Rachel Michaelsen is a Cat Whisperer! This is a new epiphany for me. I have known Rachel for several years and have benefited significantly from the energy psychology practices she teaches and uses therapeutically - with me, a human. But last week, she paid a home visit to tend to my elderly, 19-year-old cat, who has kept us up nights yowling for many months. Recognizing that old cats have medical problems, I took her to my wonderful, holistic vet (Dr. Anne Reid - but that will be another Yelp) and was offered a variety of medications for the arthritis, tummy trouble, and restless nighttime behavior that has been haunting us all. We found mild relief, but Kismet still suffered significant discomfort. The yowling was tormenting our entire household and concerned me, as I don't want any of us - and especially not my dear kitty - to suffer. Enter Rachel and her healing touch. Using some of the same techniques she has taught me (including Emotional Freedom Therapy - aka Tapping), Rachel approached Kizzie with kind respect, honoring her space, and a gentle touch. She quickly sensed blockages along her spine and intuited that Kizzie was having difficulty accepting the ravages of her age. Rachel worked with her to clear the blocked energy, as well as her resistance to her own decline. Neither Rachel nor I knew if her efforts would be successful. But I'm happy to report that Kizzie is a much happier, calmer cat - one who sleeps at night, speaks to us in a normal tone of voice (no more crabby yowling), and is no longer so prickly and reactive to the world around her. We're not sure how long the cure will last. It's been nearly a week, though, and we are all sleeping well again. Rachel, we thank you, our cat thanks you, and our friends and colleagues - who no longer have to contend with our sleep deprivation - also thank you! read more
