That didn't make sense to us. If you've genuinely won a free portrait session, there shouldn't be such a large upfront payment required. We don't have a credit card, so we couldn't proceed anyway, but the constant pressure to book and pay the deposit made us uncomfortable. As a refugee family starting over in the U.S., $200 is a significant amount of money, so we decided not to take the risk. After reading other reviews describing similar experiences, we felt we made the right decision. I'm not saying everyone will have the same experience, but I encourage others to read the reviews carefully, ask questions, and make sure they fully understand any costs before agreeing to anything.
