Use google maps!…read more They could be more technically savvy which would help considering they had a "sold out" sign but upon checking actually had two bikes, so definitely ask as they don't keep inventory well. Our bike was great, no issues, got us to and from Siena in 95 (40) degree heat no problem. Another issue, they have waaaay more bike rentals than GPS, so you might have to jerry-rig your phone to the bike like we did. Definitely would be a five star if the gear wasn't so gross. My husbands helmet stunk terribly and even the removable/washable pads were unclean. We lysoled it and wiped it out, it turned the towel black/brown, so nasty. The gloves were also disgusting. The jackets don't even have a spine protector.

My fiancé and I have never operated a Vespa before and we decided to walk into Florence Station rental at 5pm to book a Vespa for a few hours. Lucky for us, there was one Vespa available and we were able to use it despite the shop closing at 5:30pm! Yuri (I believe this is the owner's name) was very accommodating and generally just great to work with. His English is excellent since he has a wife and child living in Hawaii, he's also visited California (my home state) multiple times. Since it was our first time on a Vespa, he made sure to get us comfortable with using the vehicle by teaching my fiancé and riding with him around the block! His instructions were fantastic. Honestly, the streets of Florence are kind of scary to drive around in, especially during rush hour traffic. Yuri gave us a route and a map that we can follow and basic traffic instructions. Luckily, my fiancé is tall and was able to operate the Vespa smoothly. A tip from me is to book a Vespa early in the day (or online). This shop is popular and vehicles may not be available. The countryside is better to be traveled early in the day when there is still light out. The shop does close at 5:30pm so any rentals late in the day will be charged "sunset pricing" but keys can still be return after the shop closes via a special "key hole" in the gate.

The Vespa scooters are in great condition and come in different ccs. My husband and I enjoyed a 125 which had plenty of power. Make sure to have your passport, drivers license and a credit card for deposit. Call if you have questions-- they are very helpful. I would recommend mapping out your route prior to use, as the streets, restrictions and pedestrian areas can be daunting. However the GPS they provide come with programmed routes in case you'd like to take their suggestions on sites to see.

I went to Prague, EuroTrip (Spain, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium) and Budapest/Salzburg/Vienna Originally I had booked France instead of Prague, but unfortunately It was canceled due to low booking, but they offered me a bunch of different options and different weekends to travel. I decided to go to Prague after looking at the website and it was one of the best decisions I made during my study abroad time. Prague was and IS now one of my absolute favorite places to visit. The hotel we stayed in was super nice and clean, and super close to the city center. Smart Trip really makes sure that their accommodations are in the best possible spot for the quality and price. All of the hostels and hotels I stayed in with them on my trips were amazing and typically had super cool amenities or other attractions inside of them. Each of the locations that we went included a walking tour with a local guide which was also super enjoyable and all of the smart trip leaders were super nice and helpful! Smart Trips staff member had norovirus on the bus on the way to Croatia and got many students sick,…read moreincluding myself. I ended up in the hospital in Croatia the whole weekend and paid $400 for medical care. The doctors said this happens often with Smart Trips. No staff member could assist me to the hospital or checked in on me the whole weekend. All I got was a hope you feel better. I had booked $100 tour that I couldn't attend and was not reimbursed for. Because so many students got sick they cancelled all of the Sunday events and took us straight back to Florence. They forced all the sick students to sit in the back of the bus wearing masks for the 12 hour drive back. it was a miserable weekend. When we returned, I emailed Smart Trips my experience and tried to call them but they never responded. my roommates and others I spoke to didn't enjoy their trips they booked through them either. the bus rides are long and uncomfortable, the hostels are always far away from the cities/attractions you are visiting which ends up costing a lot of extra $ for transportation, and the extra activities aren't worth the price.
