RaceTrac matters. I appreciate them just as I do law enforcement. I understand that may be taking it a little far but their service matters too. Essen, Coursey and Highland Rd locations especially lately are always clean and associates are friendly. If the see you are down and out, they sometimes allow you a hot coffee. Easily accessible. Close to exit ramps for I-10. Well lit, reasonable gas prices (like $0.10 to $0.25 cheaper than nearby stations), clean inside and out. After a super early morning wake up call for my brother's surgery, I was desperate for a cup of coffee. Only problem was that it was 5 AM and the coffee shops don't open until 6. What's a girl to do?!? Go to the 24 hour RaceTrac with absolutely no expectations. That's what she does! Y'all. I was amazed. It's been a hot minute since I've been in a RaceTrac and at this point in my boujee coffee addiction, I'm kicking myself in the rear. I wish I had gotten a picture of all the varieties of coffees in there. There were probably 5 coffee grinder machines with atleast 3 different hoppers full of beans on top. Everything from dark roast to Guatemalan to flavored brews, it was all there. The fixin's were just as awesome! Creamers, almond milk creamer, flavored kinds, raw sugar, artificial sweeteners, mini marshmallows, whipped cream, the whole 9. I was way overwhelmed, but in a good way! My advice to y'all...stop paying $6 for boujee coffee and opt for $1.50 boujee coffee at the RaceTrac instead! And! Someone had their own cup and they offered a discount for it! I don't typically go out of my way to review convenience stores but I have a daily long commute and I make a point to gas up and grab my beverages here, quite simply because the ladies working the early shift are lovely, smart, and kind. Worst customer service ever!! I walked in and asked where the nachos were located in the stores and the attendant pointed to the back of the store. Once I found the nacho machine it was out of cheese, both attendants were very rude! The gas is cheap but don't expect much more. read more

This is a first time thing for me I have never did a review on gas station food but stopped by today. They have just reopened I think they burned down was closed for many months. Stopped because my grandsons loves their Cajun boiled peanuts, I smelled something yummy I looked over and saw HOT TAMALES they not only smelled yummy but looked yummy. Lots of meat and a small amount of Mesa and they had 2 choices, shredded pork or shredded chicken with habanero peppers price 2 for $2.50 I bought 1 of each. They were both so flavorful and fresh tasting. They pork was my favorite only because the chicken habanero had a fiery heat not crazy overpowering it would of been my moms favorite. I say if u want a tamale on the go or you wanna stop and pick up some for supper this is the place to get them. I'm gonna get a half dozen next time and make some Mexican sides and supper is ready. It's always closed at around 2am-5am on occasion when employees don't show up for work, a sign gets put up on the door and it states we cannot open until we have more than 1 person here and I live next door so I check back and it remains closed that whole shift, and so I changed my daily store to Seigen Lane store. Also it always has a really dirty parking lot and whichever manager was recently hired, really sucks!! Must not know how to manage, I run a business and I am the only boss and I keep my employees in line and happy and my parking lot is always clean & I brought my store from making $20,000 a month when I took over to $60,000 in 2 months, and its a very small business, nothing as big as racetrac. So maybe this Racetrac needs a new/better manager!! Oh and the employees here are not friendly like the other Racetracs in Baton Rouge, the new one on Airline hwy/ Tom Dr. has straight up A-holes working in that one!! read more
