What seems to be a pub-like place was actually a very good brunch / breakfast spot. We came once just the two of us, and later on brought some of our US friends that are living near Frankfurt. Both times everyone got the rather large eggs, bread, cheese, meat, and veggies breakfast. They bring out a plethora of sliced meats, breads, jams, butter, and some light veggies...while you wait on eggs cooked your way. I got a bacon and cheese scramble the first time, and two eggs fried the second. Everyone seemed to love the laid-back atmosphere, the fun décor, and the music. I wished we'd stopped in here during pub hours at least once, because it is just a fun place. Servers were super nice, the prices were very cheap, and the food was good. No complaints and the location was great along the Bergerstrasse. Hope to come back again some day!

In fact, we came to eat more than once while staying in Wiesbaden. The staff is lovely as is all of the food. Not one of us had a dish we didn't love. The atmosphere is great. Decent breakfast/brunch (that's all we've ever eaten there) and usually not too crowded on Sunday mornings. A good selection of teas and iced teas along with all the other usual stuff. Right next to the weekend market so if you want you can stop off there first so you're not too hungry before you go buy everything in sight at the market!

One of the restaurants that appeared on multiple lists was Heimat. The chef/owner responded to my request for a reservation while he and his staff were on holiday. It was wonderful to meet him in person and express my appreciation. The restaurant features a contemporary design with indoor and outdoor seating. The open kitchen is directly behind the counter seating. We started with the Pumpkin Soup that our server suggested we split. It was amazing. My daughter ordered the Panzerotti pasta with blue cheese, plum and oyster mushroom. My choice was the Veal Fillet which was a substantial serving and incredibly tasteful and tender. The Pear Strudel was a perfect desert to end our meal. Excellent service, pricing and presentation. This restaurant deserves it own Michelin star.
