Dodge park is a very fun and a beautiful place to visit. I had been at this park since I was a kid until adulthood. It's a great, vibrant community space, with something for everyone. There are large playgrounds for kids and many shaded spots great for relaxing or having a picnic with family/friends. The walking and biking trails are extensive, well-kept and have beautiful views along the river. There are small stops along the way to enjoy the view or let your dog swim. The park is also extremely dog friendly, with plenty of room for pups to run around and meet new friends. If you're looking for family BBQ space, or just a place to spend a few hours outside, Dodge Park has plenty of tables, parking, and activity to keep you satisfied. The only downside is the sidewalks are also used by bikers which can be risky as people are walking in the same direction.

I have regularly visited Dodge Park for fresh air and exercise since the pandemic started. There are walking paths as well as bike trails. According to the city website, Dodge park is 51.2 acres. I have spent hours walking the main trail along the Clinton River where one can admire the nature and wildlife. I have seen squirrels, Canada geese, deer, skunks, and ducks on my walks. I enjoy going in the early morning where there are only a few walkers, joggers, and bicyclists around. It gets a bit crowded in the early evening with more families and skateboarders using the trails. The paths are large enough to maintain a fairly safe distance from others, but I recommend bringing a mask when there are more parkgoers around. I have also heard of the weekly farmers market which I still have yet to attend. The Farmers Market Pavilion is located to the east of the main entrance along Utica Road. There are numerous parking lots throughout the park and restrooms that I found to be cleaned and well maintained. The main entrance is across the street from the police station and I have seen police officers regularly patrolling the park both by bike and on foot. I find Dodge Park to be safe, clean, and large enough to spend the day there exercising and enjoying the outdoors. It is one of the best free parks I've seen in Macomb County.

Absolutely my favorite place to walk, run, or people watch! Dodge Park has grown and improved so much over the last few years. It is definitely worth a day out with your family (and dogs!) There's so much to do for everyone. Playground, basketball courts, splash pad, volleyball -- you name it. There's something for everyone. There's even an ice rink in the winter Did I mention the biking and walking trails? The trails span about 5 miles. There's so much wildlife and beauty to see, too. Don't forget about kayaking and fishing in the river. I've been coming here often over the last year. My dog absolutely loves it! We love that it is so dog friendly. Dodge Park is quiet in a sense because it is so vast, but it's also a rocking place in the summer. Lucky for us -- it's free!

Very nice park. Dodge Park has wonderfully paved walking trails and is dog friendly. It's very beautiful and looks like it also has a swim park during warmer weather. Dodge Park also includes a nice picnic area and the restrooms are clean. Dodge Park has its own parking lot as well. There is a soccer field, volleyball and basketball court for park goers to enjoy. Dodge Park is a well maintained area and is very safe. If you are in the area this is a fantastic park that everyone would be happy they came.

I have not been to Dodge Park since the 90s. But I have driven by to get to work over the years and have been shocked by the changes. They have really turned this park into an A+ park. There's a new amphitheater there and it's pretty great. I have never even heard of Sterling Fest, but when my son's robotics team decided to have a booth to recruit members to all levels of robotics, we signed right up. I had absolutely no idea what to expect though. Holy cow it was a huge fair! It ran very well. Plenty of parking. I ran into a ton of people I knew which was super fun. The robotics teams got great attention! My son also got to meet his new teammates as he is now transitioning to the highschool team. Absolutely crazy. I have a freshman! Overall we had a great time. There was a Prince cover band there one night and Uncle Cracker played on Sat! There we're gorgeous evening fireworks. If you haven't been, check it out next year!

I loved this trail/park. Park is nice and when you cross small bridge and run to the right, it is a small trail along the creek, so if you need a longer run, you need to turn left after bridge. Very beautiful peaceful trail along the creek for running, biking, or walking. I would recommend it to anyone. Parking convinent, has bathrooms and bbq tables.

I've been to Dodge Park for the Sterlingfest Art Fair every year, but never took the time to explore the park itself. I was quite impressed at the walking/biking trail. I can't wait to go back with our bikes and go for a ride! It was bustling with families and walkers and bikers. One of the pavilions had a large family reunion going on. I was impressed to see so many people using the park and walking the trail! All in all, a very nice park that I should have gotten around to a long time ago!

Came up to the park to see the Journey tribute band Captured. The band was very good but the surprise of the night was Drunken Rooster food truck they served up some incredible gourmet tacos, the spice on them were spot on the pickled vegetables were awesome . These were not your run of the mill tacos, not just shells ground road kill, processed cheese, wilted lettuce. These tacos fresh meat, fresh vegetables, fresh spices, cilantro on tacos is much better than land lettuce. The two guys running this truck were awesome super friendly, answered question and mostly took they're time to perfect your order. Will scout these guys out. Went to Sterlingfest what a great event live music , food tents from local restaurants, amusement rides, kids tent, beer hall with live music and plenty of things to do. This is a very well run festival hi five to the city. The food choices had quite a few choices. The main stage area was very well done the switch was a very welcomed thing the old way, the sun was blaring you in the face. I've been coming to this event for many years and hope for many more.

