Do not shop here. He treats his community members very poorly. Reposting from FB Long story, but PLEASE READ for your safety! BEWARE of the "256 parking lot" on Petaluma Blvd! I am a mother of 2 small children, I rarely go out downtown to eat at all anymore, but tonight my friends decided to treat me to dinner for my birthday at the old 256 (now Torches). I pulled into the "designated 256 parking lot", which still has a hugely lit sign saying "256 parking", so I pulled in, not realizing that it no longer applies to Torches. There is a little tiny sign on the ground saying customer parking or something along those lines, which I thought was meant towards Torches customers! Torches ends up being closed so we walked to Brewsters, had dinner and when I got back to my car it was terribly blocked in. The owner of Rags to Stitches, Paul, was inside working so I knocked on the door and asked if it was his car, and he denied. So I frantically called a friend to please come get me because I needed to get home to my 6 month old baby and 2 year old. He must have overheard me through the door, and came outside, yelled at me in his dark parking lot, a 30 year old woman alone, that if I gave him $40 he'd move the car that was actually in fact his. I explained it was truly an honest accident and that I didn't understand the confusing signage. I haven't been downtown to eat in so long and didn't realize the new parking situation there. I was almost in tears with him yelling at me so I gave him the only cash I had, $24, as I was cold and exhausted, and was desperate to go pick up my children from my parents house, and he happily took it. I cannot believe a fellow Petaluma business owner would treat a younger woman that way. Especially someone who is a father of a daughter himself! Moral of the story, do not park there, even if the signage seems confusing! I would suggest to the owner to maybe gate off or put a chain across the parking lot so this doesn't continue to happen. Maybe remove the giant light up sign that says "256 Parking Here". What a mortifying experience! read more

It was late on a Friday when I stopped in to see if Rags to Stitches could save the day by making extremely last-minute printed T-shirts for 20 people by the next morning. I called Paul on a Wednesday, when my boss asked me to look into getting golf shirts embroidered with our company logo for an event that was taking place on the following Wednesday (less than a week out). After looking for places in Marin that are close to my office, many of which are now closed, I contacted Paul. He asked that I send over our logo and immediately he called me back and said he could do it. After speaking with my boss on Thursday morning, I couldn't get back to Paul until Thursday afternoon to order the shirts, which made me quite nervous, however, Paul reassured me that he would have it done and ready for pick up by 3pm the following Tuesday. On Friday, he came back with our logo and it wasn't quite what I had in mind. I sent over a PAINT drawing of what I envisioned and Paul set out to work. He even worked through the weekend sending me the proof on a Saturday so I could get approval from my boss by Monday morning. I called Paul on Tuesday morning to ask if we were still set for the Tuesday afternoon deadline, he said "We're ready for Wednesday pick up" which sent me into a tailspin before he said he was joking (If you get the pleasure to meet Paul, you'll realize he's a great guy with quite the sense of humor). He told me that he had worked through MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL and completed the shirts Monday night. If that isn't amazing service, I dont know what is? I went to pick up the shirts on Tuesday and was amazed at what a great job Paul did, given such short notice. He really came through and everyone was excited to see the shirts. None of the women in the office originally wanted shirts because we did not think they'd come out as good as they did. We're all now begging my boss to get us tennis shirts. Wanted to have a name embroidered on a backpack. I dropped off the backpack with the information needed and Paul mentioned it would be done the next week. I called a week later and it hadn't been done yet. He said, "Call me in the morning tomorrow and remind me and I'll get it done for you."
