The woman at the cashier said that they have a good flow of these items from the surrounding areas that donate, so I don't believe it was just luck. -tons of parking The American Cancer Society describes their discovery shops as "High quality, gently used, and new merchandise, including collectible and vintage items, are donated by the community then curated and sold in our upscale stores." I don't recall the new merchandise part (I skipped over the clothing sections, so maybe it's there?), and I don't completely think it's upscale because the pricing was so good (but definitely upscale compared to regular thrift stores bc of organization, cleanliness, and visual / merchandising displays), but the rest of that description is spot on. Also apparently they have events...?! i receive their text updates and received this "Join us in Redding for our yard art event. Make flowers, fairy gardens, or mosaic pieces. This store was by far the best one we went to. It's the type of store you can spend a lot of time exploring the great variety of items they have. They had everything from a vintage Polaroid camera to motocross helmets to vintage dishes to clothing and beyond. Truly the store that has something for everyone. Very well organized and clean. The workers usually aren't very friendly or engaging... which never really bothers me! I get that teen girls just kind of want to do their own thing. Today one of the workers totally shocked me. She was wearing a top that was split down the center and had strings of small beads connecting the two sides. That's kind of the best I can say to explain it! Her ENTIRE bra was exposed. Like I literally am just looking at her whole bra while talking to her. Wire and cups fully exposed. Everything. It was so strange, and made me really uncomfortable. I understand that there really isn't a dress code here. I have seen some prettyyyy inappropriate outfits from the workers here that I wouldn't even wear to the beach But this one was like totally beyond anything I have ever seen! She was just so exposed. And on top of that- extremely rude. Even when I was trying to joke and make small talk. Very unimpressed with her. Enough to write a review- which I never do!
