My voice was "ok," I could hold a note, but it was very limited. I chose Sophia based on all the superlative Yelp reviews she has received over the years. These have been borne out in spades by my experience working with her. I've now had over a year of weekly lessons and my voice has improved significantly. It has a wider range, more depth and fullness, and an overall better sound. Sophia is a teacher par excellence. I come away from each lesson inspired and encouraged. I am frequently awed by her extraordinary intelligence and ability to explain various concepts and techniques in concrete, easy-to-understand terms. She employs different modalities such as visualizations, catch phrases, or simple concrete directions about how to breathe, move my mouth, place my tongue, and adjust my posture to aid in my learning, which I find very effective. She is incredibly articulate, and I can tell she is able to readily adapt her explanations and approaches to the student's individual learning style and stage of learning. Indeed, she is never at a loss for words that effectively convey whatever she intends to communicate to the student. Moreover, Sophia is kind, patient, charming, and dynamic. I've felt at ease with her from the outset. It is obvious she truly cares about the student's learning and progress, and that she is passionate about teaching voice. In short, Sophia is a first-rate teacher, among the best of many I've had in my life, from elementary through graduate school. I have no doubt she would be a well-regarded teacher at the finest conservatories. Thank you Sophia!

I stopped lessons a while ago due to my own scheduling conflicts, but I still hope to restart one day--I miss working with her! Shari is not only highly trained professional vocal coach but also an all-around wonderful person. She has a unique ability to connect with her students, no matter their skill level. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced singer, Shari meets you where you are and helps you grow in ways you didn't think possible. Her lessons are thoughtfully tailored to your goals, style, and voice, and the improvements I saw in my singing were incredible - several of my friends even commented on it. Shari's guidance had such a noticeable impact on the quality of my voice, and every session with her was the highlight of my week. She's patient, supportive, and so encouraging. If you're looking for a vocal coach who is knowledgeable, approachable, and passionate about singing and vocal performance, Shari is the one. I cannot recommend her enough!

Shari is not just guiding her singing, but teaching her about the science behind singing and music theory, empowering my daughter with knowledge beyond just "sing it like this." She's also very kind and patient, she treats my daughter like a colleague, not a kid. We love her, you will too!

All of a sudden, looking down at them, he was 15 once more. He was in the M1 building of his high school, singing with his choir mates, beaming at the choir teacher in unison. He doesn't just remember it, for he is fully there in the moment, in person, breathing the very air. AGC brings all lovers of choir and singing back to those sort of nostalgic days. People who have been a part of formal singing and still actively pursue it, know that music will always be a part of their lives. It's everlasting and doesn't disappoint. "Shortly before my 16th birthday, that lucky star called choir, was due," Charles began. "Even in the darkness, even in the night, it showed me the neverending gift that circles back again: Singing." He peered onward, a slight smile on his face as he spoke. "Some years later, I discovered Ellen's fabulous Anything Goes Chorus (AGC)." "Ellen makes singing possible in her SATB-style choir, which was something I was a part of in high school, something I've been deeply fond of and always missed. It's a place of belonging....a place that provides meaning. A place where you can walk on with hope in your heart. A place of connecting."

Playing guitar is in my zone, but I am not a trained singer; hence, I started searching for singing coaches on the Internet. I found HEATHERVOX. She had a lot of positive reviews; hence, I scheduled a session with her; and, I am so happy I did. - She has a beautiful singing voice; and, she immediately assessed my singing competency baseline. - She immediately started me on vocal techniques that quickly controlled the movement of my neck, mouth, and vocal cords. Most importantly, she taught me the importance of relaxing the vocal cords throughout the octaves. - After 40 minutes of teaching proper singing techniques and using the techniques she taught me going up and down scales, it was time to apply the techniques to a song. - I sang, Here Comes The Sun, by the Beatles; and, I was amazed -- I immediately noticed the improvement in my singing -- now, don't get me wrong, it wasn't just "add boiling water and instant noodles" kind-of- thing, but it was a drastic and noticeable improvement in my singing voice. I still have a lot of work and practice to do. Now, I have more controlled volume, my voice is more robust, colorful, and dimensional, AND I am able to hit higher notes easier without strain. I was also amazed with the added tone quality Heather gave me through her singing techniques. Heather recorded my session; hence, I have a starting baseline of my singing voice. I can track my progress. I also have recordings of the techniques she taught me; so, I can replicate them while doing my homework. I have 6 months from today, 23-January-2025, to get my singing skills on-point; hence, I am 100% certain, working with Heather, will get me to my goal. I scheduled additional appointments with her, and she gave me homework and exercises to work on before my next session. I really enjoy the straw exercise -- extremely helpful. Finally, I like that Heather has good business ethics. She assessed my progress and gave me a class schedule that matched her forecast of my progress within the 6 months -- she didn't try to sell me more lessons than I needed. I'm very happy working with Heather to get me to my singing goals for this feature film. Check 6! /s/ Alfonso Faustino
