Come on the Parish!
Raheny GAA Club - apart from being the home of the parish's most vigorous and upstanding young men - also sells the cheapest pints in Raheny. The bar upstairs is nice in a kind of slightly worn and neglected kind of way - the slight air of decrepitude only serves to add to the charm. Very pleasant and friendly staff, and on the whole nice locals, although the fact that they the GAA club sells the cheapest pints around attracts some weird old people who don't have much of a connection with an Cumann Luthcleas Gael, but sure they're supporting the club and who am I to judge.
The only thing preventing Raheny GAA Club from getting a five-star review is the function room downstairs. I say "function room", whereas it would actually be a lot more accurate to describe it as "gymnasium with a few trestle tables in it". It's just a big room, and if it is in anyway empty, the 21st or whatever the function is will seem very dead.
Still and all, great little spot, one of the finer of Raheny's drinking establishments. read more
