the dot of the very last minute of that four hour period. The second time, after finding out that the company had chosen RAC to transport my item (again, after allowing a good two weeks for it to show up), I called the Albuqueruque office, and was told my item was in the Denver warehouse, and that I would have to call them to find out where it was. When I called Denver, I got transferred to someone's voice mail. I left a message with the tracking number of the shipment and my phone number. No one called me back. The next day, I called again and finally got to talk to someone, who told me "I'm sorry, we can't find your shipment right now. We'll call you back when we do." No call back that day. The next day, someone from the Albuquerque office called me to tell me that they could bring it to me the next day, this time giving me a five hour window, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. That next day, I was involved doing something, and suddenly realized it was about 4:30 p.m. and the shipment hadn't shown up. I called again. After being put on hold for a good 5 minutes, the guy tells me "I tried to get hold of the driver, but I can't reach him. I'll call you back when I do." No call back. So when I call again the next day, I was told that the reason my shipment didn't arrive the day before was that the trailer carrying it had broken down during the day. So if that really happened, I would think that the very first thing the driver would do after finding a safe place to pull off the road would be to call dispatch and tell them. And then there should be an easy way to flag every single order that was in that trailer so that anyone wanting to know where something was that was in that trailer could look up the tracking number and say "Oh, it's on the trailer that broke down." And then, the company would have the decency to call all of the customers that were told their shipment would arrive that day and apologize that it wasn't coming after all due to the breakdown. But not the people at RAC. They apparently haven't figured out how to do such basic things in their tracking software and obviously don't care if they have 15 to 30 customers all waiting in vain throughout their riduculously long 5 hour window to have to wait. If you're keeping track, that's 5 phone calls I have had to make, 3 phone calls that should have been returned and weren't, and 5 additional days gone by since I first contacted them (not including a weekend in there, so actually a whole extra week). And because of needing to have a four hour window for me to be home to receive it, and the fact that I had plans to be out most of the afternoon on the Friday they told me they could make the second delivery attempt, we have to allow another 3 days to go by until Monday, when I can be home to hopefully actually receive this package, which will be about 4 weeks after I ordered it. My combines broke down and I was desperate to receive my parts on Friday. I picked a window from 11 until one and which they didn't show up. I called them on Monday and they claimed again they were going to deliver it but didn't. On Tuesday I drove two hours to pick up my parts. After waiting for half an hour the skid loader driverSlam into my truck not once but twice because his tires were bald. He tried to blame it on the area that I parked which is where I was directed to. When I said don't blame your error on me he swore at me answer me whatever. If the system would allow a 0, I would give them a 0. I purchased a dishwasher from Home Depot and was told the date it was to be delivered. It was not delivered. I was told it was because the shipment did not come on the truck but would be there 3 days later. Three days later, still no delivery. I called only to be told that the item must be on backorder because it was not delivered on their truck. I called HD and they had no knowledge of the dishwasher on backorder. So now I have taken 2 days off to be home to have the appliance delivered. Fast forward and 2 weeks later I am told that they have located the product and they want to set up another delivery date which will not work for me. I ask for several other dates and they tell me that the earliest they can deliver is almost 3 weeks away. When I ask if there is anything earlier, the man was so rude and says, "I told you what dates we have available." Great customer service.....NOT! So we set that up to be delivered in the morning, which 3 days prior to delivery I received a text that delivery is between 4p-8p. Once again, we will not be available that evening. So I call to reschedule. They tell me that I am not allowed to reschedule because they have had the product over 30 days. So I look at my log and it has not been 30 days since they "located" the dishwasher. Because they say the call is being recorded, I ask 3 times... So you are telling me that I am not able to reschedule delivery. Each time I am told no. So I say, well if no one is home to accept the delivery, what will happen then because I am telling you no one will be available that day. "Jessica" says, you cannot reschedule. I ask, then what will you do, leave it on my front porch without my signature of acceptance? Jessica hung up on me. I tried called back 2x and no one answered. Ultimately because of the poor service and rudeness of this company, I called HD and canceled the order completely. I explained to HD that they might want to look at other options for delivery based on the lack of customer service and shadiness of the situation. read more

Hard to understand how this company stays in business. Bad service, incompetent office staff, Rude drivers. I am a general contractor. Over the years they have lost track of of my goods, damaged our goods , the drivers are typically rude and in helpful. yesterday the delivery guy damaged a corner finished corner in a house nearly completed. When my supervisor complained to his boss he was told "too bad , our problem" if we complain more they will charge us extra for moving the delivery away from the truck. read more

RAC transport is truly the bottom of the barrel of LTL carriers. When a carrier tells me they partner with RAC, I keep it moving and look elsewhere. If you have 6 months for your skid to travel - fine use them. Assuming it doesn't get lost first it might arrive in one piece. If however you need it to get there within 6 months, pass on this one. I'm just trying to save you time and money. To be clear - this is not a "understaffed due to COVID" issue. They have been awful since I have been in the LTL business since 2012. read more

