    Mashed potato with sausage
    HY Y.

Nice mood, casual pub. We had lunch there, the server is so kind and friendly. They have english menu and the menus are not so many. So you can choose your meal easy. I ordered potato and sausage. There was sauerkraut also, it was delicious. Also we ordered burger and cheese noodle. Both are so great. We loved! Wanna visit there again in the evening:)

Chicken salad. 12,50 euros for this relatively small person.

We all ordered the Schnitzel, and this food was by far one of the best dishes I've had in all of Europe.

I took a bus there so I can't comment on the parking situation in the area. Ambiance (4/5): From the outside, Atschel looks like a homey, traditional restaurant. Which is exactly what I was looking for when it cam to my first dining experience in Germany. There's a charming inside area with wooden walls as well as a patio area in the back. I sat inside. Drinks (4/5): Frankfurt is known for apelwein or apple wine. So when in Rome...I had the apelwein spritz which adds soda and Aperol. I will say that straight up apelwein is not my jam. It's nice to try while you're in Frankfurt, but it's too bitter and vinegar-ey for me. With that being said, when you mix it in with Aperol and soda, it's pretty solid. And if you're in a group, you can get the apelwein served in large stone mugs which is pretty cool. Outside of that, they have a lot of beer, as you would expect, and pretty much everything else. Service (4.5/5): I was pleasantly surprised with how friendly and attentive the service was (which is typically not the norm in Europe). Our waitress checked on me, thanked me and said goodbye as I was leaving, and overall, did a great job. Food (4/5): Since this is a traditional German restaurant, I had to go with another Frankfurt specialty: Viener schitznel with green sauce. Schnitzel just means a thin cutlet (often pork) that is breaded. The green sauce is made from seven herbs and while it's a tad bit herb-ey for my taste, it was still interesting to try. The dish is served with fried potatoes. Filling and hearty as you would expect from a German meal. For my first meal in Germany, it was a great start to my trip.

Ordered Apfelwein which was not very good - but to be fair I'm sure there's different versions like every other type of wine. Ordered the green sauce dish - a staple of cold green sauce, eggs, potatoes. It was tasty but the eggs were ever so slightly overcooked (the grayish on the outside of the yolk) but the sauce was pretty dang good! Never checked in on me once to see how it was or if I wanted anything else. Finally I just decided to leave and even asked her for the rechnung twice! Never came, was so fed up I just left some cash on the table and walked out. I will not be back.

Rather than stare into the abyss of Gate Z-97, I did what any reasonable adult would do: I escaped on a train into town. Best decision of the trip. This place was an absolute oasis. Staff was warm, friendly, and spoke English (thank you, global civilization). Beer was exactly as advertised -- cold, honest, and doing the Lord's work. Food was excellent and arrived faster than my flight did. The place was immaculately clean, which I noticed immediately because that's what we do now. Even the bathrooms downstairs were spotless -- a bold move and one they pulled off flawlessly. If you're stuck in Frankfurt with a long layover, don't panic. Get on the train. Come here. Have a beer. Eat well. Remember why traveling used to be fun before airlines ruined it. Highly recommend. Would delay my flight again (not really, but you get the idea).

Service: they are very busy hut they make do, u must call them with your attention, there were many huge parties around us, and still they got our orders out. It does take a while, so I suggest ordering pretzels they come out faster. Food: pretzels were meh, just something to much on while waiting on food. The pork foot on the other hand, was so good, very moist, lots of flavor. The saucerkraut that came with it was warm as well and tasted differently that the ones that came with the sausage. The potato dumplings were my first time but they were interesting and chewy! The gnocchi was okay. Some pasta if u like, nothing amazing. I liked the sausage taster though I forget what it was called exactly, but it had different sauces and different sausages to try. I also enjoyed the radler, it was sweet enough to enjoy the beer and it's sweetness.

Unlike most of the restaurants in this hipster neighborhood, Solzer offers traditional German fare, and we started with Handkäs' mit Musik, a chewy, mochi-like cheese dressed with vinegar and onions and served with a slice of farmer's bread. One of their signature entrees was "Solzer's Krüstchenschnitzel," a breaded pork fillet served over a slice of grilled farmer's bread, topped with a fried egg and bacon, and served with green sauce (sour cream and herbs), horseradish, and a refreshing salad (lettuce, tomato, carrots, red onion, peppers, pumpkin seeds) on the side. This was a nicely balanced plate, and the different components came together nicely from the savory, crispy schnitzel to the herbaceous, creamy green sauce and the acidic, refreshing salad. Everything of course went nicely with their apple wine, and the service was friendly and attentive too!

The patio was open and it really gave the restaurant a nice indoor/outdoor feel. When we first sat down, beers were ordered. As Americans, we're used to ordering a pint. What I noticed, Apfelwein Solzer as well as other pubs are serving very large beers, 1.5 or even 2 pint glasses? Am I complaining? Hello no! For my meal I ordered the Hunters Cutlet with Frankfurt sauce. The sauce is the towns local specialty, it tasted herbaceous, very flavorful and unexpected. The place was packed, we had a great meal and was glad we took the Uber from our hotel. The Uber ride back with the driver doing 200 KPH is another story.
