I recently visited The Local Artisan Collective and found it disappointing. As a passionate art collector, I regularly attend art festivals and gallery shows. I buy art, especially watercolor paintings, but also oils and prints often. I was excited to browse the locally made arts and crafts, but I found most of the work quite amateurish and unimpressive. I cannot say enough how wonderful this place is! I ran into it by chance while visiting Ogden and I kept returning whenever we have to stay over in town. I signed up for the silver snake ring class and ended up taking one more class on making a copper bowl. Then on my next visit, I asked for a private lesson where I could design a copper bowl on my own and re-make my silver snake ring into a bracelet. The ring was gorgeous, but was a bit heavy for my finger. Now the beautiful light bracelet is just perfect! The abstract bowl I made is also very much to my style. But I certainly appreciated the technique Rene taught me in making the proper round bowl. Everyone in the shop is super nice, from the artist to front desk people, everyone is just warm and happy being. I highly recommend the classes in this place. So reasonably priced and so worth it! read more

Visited the store last week and was amazed at the quality and variety of products available. All are made by local artisans-clothing, jewelry, paintings, candles, lotion, soap, curiosity pieces, bead work, glass work, gourds and more at a wide range of prices. This place not concerned with good customer service! I was charged for a class I did not register for. There was miscommunication which the proprietor was not wiling to take any responsibility for. I will not be back but hope that loosing a customer and getting a bad review was worth the $25 it would have taken to solve the problem. read more

One of my favorite places to visit in all of Utah. There are classes for kids and adults, and there is always an artist there doing cool stuff. There's a glass blower, potters, jewelers, and so many more. Everything is hand made locally!! read more

Great little place. We will definitely be back for some holiday shopping, but this review is actually for the "pottery date night" class that we did there. To be honest, we went in just hoping to have some fun and didn't expect to be able to make anything tangible since we are complete beginners. The two hours flew by and we actually ended up with three pieces that I think we might not be too embarrassed to use (with a LOT of help from the instructors, lol). Unfortunately, I can't remember their names, but they were a sweet couple themselves and we had a blast hanging out and throwing some clay with them. This shop has a wonderful vibe, unique gifts, amazing art, and great classes! Everyone that works in the shop is an artistisan that sells their work there so is very knowledgeable and helpful. And all the items in the store are made locally! I highly recommend it. I have been here several times just to shop and to take some classes. They have a wide variety of goods so it is a great place to pick up something for your home or a gift for a friend. They also have a wide variety of classes for all sorts of arts and crafts so you can learn some new skills. I have loved the classes I have taken and am looking forward to taking more.