My first and only ever experience I had with this company (because I won't ever hire them again) was not pleasant to say the least. I actually did not hire them. I originally hired a moving company to move my belongings from Orlando, FL to a storage unit in Carbondale, CO. The moving company then hired a shipping company because they decided 2 weeks after picking my stuff up they couldn't drive it all the way. The shipping company used RAC Transport to bring my stuff from Basalt to my storage unit (or from Denver to Carbondale, I don't know because not much was communicated to me). I watched for weeks to see where my stuff was. Once it was ready to be delivered, I was supposed to get a call to set up a time for me to meet the people. I never got this call. The shipping company tried to call RAC Transport to help me and they couldn't get hold of them. They gave me the number to call too. So I called and no answer. I finally got hold of a lady the next morning. She is apparently their office person. She told me they were supposed to call me to schedule. I told her my stuff has been there for 2 days and no one has called me. She then checked on it and said it is because the truck my stuff was on was broken, the back door was broken. They needed to fix it and then would call me to schedule a time. They did not call by later that afternoon. At this point I was in New Teacher Orientation, I couldn't keep calling. My sister called for me. She got through to a driver manager. He told her the truck was not broken. He was rude with my sister and tried to blame the stuff not being delivered on me. My sister informed him of what the lady had told me and how they were to call and schedule the time. I had been calling to try to get my stuff mind you. My sister yelled, threatened to call the police because they were stealing my stuff. They finally scheduled a time for the next morning, first appointment. My sister got there early in case something were to happen. They came (late). The two guys who delivered were nice to my sister. They took the stuff of the truck and put it in my storage unit. My sister checked my stuff and asked about my bike. They said they never saw one. I finally got to my stuff and guess what, boxes were smashed, no bike, 2 black IKEA shelves were missing, my 6 milk crates and a box were missing. Then come to find out, once I start opening my boxes, my jewelry armoire was completely destroyed. $700-$800 worth of stuff lost and broken. I am not saying they did it, but one if not more than one of the three companies who had their hands on my stuff did break and steal/lose my stuff. I am writing them this review because it was bad customer service. I should not have to call repeatedly, get lied to, and have to threaten with the police to get my stuff. They were paid, I did my job, it was their turn to do theirs. I would never recommend this company or hire them ever again! read more

He just piled the smashed pallet and my $4,000 crushed order in front of the door and left. They scheduled a delivery. I drove an hour to the house (I don't live there, we are in the process of moving). Sat at the house for 10 hours. No one called (they were supposed to call when 45 minutes out). I finally gave up at 7pm and drove the hour home in the dark through crappy weather. This am I called and was told the driver couldn't make it to my house. No explanation of why no one called me, and they told me I'd need to go meet the driver somewhere with my own truck, or they could ship my bed back to the seller. No apologies. After repeated demands that they figure out a way to make it right, the manager assured me that the bed would be on a truck for delivery Monday (they don't work weekends). I'll update if that happens. In the meantime, my uncle, who is to stay at the house tonight, will be sleeping on the floor I guess. read more

I have had the same experience as many of the people in these reviews. We have been waiting for a delivery and a phone call from them when there an hour away. Window between 1 and 5 for delivery. It's now 9:30 at night and still no call. To call these people is a joke last call I made no answer. At one point they told me it was delivered. Then the next time the driver was having problems it would be delivered at 7:00pm that didn't happen. And let the driver show up with an attitude and he will see attitude. Before you order any packages find out if RAC is delivering and refuse the package. I have ordered many packages and never ever been treated like this or had any problems till now. This company sucks. I've had 3 items delivered from them - a plasma TV, arrived shatttered, entertainment center arrived splintered, doors ripped from their hinges, shelves broken, and then a steel gun safe. How do you damage a steel gun safe? Good question. The only way is to drop it on the combination dial on the door and RAC managed to do just that. 100% failure rate and now I'm stuck with them again. Latest item was supposed to arrive last week but has been sitting in Denver for the past four days without moving. Now I may have to drive 300+ miles because of their abject incompetence. read more

I had materials that were shipped to me from western Washington. They were carried by Reddaway to Denver (1300 miles) in 4 days, where the goods were transferred to RAC Transport. I was able to use the PRO# to track the shipment on the Reddaway website to Denver, but unable to use the same number to track the shipment on the RAC website from Denver to my location...a distance of less than 500 miles. I called RAC 3 days after they received the goods, and after finally being connected to someone that could locate my order, I was told it was in Trinidad, CO...200 miles from Denver and 250 miles from my location. No word on the order after that, so I called again, now 7 days after RAC received the goods, and THEY CANNOT LOCATE THE ORDER! I could have driven to Denver and picked up the order myself and had it to my home in less than 48 hours. I think RAC stands for "Really Awful Carrier". read more

Horrible horrible service! They received my shipment on a Wednesday and it's Friday and they claim its on the "dock"! When asking when it will be delivered they had no answer. Stating they still don't know if they have the package and that its on the dock to be checked in, yet just told me they relieved it on Wednesday. I spoke to the manager and yet he couldn't get his excuses right when blowing smoke up my rear about where my package is at. First its on the dock and they received it on Wednesday, then he changes the story to state they need to verify that the package is on the dock. Wait!!!! Didn't he just say they received it?! My experience with this shipping company has been a nuisance! When you ship with this company expect your shipment to never meet its destination on time! If you run a company and use them, expect angry clients because your shipment never came in on time! They will deliver when it's at their convenience. Or maybe when they check it in from their so called "DOCK" haahaaa such a joke for a company.
