I have been to this Ralphs location a couple of times, and the service I have received at the Starbucks inside has been incredible every single time. I would like to give my applause to the barista, Ruby, who happens to always serves me whenever I visit the Starbucks. One time, I came with my friend who has a nut allergy, and I thoughtfully asked Ruby what items she recommends that don't have any nut ingredients in them. What she did went above and beyond my expectations as she pulled out a laminated paper with all of their location items and details about allergens and preferred diet options. My friend happily ordered an Iced Chai Latte with a Strawberry Matcha Loaf, thanks to the certainty of Ruby. Overall, Ruby is an outstanding barista who never fails to make a memorable experience at this Starbucks. Her bright and welcoming presence always lightens the mood and makes me look forward to my customer experience. She never spells my name wrong on my drinks and always serves them with a smile on her face. Whenever I walk in and see her, I instantly know that my Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato is going to be in good hands. Keep up the good work, Ruby! read more

I am giving one star because I did encounter some great employees today although there was one right when I entered the store at the bakery she was coming to fill up some more bread and I was in front of her and I said oh did you need in here? Great bakery and great bakery staff. Very friendly and willing to help. They have gone above and beyond their basic duties in customer service. Thank you ! Meat department is normally great, sometimes the staff there aren't the friendliest and approachable for help. I bought some steaks for the July 4th and was disappointed that they would cut and sell a steak like this that was $17. It was packaged to look normal and when I took it out it was cut up. I then retrieved Manager Lupe, who responded professionally, reviewed both receipts (mine and my daughter's), and offered an apology. While I appreciate his professionalism, this does not negate the distress caused. My family and I were subjected to unwarranted suspicion, disrespect, and embarrassment, which has left a lasting negative impact. NADINE AND ALL THE FLORISTS NEED ADDITIONAL TRAINING. This could be the worst experience I've ever had at any market, and I honestly blame the management. The group here is ran so poorly, and it shows. I've never seen such disrespectful employees in my life, and more than one occasion. I walked in to buy flowers- granted it was on Valentine's Day / their busiest time of the year for this market. However, their busy is a bit different. This store isn't as hectic or super packed like the stores that I am used to. I would say it normal/ average pace. On 2/14/25, I walked in and asked for a few single stems to pass out at work. I DO THIS ALL THE TIME. I pay extra for wrapping, since I give them out to FIVE separate teachers at work. Nadine, wanted nothing to do with me from the moment I got there. Maybe I'm too smiley, too cheery, (I did have all pink on and I was full of smiles, lol miserable people do not like that) As soon as I walked up to the flower counter she completely ignored me. Nadine told me to wait for 25 mins, literally as I'm standing right in front of her for absolutely no reason, while she's helping anyone and everyone who walks up to the counter, but me. I got sick of waiting, I then told her about my order. When I tell you all I barely got out a sentence before she snapped....she said "well go look, we have some singles out there !" While waving her hand around (kind of like a shoo go away) So, because I'm extremely patient and nice, I go on and look. After a few rounds of the store, I told Nadine they didn't have any singles, and usually they never do, but that is why I go to the counter, pay extra, and buy them. I have been told to let a florists know, and they will wrap them, and that's what I do every time that I come. Maybe this was infuriating to the already agitated worker, because she got even more rude/mad! Another 5 mins passes by, she ROLLED HER EYES and called on the radio again, I'm assuming because I didn't just leave, and they had to deal with me, lol. Nadine called for help from the back. Another employee (older lady in glasses) shows up from the back, super flustered because I assume they were calling her from the back. From the side, i am standing on, I hear them gossiping, about me and my apparently out of this world super crazy order. I explained I just wanted a few long stem roses (singles / wrapped) She begins to get aggressive and says to buy a dozen! Good lord, I DID NOT NEED A DOZEN! Because I didn't want the dozen, she begins to shout "Well SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO THINK WE GIVE OUT THINGS FOR FREE, AND EVERYTHING IS FREE!!!" Literally shouting that to me in Front of all these customers. . at that point I absolutely had it! I was over waiting + being so disrespected for absolutely no reason at all. I went to find a manger. I completely walked away vs blowing up on two grocery workers who hate their job. I can now see why people do end up screaming at entitled workers, who have absolutely no class or respect. Keep In mind they weren't kids, these are two very much older ladies acting like this. I went to find a manager, and that alone took at least an additional 10 more minutes. I'm not sure if this place needs additional staff? managers? A prayer? Because when the manger finally came , and I'm trying to tell the manager what is happening, a crowd of her employees gather so they can ask her their questions. . Some workers wanted to tell her about a phone call, another about some radio? I don't know if she even heard my complaint fully because she had a line of her staff needing her attention. I then ask Valerie what's the code to the restroom. She said she dont know it and told me it's out of order. She rhrn looked at her co worker and grinned like smart ass. No one is ever available to help, when I asked someone if they knew where a product was they just shrugged and said "I don't know". When I asked for the bathroom code they gave me the wrong code and I let them know and they said "I don't know then". Another thing is that the lady giving out samples is very rude. I took a sample and walked away and smelled it before I took a bite and she yelled at me saying "you're supposed to eat it! Not smell it!" And she watched me for a long time. So odd and very rude. Hi Don, I first want to say thay Sara in the flower department is amazing. Not only did I witness her go out of her way for a co-worker at the end of her shift, but she came back to see if I had received assistance. All I needed was two princess balloons filled with helium for my niece's birthday. I asked a young gentleman that was passing by and he stated he did not know how to fill a balloon... Unfortunately, it is hard to find outgoing employees now a days. It seems that basic skills is now non existent. I won't take away stars for that. Sara definitely made up for it and saved the day. Hello, I shop at the Ralphs located at 2230 S Atlantic Blvd, Monterey Park, CA 91754 very often, and I've always loved the customer service there. The employees are consistently friendly, helpful, and respectful, and I've never had a bad experience until today. 