I've only used it a couple of times including today but it is a really beneficial service, especially when an appointment with your regular doctor would be several days or weeks away. It's sort of in between a scheduled appointment and emergency room visit. You can also set a walk in appointment on line to speed up your check in. When I arrived at the Sterling Heights location, I checked in as a walk in for a shoulder problem. In just a few minutes I was checked in and within five more minutes I was taken back and height, weight, blood pressure, etc, were checked and then I was taken to an examination room. Within another five minutes the doctor came in and we went over my condition and the doctor determined I should have an X-ray to see if anything serious is going on. While posing for my X-ray I had my hand and forearm across my stomach and I was informed that the reason Napoleon posed like this was to hide his deformed hand...interesting trivia, who knew! After completing X-rays I went back to wait for the doctor to review the results. After seeing the doctor, it's nothing serious and I will live; just some slightly torn and irritated tendons around my rotator cuff. I will need to follow up with orthopedics for physical therapy or whatever they recommend to heal. Overall, my visit to the walk in clinic went quickly except for the wait for the X-ray results. And all of the medical staff were professional and pleasant to deal with. But my experience today was a total of 90 minutes from walking in to walking out including examination and X-rays; I've sometimes taken longer than that with a scheduled appointment with my regular doctor.

The receptionist showed no urgency or compassion. Instead, she was rude and even asked why we brought my mother here instead of another hospital. Her behavior was completely unacceptable, especially during such a serious emergency she was wight old lady in the afternoon shift.

They are spread around the metro area so you shouldn't have to go too far. We have used this location a few times in the past but it has been a while. There is no appointment needed but they also include the ability to sign up online to hold your place in the walk-in line. It also shows you how long the estimated wait time is. When you arrive you need to sign in at the counter or by using the kiosk nearby. Then you have a seat and check the electronic screen showing your place in line. I have never experienced longer wait times than they originally estimated. I have used the online system but mostly I just show up. The staff, including the doctors and nurses, are all professional, polite, and very competent in my experience; they quickly discuss your issue and get to the cause and solutions.
