Well, I can tell you, we had amazing food!! So much so, I may still be thinking about the brownies, chicken pot pie, and chocolate chip cookies, ohh and those breakfasts.... Ok now I wanna go back!! The staff was super nice, friendly (always smiling) and always helpful. We stayed in several of the cabins, they were clean and comfortable. I was in the Lodge. Which boasts a fireplace. It was nice to be able to have this amenity on a chilly rainy evening. The grounds were beautiful and really allowed me to connect with nature. I cannot speak to the costing, but I am certain it is worth every cent. If you have the chance to go here as a child or adult, go have fun, learn skills and connect with nature.

She asked if there was classes for survival. Luckily I found California Survival School. We were fortunate to have Dan as the instructor. He background is quite extensive and impressive. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Although I thought my seven year old would get bored with the lecture portion, Dan kept the group engaged throughout. The hand on activities were our favorite, like building a tend properly. Both my daughter and I enjoyed the class and learned essential skills that can be used in everyday situations. Highly recommend the class for any age.

My wife signed me up for the weekend basic survival certification course + the Monday wilderness…read morefirst aid certification course without me knowing because she knew I had an interest in it, just not the initiative. 3 hours into the course, I thought "wow, if you have the information and training...your chances of survival increase drastically". On the final day...I felt like I knew many of the other clients, and staff, there for much longer than the fees days we had shared together. I recommend these classes to anybody interested in learning techniques that could save your life in a multitude of situations in a positive environment with instructors that genuinely Love what they are doing. Had some amazing conversations with new friends by the fire pit at night as well. Adult class + camp. Adam (head instructor), Josh and Aiden (the staff I had for my courses) were fantastic with different but complimentary personalities and a wealth of knowledge that naturally engaged everybody. Only criticism is that the website says you can fish...but you won't have time.

Shark and Stingray were not. : ) Bionerds staff are like unicorns because they're so good with children and knowledgeable about their teachings. It takes passion to do this. We cannot wait to attend their Field Trip event and attending future classes/camp! It is not often you get to see real shark and stingray being dissected! It is located right on the corner with First St. & Pacific with plenty of parking in the front. They have classes in different cities, school and do private party, and birthday party. There is electricity available inside and the bathrooms have 2 stalls and a shower. There is also a large cabinet to store small items. I was also concerned about the food because of prior reviews (burned hamburgers and cold cuts). It was 100% not true! Both mornings we had hot eggs and potatoes. One morning included sausage. There was a nice assortment of yogurt, fresh fruit and oatmeal with lots of extra toppings, along with nice pastries. Lunches were also quite nice and included hot entrees, salad and goodies. Dinners were hot meats, baked potatoes with lots of toppings to choose and cooked vegetables. I was more than satisfied with the amount and quality of the food. Even though our party arrived a little late on the first night, there was parking available near our cabin. Lots of varied activities were also available for all ages and abilities. Our group is looking forward to going again.

Camp James is an absolute gem! My son just finished a week there, and it was everything a classic…read moresummer camp should be. The kids were outside all day, with a packed schedule of fun activities like kayaking, canoeing, archery, laser tag, yoga, dancing, and paddleboarding to name a few, not to mention fair like games and rides during free time. It was nonstop fun, and he loved connecting with old friends and making new ones. The counselors were incredible, so patient, positive and full of energy. A huge thank you to Jim (AKA Cardinal), the coach for the Bears group this past week! He made the week unforgettable, and my son won't stop talking about how much fun he had and how awesome his coach was. You can also buy food from them (catered daily from nearby restaurants) which is a huge bonus for kids like mine who aren't into cold sandwiches. We just finished 8 weeks back to back of incredible summer camps, and this was definitely a top contender for my kid. We will be back, and I 100% recommend Camp James.
