For someone who delights in being a minimalist, I sure found a great deal of joy in this wonderful gift shop. It goes on and on with beautiful display after another of unique, attractive themed gifts. Truly, hats off to the person in charge of displaying the products-they know what they are doing. I'd imagine that's a bit of a challenge to avoid making things look cluttered with so much stuff to work with. I'm not sure what else to say other than this is a gift shop that I will excitedly and enthusiastically return to. There are delicious smelling candles, kitchen gadgets, home décor, stationary, candy and trinkets that would make your grandma's heart skip a beat. It almost makes me want to start collecting something...not sure what...but I'd find it here for certain. read more

We stopped here while going up Ogden Canyon. What a fun gift shop . They have just about everything . We enjoyed looking at all the fun stuff they had . The employees were so nice & helpful . We ended up buying some caramels . They have all kinds of candy , treats, syrups & honey that are locally made for Utah .They have cute yard decorations, pots & plants . They have a good selection of different kinds of shells . They are a good price too . We got a small dried starfish . I would recommend stopping here if you are in the area . I came to this shop every time I was in town. This time however will be my last. Your cashier Nicole was so very unprofessional. Twice she asked me If I was paying for an item. First it was my wallet that I pulled out of my purse. I told her the wallet belonged to me. ????? Don't get it. She then asked me if I was going to pay for a hat that I had on the counter. The hat belonged to my granddaughter. I was horrified that This much older Women had accused me of stealing. Where does she get off on doing that. Rainbow Gardens is billed as the largest gift shop in Utah, and I'm sure that's true. The front section is home to many different vendors who I am guessing rent space there. Once you walk through you'll pass the restaurant. I remember eating there as a child and thinking it was very fancy, however I don't know if it would bear my scrutiny as well now...it is light and open, though, and honestly pretty, if a little dated looking. I most recently visited on a Sunday and EVERYONE was walking around with boxes of their "Mormon Muffins," so they must be doing something right with those! Following the restaurant is the actual main section of gift shop, and they do have quite an eclectic assortment of items. You'll find some food and treats, clothing, bags and accessories, kitchen items, lots of home goods, toys, decorations, seashells, plants, cards, etc etc. As a kid I loved visiting Rainbow Gardens, but as I've gotten older it's lost some of it's charm. While I do think it might be a good place to visit if you are shopping for a gift and have no idea what to get someone (simply due to the sheer volume of options), it is very overpriced, and there really isn't anything particularly special or exciting there. The only time I feel differently is at Christmas when they really do have some lovely ornaments and decorations. If you're in the area I would check it out, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there. read more

Yeah, they are big. One could spend all day here just browsing. We stopped in because our friend had been wanting to check it out the whole week we were staying in the area. She was attracted to the sign that said they were the largest gift shop in North America. I may be wrong, but I believe the sign said something to that effect. We ended up staying about an hour at the place. My wife and I did not buy anything because what we did like was too expensive. Our friend, though, did find some souvenirs and gifts for friends and family back home. Would I return to this gift shop? Probably not. We found better deals elsewhere. Still, the place is very large so maybe we did not search hard enough. The restaurant inside the building looked good so I would come back to try their food. read more

If this place is sacrosanct to some for its nostalgic value, I apologize in advance for offending those folks when I say this place sucks. The Planet Rainbow is ok, but even that was frustrating (only one facing in the cooler for bottled water? Really?) The rest of it was stuff nobody really needs. Just overpriced crap. I have lived here in the Ogden, Utah area for about 24 years. I love going to Rainbow Gardens & look at all of their cute stuff but....after today I am done! They have joined in with the rest of the world spreading more of the hate selling impeach Trump pills & other hate stuff about our President. Really show some respect! I seldom ever leave a review for a business, especially a negative review but I wanted to share with fellow shoppers the experience I had shopping at Rainbow Gardens. The good review, first..... I love to browse their gift department. They have unique gifts. I spent a good part of the morning with a family member shopping. I selected several items to -purchase. All was good .. I went to the counter to purchase my gifts. Then I presented my coupon I received from them from their Sidewalk Sale flyer. hey gave me my discount, then I asked for my coupon back so I could use it again the following day, or weekend, with my daughter. Hence, a long debate on the interpretation of the fine print. "Limit one coupon per purchase per day". I interpret that to mean I can use the oupon again... another day. It's been my experience when dealing with retail customers that a business wants to recognize their customers needs and especially to ensure they had a good experience So hopefully they come back again to shop. Well , that notion was lost upon the help behind the counter and also by the owner. I was told I could have the coupon back but they would have to remove the discount I received but I could use the coupon again another day. After several ong minutes waiting for Bill the owner to settle it for us, he finally showed up and double downed on their interpretation of the coupon. So for $6.00 savings, they chose to void my sale. So they lost a $50 sale yesterday and the -possibility Of me returning with my daughter to shop again in the near future as well as me ever returning again. Maybe Bill should talk to his sister, who Bill said was responsible for the advertising flyers, to correct the fine print to read exactly what their intention of the coupon savings was for. And the help behind the counter heckling me....priceless! No thank you, Rainbow Gardens. I read a lot of your reviews. It appears to me that other people recognized the rude help, also. I live close by so i like to visit this place with the changing of the seasons for updated merchandise. Granted, this place is not for everyone, but if you like to shop for unique and/or local items, this is a good place to go. There is a huge gift shop, a quilt shop/fabric store which although small, really packs a punch, meaning there is a large variety of items and they also give regular craft and quilt classes. A section with separate vendors that have a variety of items including local, and Olympic souvenirs from the 02 Olympics hosted by Utah. There is also a restaurant that i've only eaten at once for lunch, and seemed pretty good. At the gift shop, some stuff is expensive (Vera Bradley section, although they have a great selection) and some is inexpensive (my favorite, the jewelry section has a lot of cute and cheap items). I like that there are a lot of items made in Utah. They have plants and planters, some unique. They have a great window display between the restaurant and shop. Last Christmas it was stunning, I wish I had pictures of it. The front of the building also has a nice area that features Christmas trees and ornaments all year around, along with a nice view of the river. There are a few souvenirs, t shirts and hats, but not a lot. The grift shop didn't have postcards but the vendor section did, but not a big selection. I would recommend it if you're in the Ogden area and like to shop or want to pick up some Utah made items. read more

I probably shouldn't even write a review about this place. Because it is definitely not my kind of place. I hate gift shops with a passion. But if you do love these kind of places?
