Not many people know this (or at least people I talked to so far) that if you are a star alliance gold, complimentary upgrade to the first class of seats are available. No need to buy first class ticket, just show your card to the attendant and take an available seat. Seat is pretty comfortable and get to charge your phone while on board. Short ride felt really short. WiFi worked good for quick email check.

The train itself is basic, nothing special considering how expensive it is, but it is truly efficient. The only thing is that if you are planning to grab a taxi/uber at Paddington, it definitely decreases the efficiency (I had to wait 15 for the Express train, then walk across the street and wait 15 minutes for an uber to my hotel which took 30 minutes - if I had just taken a car from the airport it wouldn't have been that much slower, but that's also assuming minimal traffic).

The wallpaper reminded me of 2006 Victoria's Secret, and the doors are floor to ceiling offering the most privacy of any public restroom I have been in. The entire station is ridiculously clean compared to any US train or bus station I have traveled through. There are many options for coffee and food, as well as a mini M&S and Tesco Express.... Tesco Express meal deal for less than £4 cannot be beat!!! 5 stars for convince, cleanliness, friendliness, and Tesco Express.

Once in the terminal for Paris departure, we found refuge at a few basic seats. They offer two cafes and a clean bathroom. The train arrived on time with quick boarding. The lower large luggage area on the train is limited on a first come first serve basis, although has higher shelving available. The ride was great without any issues with clean bathrooms. They offer a Eurostar Cafe onboard where we ordered water and chips. The cashier was friendly and offered us French mini chocolates, which we graciously took. At the cafe we purchased subway passes for Paris called Navigo. Much easier process than flying.

It's clean and well-run and is easy to navigate with signage. I came into this station from Heathrow via the express train from the airport to Paddington Station for about $45. I easily walked up and purchased my ticket at the airport from a kiosk and walked via the easy to follow signage to the correct area and waited about 8 minutes for the next train. Once at Paddington, I switched to another train and made it to my hotel. All for about $50 in 45 minutes instead of spending $150 on a taxi and sitting in traffic for two hours. No thanks! I love the ease of inner city travel via train in London. It's great. Europeans have it figured out when it comes to that! The station itself is large and has plenty of shopping and snacks to take care of you. I hadn't eaten in hours and grabbed a sandwich while here and looked at some shirts and sunglasses for the trip. Outside the station are all sorts of convenience stores, hotels and there is even a skateboarding park just about a block away. It's very convenient to walk to from my company apartment (about a 15 minute walk) so was super convenient during my time in MK to get to London.

This is a good overground train station with trains that go to Waterloo station in Central London. Having this line makes a day trip out of London to Windsor very easy and affordable if you do not want to take a tour on a tour bus. For us, we were able to find a late morning train and got to Windsor & Eaton in around a half hour. The train was nice and air conditioned and when we pulled into the station it was easy to exit and find our way to the items on our list including a trip to the castle and a boat tour. The attendants at the station were very nice when we returned and let us know which train we needed to board. The station is small but it does have two platforms and a little news stand with refreshments.

I jumped off here because I ended up catching the Elizabeth Line train from Heathrow, and I thought I might simply go for a bit of an explore, especially since it was first thing in the morning. The station does feel pretty tacky in parts though they also seem to have fixed it up a bit more now that the Elizabeth Line goes through here. The station is also a stop on the Great Western Line that runs out to Reading, so if you're looking to avoid Paddington for some reason (afraid of bears, perhaps?) then you might consider taking the Tube here and catching one of the slow trains. There is no step-free access from street level to the platforms. Depending on which platforms you might be switching between, it's possible you might have a step-free experience. Signs from one line to another are clearly marked and there are ticket barricades with Oyster readers at the exits. If you are switching platforms from the trains to the Tube, don't forget to hit one of those readers because there isn't a barricade between those. On the platforms, you'll find a Costa kiosk as well as a West Cornwall Pasty. Up in the ticketing level is a WH Smith. The station is in Travelcard Zone 3. On the Central Line, the next stop is West Acton and on the District, it's Ealing Common.