Ask the Community - Dodge Park

I know there is a ice arena there, but is the ice arena converted to a roller rink for roller blading during the summer, and is there hockey nets there?

There are no hockey nets. Its an open area during the summer because they're about to start the farmer's market.

Can I drive a rc car here? If so, where?

In an area that features many great playgrounds and parks to take your family to, Innovation Hills has always stood out. There is a lack of options for younger children though (no infant swings?). The three stars? One of the new features of this park is the addition of Park Mobile being introduced for the main parking lot. Signs everywhere reminding you that you better have paid your $1.50 an hour! There is of course a free dirt lot across the busy road for your convenience. Or a parking 'annual pass' you can purchase from the Rochester Hills website. Our society struggles with the concept of 'the third place'. Parks and playgrounds are a haven for families and a community builder outside of work and home. What in the world is the motivation behind suddenly charging for parking? 1 - The City of Rochester Hills wants to prioritize park access for its citizens? Charging for parking doesn't keep out non-residents and in fact just causes Rochester Hills citizens to pay more for something they are already paying for. 2 - The park is often extremely crowded so charging for parking may reduce visitor count? If this was the motivation I am confident this strategy is not working. 3 - We want to encourage more families to park in the dirt lot across the street and attempt to cross a highway? I have more faith in humanity than that. Oh, I think I got it! To quote Tim Robinson's sketch 'The Driving Crooner' - "I gotta figure out how to make money on this thing..it's simply TOO GOOD!"

I suggest calling the day before to check the hours before coming. We tried to walk the trail while waiting and it was closed due to flooding in the clinton river. We saw that the beginning of the trail had a massive puddle and the grass was flooded too. We would love to come back to check that out. We went inside at 12pm. One staff member was very nice and opened the door. We saw some turtles on the pathway. We went inside and saw a giant tank. There was fish, turtles, snakes, and more. There was a little play area as well with a race track, books, bones, and toys. My kids had a lot of fun running around and looking at the different tanks. They had a cute little seed station too which I thought was awesome. They had some interactive areas, one where it tells you to count the rings of wood and another to guess the wood type and smell of the item. I think this is perfect for young toddlers. I do believe older kids would love it as well. We will definitely be back with the kids and check out the trail.

I liked looking at the sculptures at the front of the park. They add a nice touch as you're walking along. They're for sale too if anyone's interested in purchasing these cool looking works of art. A must visit whether you're a family looking for children's activities or wanting an area to sit and enjoy a picnic lunch or someone who wants to enjoy a walk on the trail. The park is well kept and clean which gets a high mark from me because I enjoy not only walking along nicely landscaped trails, but taking in the surrounding scenery. There weren't any games in play when we were walking, so it was a quiet and serene walk. But there's plenty to do and see for all ages including being a spectator in the stands for baseball games or sitting on chairs and watching soccer games. This I'm sure will become one of our favorite places to walk and enjoy for years to come. I won't take away any stars, but I will say, that I wish people would pick up their pet's waste along the trails, as we almost stepped in a couple of them. They supply the bags if you forget to bring your own, but please don't let your pets do this on the trail and leave it for others to step in. Also, this is the second park where the soccer teams or spectators are leaving their empty bottles and or trash behind on the grass instead of picking up after themselves when the games are over. So as a gentle reminder, whether you're a player, parent or coach--- keep our parks picked up and clean for everyone to enjoy. It only takes a minute to do your share.

2019-09-18. Grant Park. Utica, MI…read more Nestled amid a residential area in Utica is Grant Park. While not the newest or fanciest of parks, its compact and bountiful. Just east of Van Dyke, Grant Park's footprint is bounded by Nancy Ave to the north, Hanh Ave to the south, Deshon St. to the west, and Grant Park to the east. There are two small parking lots, one off Nancy, and one off Hanh. Every time I bring my kids here there are plenty of people enjoying the public space, yet I never have a problem finding a parking spot. This tells me that many are locals, which is great to see that the city's money is well used. The park is not huge, but they make excellent use of their real estate. Amenities include 2 full size basketball courts, 3 tennis courts, two beach volleyball courts, and two playgrounds; one for the big kids, and one for the kiddies. There are also two large pavilions, one by each parking lot, and the green scape is dotted with mature trees, providing green canopies for those who prefer the shade. A walking path winds through the park, and there are a couple of swing benches by the larger playground. There is even a book house where you're welcome to take a book or leave one. The centerpiece of the playground is the large tubular slide. A rare three storey tube slide, which is the primary reason why we come; that and the rare playground roundabout. There is also a Wendy's within walking distance on Van Dyke for those hot days or when you're craving a frosty. All in all, don't let this mature park fool you. It packs plenty for all ages in a small footprint and would serve any community well. Whether you're looking to get active; improve your skills at Basketball, Volleyball, or Tennis; or simply looking for a relaxing day at the park, Grant Pack can accommodate. I'm definitely a fan, 4 stars. If you would like to experience more, come dine-with-me.yelp.com I'd love to have your company... See you on the swings!
