this place is awesome! my friend lives in prince george, and we were visiting her from the UK. my…read moreboyfriend and i are pretty obsessed with animals, and on a cloudy, overcast june day, my friend couldn't think of much else to do in PG apart from come here. and we were so glad we did! when we first arrived, we thought it was shut as the opening wasn't immediately obvious, and the gate stated 'closed entrance' which we later worked out to mean that the entrance gate should stay closed at all times, not that the farm was closed! it costs $6 to enter, and you can buy feedbags for two or four legged friends depending on your preference for $1. best $7 spent in PG for sure! the farm has lots of different animals to interact with, including tons of goats, who love being petted. they will follow you around for one more scratch, which is adorable. we also had the pleasure of meeting buddy, one of the farm dogs, who followed us around as we went. so cute! my heart belonged to the cats, particularly the little tortie with half a tail, who let me pick her up and wander around the farm with her in my arms whilst she snuggled down to sleep. ahhhh, be still my melting heart! if you like animals at all, and at any age, then this place will bring you joy.

I've noted this in other reviews, but being from Northern California with viticulture experience, I love being able to learn from and try other wineries. I've never tried any fruit wine and was slightly nervous, as I don't favor ultra sweet wine nor ports. I taxi'd over around 4pm - walked in through the main door to find myself alone in their tasting room. Once greeted I inquired about a wine tasting, where someone behind the counter poured me 4 tastings of more red-wine-like fruit wines. I was pleasantly surprised by the wines and also appreciated the knowledge she shared. I ended up purchasing the Blueberry one and the Haskap (that made it back to CA safely!). I then sat down for dinner (also was 1 of 2 groups there), ordered the Sicilian pesto and ended up getting the cookies & cream desert. Great portions and flavors, I can't complain. While I was waiting for my food, they let me venture around their Christmas lights experience outside. Again, I was lucky to be alone as I could use their handy wooden selfie stands to set my phone on and take pictures. I must admit I haven't taken a great solo photo in awhile and I now have one of my favorites from here :D Highly recommend if you stop by PG - will most likely be back for work again and look forward to popping in!

This is my favorite kind of museum - the one where things aren't behind glass and sometimes you can…read moreaccidentally get behind the scenes. They left a couple of train cars open and I saw old engine parts, partially assembled models - actually a lot of cool stuff back there. Too bad those weren't supposed to be open, but the good news is with continued work they hope to be showcasing them soon! This place has a TON of potential. They've only fully restored one or two of the train cars, and several are restored only enough to be open to the public. You can climb all over anything that's open, and walk all around anything that's not. There's an original rail turntable toward the back. There's a weird burning apparatus that the mini-train goes through but you can walk into. It's just really cool, and I don't mind contributing $8 toward a place that clearly has an interest to expand and become even better. If you like old stuff in general, or machinery/rail in particular, make this a stop in the far NW.
