Raintree Park is one of the greater parks in Troy. It is a half wooded and half open space with a paved walking loop throughout. I especially loved that the park has partnered with the Troy Public Library to make the loop a Storybook Trail, which changes books monthly! Visitors can enjoy a 9-hole disc golf course, ball diamond, play structures, swings, sand volleyball, and a picnic shelter. The swings include traditional swings, baby bucket swings, as well as one ADA swing. There is plenty of parking and the restrooms seem to be open seasonly. read more

Rating purely as a baseball park, I would give this park above average rating in comparison to other ballparks that are in the Metro Detroit area. This ball diamond is the only playing field in this park where the infield amd the outfield are in good shape. relative to the infield, it is well groomed with a pebble/dirt surface that does not present any issues for bad bounces/ricochets. The outfield is in good shape as well with no bare spots and risks of skips/bad bounces. Relative to other key features, the ball field has a basic backstop with fenced in dugouts to protect the players. What is lacking in this field versus the other higher end fields in the area are covered dugouts, nice dirt infield (no pebbles), larger bleachers for the fans (Bring you own chair ), concession area and lights. In spite of these short comings it is still an above average ball field that your kids should enjoy playing on. read more

The paved walking trail in this park rocks! The main loop seemed to be about 0.7 miles long. There are small elevation changes, twists and turns, and lots of shaded sections. The pavement is good. The path was wide enough for safe passing. I encountered a variety of singles, couples, and groups on my walk. Some were strolling and others were moving faster. Many said hello and a couple offered me encouragement in my speed walking. This is also a good place to walk dogs. There are poop pickup bags near the beginning of the trail. The city of Troy should be proud of this park. read more

A small neighborhood park with a nice walking path in the woods. There are larger parks in the area but this one is worth the stop if you're driving along John R Road in Troy and want some exercise or a place to relax. I like the shade the trees provide in the warmer months. read more

** MY 300th REVIEW! ** This is a seriously awesome park--especially if you have kids. The play structures (one for toddlers and one for bigger kids) are located far enough back off John R that if they happen take off running, you have lots of time to catch them. The play structures are both awesome--the toddler one is on that spongy mat stuff and the big kid one is on sand. Both have multiple slides and walkways and climbing areas. They are very close to one another as well, so if you have kids of different ages, you can park yourself on a picnic table between them and keep an eye on everyone. Speaking of picnic tables, there are a bunch of them, and most of them are under the covered pavilion...though there are a few spread throughout the park (and you can move them where you want them). The only downside to this, of course, is that they are often in different spots when you go there. There are also restrooms at the pavilion. There is a paved walking trail around the entire park, with half of it being wooded and scenic, with many walkways into the adjacent neighborhoods. There are soccer fields, a sand volleyball court, a swingset (with regular swings as well as baby swings), disc golf, and lots of grassy areas to run and play. There is also a good amount of parking. We happen to live in one of the adjacent neighborhoods so this park is a 5-minute walk from our house. This will be the one thing we DESPERATELY miss when we move out of state next month. I should actually have about 50 check-ins here, except this listing is brand new (I always thought about creating it, but just never got around to it). I'm really glad I got to write a review before we left. read more

Solid park with playgrounds appropriate for both school age kids and toddlers. They just installed field turf around the toddler playground, which eliminate the annoying sand in shoes problem On top of this they have a disc golf course that is perfect for novices or people looking for a quick easy round. They also have a pavilion area where I believe you can rent out. Finally they have a nice walking/bike path that goes around the entire park. read more

A park with actual trees! This is also a disc golf park, so if you aren't a player, be careful where you sit to eat your lunch. Why the Rangers it a picnic table next to a disc target/goal is beyond me--I got hit in the head with a disc that was launched from 100yards away, resulting in a concussion and a trip to the hospital. Noice. So, I now sit far from that goal and enjoy the squirrels bold enough to come up and beg for food. I posted one of a little feller having a bit of onion roll. read more

Great place to run (if you're not doing a long distance) - the loop around, including the baseball field, is about 1.25 miles I believe. Plenty of shade and well-kept. I always see someone there taking care of the grounds. The playground is in the center enough that I don't have to worry about tripping over kids as I run. It's never been busy when I've been there (usually midday, both weekdays and weekends). read more

The park is within the walk distance from my home. It offers plenty of space for kids and adults to enjoy sports or party. I would recommend this place especially if you live close. read more

I played disc golf here and there were some Asian people on the course having a picnic. I told them to be careful but they just looked at me and kept eating sandwiches. I don't know if they understood what I was saying but eventually they left so I smoked a cigarette. There were lots of bugs here so bring bug spray. read more

Nice park in the Troy area. It has a pavillions, many picnic tables, and a play area. It also seems to have a walking trail , but I've never been on it. It's a nice park to go to during lunchtime for some fresh air. Seems like many groups go there around this time, both families and friends. read more
