Everything else in the room was great, especially the bar soap here! I'd buy it for home if I could. The decor was awesome. The theme of music resonates through the halls and rooms and even the cool guitar shaped sinks in the public rest rooms. I read a bit about the history of the area and things about Elvis, The Rolling Stones, and a few other bands... Juggalos may be disappointed as I didn't see any of their fans or Faygo Pop anywhere. I must have been on the VIP list as my room was upgraded and I had a bonus room where I could have had some parties or meetings or party meetings (I like combining them). Sadly, I wasn't prepared and just sat in there by myself for a while feeling good about myself. If you're here for a conference, please understand there will be quite the walk to the conference center. I was there in the heat so I opted to drive to the conference area so I wouldn't get all sweaty... I saved that for after! There are some cool views of the dam and the surrounding areas, so make sure you head to the tower and check it out. For a roadside Days Inn motel, this location exceeded expectations. It got off to a slightly rocky start through no real fault of theirs as I arrived early for an event in town that started at 3 pm on a Saturday and I wanted to catch an uber from the parking lot. My hopes were to check in a tad bit early, settle in, and call that Uber. I had messaged this location from the app (Expedia) I booked them, then when not receiving a response I tried to call them for days leading up to my booking but never received a response. When I arrived they told me they had no rooms available early; and though I'd booked two nights one was through Expedia and one was direct w/ the hotel, so I was briefly in the position of needing to transfer rooms between nights (ultimately I was able to maintain my room). I also wasn't able to check my bags (no process for that), so had to keep them in my car while I caught my ride to the event. Now--that mess out of the way--from the moment I checked in late Saturday night until I left on Monday, I was more than satisfied with my stay. The rooms were CLEAN, QUIET, and up to date. The beds were comfortable, water pressure strong (and water hot), in room coffee pot stocked, fridge cold, etc. There was a Netflix and wifi ability for a cable TV with plenty of channels. Food delivery nearby. Plenty of parking. Decent complimentary breakfast and workout room. Prices very inexpensive. I haven't paid this little for a room in some time, and I've dealt with far less amenities in much higher costing hotels. I'd definitely consider staying here next time I'm in the Shoals.
