But once you take your shower it becomes a tropical humid cave :-) I liked the little rooftop terrace pool jacuzzi area, but a bar up there would have been perfect. Pleasant staff, even in the very early hours of the morning they can recommend a place that has a good after party :-)

Subur is an older tourist class hotel with small rooms, but I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the room and an updated bathroom. My room had a balcony with a small table and 2 chairs with partial sea view. I kept the balcony doors open for sea breezes and never used the A/C. The mini fridge was convenient. The hotel is on the corner of Passiag de La Ribera and C/ de la Bassa-Rodona, so many rooms with balconies face the beach and sea directly across the Malecon. The front staff are friendly and accommodating. Huge beautiful beach towels rent for 2,50€. If you don't return it they charge 5€ (which I actually thought might be worth keeping, but I didn't want to add to my luggage haha). The hotel restaurant is Sitges Sports Bar and didn't look like anything special with burger types and salads. The breakfast buffet also didn't look all that great for the € so I skipped it. I prefer a hotel with a pool, but if staying on my own and headed to the beach anyway, I'd probably come back to Hotel Subur. A pretty good value.

The room was quite large, with 2 large, single beds, a desk, a small fridge, drawers and hanging space for my clothes and a safe. The bathroom was small and only had a (powerful) shower, but for most people this will be fine. The room's air con was good, but even in mid-August, it wasn't needed. There's no view from the room's window, it looks in a light well, but it's bright enough. The room was extremely clean, the bed linen was good quality and it was very quiet. The location is very central to the main bars and restaurants, but as the room didn't look out on to the street, there was no noise. Check in was quick and efficient. The hotel is partly above a sports bar, but it doesn't stay open late so noise wasn't an issue. This bar / restaurant is also the hotel's breakfast area. It served the usual mixture of croissants, juices, cereals, eggs, bacon, ham, cheese and small cakes, all good quality and fresh. The hotel is around a 10 minute walk to the train station, there are lots of bars and restaurants within 2 or 3 minutes and you can be on the beach in less than a minute of leaving the property. The reception area feels modern and looks smart, the corridors leading to the rooms don't look and feel quite so smart but will be fine for most people. All staff were helpful and cheerful. I'd have no hesitation in staying here again.

Th hotel does serve breakfast but we didn't eat any because you can grab a little bite for much cheaper from the corner cafes. The beds on the hotel are okay and they're small but that's pretty standard for European hotels. The bathroom was very tiny and it had a toilet and a bidet. They provided you with some lotion, shower cap and shampoo. For the Americans traveling, reme6to being wash cloths because European hotels do not provide them.

They have a microwave to warm frozen stuffs. They serve breakfast only, that is 11 euro, u have to tell front desk day before so that u get the 11 euro price else it's little expensive. Their breakfast was good but with that value you will find good breakfast in the neighbourhood. There are lots of cafes and restaurants Around. Metro is about 7 mins walk from the hotel. Pretty decent place to stay.

We booked a double bed room and received one on the top floor, so the outdoor patio was rooftop. Down side is that the elevator stops one floor below, so we had to walk the final flight. Room includes a small refrigerator (not mentioned on website) and shower gel. You need 25E cash for the safe key deposit. The staff was very patient with our basic Spanish and helpful with advice on public transportation, SIM card purchase, and adjusting to Barcelona.

I splurged a little on Hotel Condes de Barcelona, but I could not have been more pleased with the hotel, the location, the amenities, and the friendly service. They had sent me an email with an offer of a car transfer from the port, and they have a secure luggage storage room for our bags. The doorman was charming. The hotel is in a perfect location. We felt very safe exploring from there. We walked back after our tour of La Sagrada. Check in is early (2:00 pm) and checkout was relatively late (noon). When we checked in, they provided two complimentary drink tickets for the Alaire, the rooftop bar (I had already planned to go there to see the views). Our room, overlooking the Passeig de Gracia, was quite spacious by European standards. The bathroom was gorgeous. Everything was immaculate. The bed was quite large and very comfortable. After enjoying our drink on the roof, we checked out the pool. It is a smaller infinity pool, but very private and lovely. We did not swim only because we were tired. For dinner, we walked just a block or so over to Las Ramblas for tapas. It was a memorable stay and a wonderful introduction to Barcelona.

At first, there were only a few ants, despite the windows being closed and the room being "clean." We killed the ones we saw upon entering and then we left to explore Barcelona for the day. After hours of being out and being exhausted from an overnight flight, all we wanted to do was come back and sleep. Instead we came back to THOUSANDS of ants in every crevice of our room and in every part of our bags/luggage. They were in our bed sheets, in our bathroom, in every single pocket and fold of all of our luggage. It was DISGUSTING. We complained to the front desk (it was midnight) and they said they would switch our room. I requested housekeeping be sent to our room to help us remove the ants from our bags and help bring our stuff into the new room. The housekeeping lady came in and told us it was too big of a mess to clean without help. Then she left us in the room to fend for ourselves! So we spent over an hour removing every single thing out of our bags, shaking the ants out, and then repacking. Ultimately we had to clean and take the stuff to the next room ourselves. As you can imagine, this ruined our entire stay in Barcelona. We were so worked up and grossed out that the sleep we so desperately looked forward to was ruined. I demanded a refund of the night at the front desk. They told me to speak to management in the morning. I told them the time I would be at the desk. When I got to the desk, the manager was "in a meeting" and when I asked how long he/she would be, they did not know of course. I am currently battling with them to get my money back, especially after paying an extra $100 for early check in! But Hotel Condes does not give your money back so choose very wisely when considering whether you want to stay here and risk your vacation to Barcelona being RUINED! And special shoutout to staff member Esteban, whose attitude comes straight from hell. Even upon checking in before all of this, his cold demeanor and harsh tone were so off-putting. I wouldn't wish dealing with him on my worst enemy. You'd think a smile would make him burst into flames the way he repelled joy. Rethink the hospitality industry please! This is the only place where the carpet was so clean and feeling new that I felt safe to walk around in bare feet without socks out of all the places we stayed at right before this, including other 3- to 4-star hotels. In other words, HLG lives up to the excellent, 4-star quality. Moreover, there are lots of little details that make this place stand out above the rest. First of all, everything felt new and clean as mentioned already. Secondly, the faucets turn on elegantly and not just full blast with full strength. They are controlled. Thirdly, there was a retainer on the toilet paper roll that kept the toilet paper from falling off. Many other places didn't have this, and so the toilet paper would fall off and roll away wasting lots of paper. But here, it is safe and sound. This is a small detail but it adds to the comfort of staying here - stress free. Yep, the small details make a difference; it is noticeable after having traveled to multiple destinations. And the area looks to be very nice and modern. There are new developments and construction. This is the up-and-coming location - a little off the main path, farther from Barcelona, and has a suburban feel. It has its unique character with the set of locally loved restaurants. If you want to explore without all the tourist traps and get a feel for the genuine lifestyle, then this is the place to go. It is just as beautiful and vibrant with life and friendly people. Also, there is a local train that runs, so it is convenient.
