No need to buy first class ticket, just show your card to the attendant and take an available seat. Seat is pretty comfortable and get to charge your phone while on board. Short ride felt really short. WiFi worked good for quick email check.

The train itself is basic, nothing special considering how expensive it is, but it is truly efficient. The only thing is that if you are planning to grab a taxi/uber at Paddington, it definitely decreases the efficiency (I had to wait 15 for the Express train, then walk across the street and wait 15 minutes for an uber to my hotel which took 30 minutes - if I had just taken a car from the airport it wouldn't have been that much slower, but that's also assuming minimal traffic).

The station has a small ticket office with part-time opening, and ticket machines for self-service purchases when the office is closed. There's a small kiosk selling drinks and snacks on weekday mornings, a few parking spaces and bike racks. There are four platforms, of which 1 and 4 handle most of the services. 2 and 3 are normally closed to passengers by barriers. There are basic weather shelters. The platforms are accessed by stairs - there is no level access. Services are provided by the Great Northern Railway. The normal off-peak service pattern is a half hourly, alternating between Peterborough and Cambridge northbound and London Kings Cross southbound.

So, on my feed during holiday- I see this picture of a steam train that travels one way to Windsor Castle! Well, since this is a limited service (Tuesdays only from June- September 2019) departing from Waterloo Station... it's a must! I mean, hubby really likes steam trains... and since we still had Windsor Castle on our To Do list... it was a win win. We booked via Steam Dreams website on their Royal Windsor excursion! There are a variety of departure times (but, if you wanna see the Changing of the Guard at Windsor- take the 8am train). I booked ourselves the champagne brunch and had no idea this gave us seating in a First Class Pullman car!! Prior to boarding- we took videos & photos. The conductors were cool enough to allow me in the furnace chamber!! How cool is that! I was afraid to slip in there or even touch anything w/ out proper work gloves! LOL Yes, it was hot in there and that fire burned bright. We even met an employee who told us about his recent Amtrak journey in America. He rode from San Francisco, Chicago, to New York!! While enjoying the plush first class seats, passengers aren't necessarily cramped. Which is fine by me. Our server was polite and attentive. The journey to Windsor was very smooth. I was really surprised by the quality of food too. Our granola yogurt parfait was a simple serving. The eggs Benedict was delicious. You can never go wrong with Béarnaise sauce. I'm not really into English muffins- but here- they are slightly toasted to give the edges a golden touch. And the inside was still soft enough to slice your poached egg. The shredded ham was not overly salty. Just perfect.

Got passport and was made to resign checks repeatedly until the clerk was satisfied. When I left I was berated for not being thankful. I was embarrassed and treated like a five year old school boy. Not reasons to give thanks. Use another location if you can .

The company is located in a good location for my work and is near both Charing Cross and Leicester Square for transport. The office is on the 3rd floor of a modern apartment building and feels reputable. The company offers different speeds of service and price, (see the website). In addition they can also arrange travel in China, internal flights and so forth, although I didn't use part of this service. The visa arrived on the day I wanted it. I picked it up from their office, (a service that is free), or included in the price they will courier your passport back to you. You can courier documents to them or drop them at the office. Staff were friendly and helpful and advised me on my first application what needed to be changed so that the application wasn't rejected. The main reason to use an agent is that the queue for the Chinese VISA section starts at 7.15am in the morning and at 8.30am will be a 2-3hr queue that stretches around the block. Therefore by paying a small premium you save lots of time and hassle.

They charge £60 a head for a refund. The customer service is rude. Nobody speaks English even though their head office is in London. Turn around for a refund is months upon months. If you value your money use someone ABTA registered - certainly don't use these very unprofessional cowboys!