11/14/25 & I will not be returning to this location During my visit, I saw a manager, Don Flores, speaking to multiple employees in a very rude, nasty, and demeaning manner. He was repeatedly telling them to "hurry up" and get their tasks done, even though the store was clearly short staffed and the employees were working hard. I was in the store for about an hour and witnessed this behavior several times toward different workers. As a loyal customer, it was disappointing and uncomfortable to see employees who dedicate their time and energy to this company treated that way. Everyone deserves respect, especially people who are working hard to provide for their families. Words can be hurtful, and leadership should set the tone for kindness and professionalism. I wanted to bring this to the attention of higher management because this type of behavior is not acceptable and does not represent the positive environment Ralphs is known for. I hope someone speaks with this manager Don Flores about treating employees with respect, as that ultimately affects morale, customer experience, and the overall work environment. Really quick I came to grab some drinks for my friends party tonight it's almost 9pm and the girl at the register right next to the self check out near the Starbucks was rude as fuck and had attitude. She seemed young and not really polite. She was talking to an another male worker there and seemed occupied with his attention. I asked her if I could have a Don Julio reposado bottle and she send another girl to do it which is fine no big deal but they brought me the wrong bottle and I said oh that's not the one I wanted. I wanted the Don Julio and she had a snappy attitude and said you wanna just show me then so I said sure no problem. I walked over and I showed her they didn't say sorry she seem pissed off about it. I don't know why so I told her OK. I'll wait for you at the register. I went back as she got the bottle. She didn't even let me put in my number for my Ralph's card which fine no big deal but still rude as hell. She also scanned both bottles and almost charged me $90 but fixed it and just handed me the receipt really rude. The part of me wanted to make a big deal about it, but I'd rather just put this review and just say do better Ralphs. I know that it's hard to find good workers but the way that she talk to me was not OK and how she treated me and couldn't even find a tequila bottle I think was rude when she knew where it was, but she wanted me to go do it and gave me the meanest attitude. On June 15, 2025, at 9:25 PM, I entered Ralph's for my regular grocery shopping. When I asked an employee named Anthony at the self-checkout about the availability of the restroom, he informed me that it was out of service. Doubting this, I went to the back where the restroom was located and discovered that someone was occupying it. After waiting for that person to exit, I found the restroom to be in perfect condition, leading me to realize that Anthony had been untruthful and had denied me access. THE CASE OF A SMIRKING RALPH'S CASHIER: "I can do whatever I want." This Ralphs has a history of discriminating. Take it from me--it has happened repeatedly. Upon checking out, I realized that my tight budget meant that I had to take a few items out before paying. The cashier--Angel, according to their name tag--was not having it. I understand: long lines, a crowded market and a cashier who was overwhelmed with the stress. It was visible; he was anxious. I have empathy, but what happened next was not cool at all--in fact, it was discrimination at its best. When Angel called his manager over, she shamed me for taking items out my final near purchase. I get it, more work for them, but it was not my intention. The manager began shamming me in jest and in return, also in jest, I said, "Well, buy them for me!" Immediately, this manager said, "Why don't you buy my groceries?" If you, as a Ralph's employee, are going to jokingly address a customer in a sarcastic and humorous way, cool. But you must take the return humor in stride, too. Or better yet, do not joke with customers at their expense. It's not professional and when it comes to joking about a customer's financial profile, that is utter discrimination and humiliation. Well Angel, I hope you had a good laugh. Then, when I was ready to make my final purchase, my card was declined. My bank placed my card in a lock and this agitated the cashier. I asked "Angel" to chill and please let me clear my bank card with a tap on my phone app--a mere few seconds to confirm my transactions with my bank. But Angel became even more irritated and snapped with, "What I need you to do is have money in your account." When I told Angel it was inappropriate to speak to me or anyone like that, they shot back with, "I can do whatever I want." (I HAVE VIDEO AND I AM SURE RALPH'S HAS VIDEO, TOO). In the end, after being spoken to like that, I left the Ralph's that often is plagued with rude, unprofessional and demeaning employees. (Let me also say: there are also some AMAZING EMPLOYEES THERE WHO ARE ROCK STARS!) Shame on Angel for disrespecting and discriminating against a longtime customer. Shame on the manager who made negative comments for leaving a few items off my near final purchase. And lastly, I am extremely disappointed in top manager Don Flores for promising me a while ago that he would make sure his employees would behave better. I love shopping here in person. But I'm extremely upset at how they've been treating my mother when she orders online. Every time she orders, one or two items are sent separately. She always has to pay extra for two trips. Often, she pays for the second trip but it never arrives. My mother is elderly and depends on food delivery. It's saddening to know that companies take advantage of the elderly in order to make an extra dollar. I care for my mother and am almost always there when she orders groceries. Nothings a bargain anymore. I used to buy the cheapest salad at the deli counter, almost always cole slaw which is mostly cabbage, the cheapest ingredient. I haven't seen cole slaw dip below $6.99 a pound once in 2023. Potato Salad $7.99 a pound. Chicken breasts are $2.99 each, and half the size in previous years, but no more tender. Dry as the Sahara desert. Honestly you need a pair of tweezers to extract an ounce of meat out of a puny breast. Awful stale looking enchiladas. So pretty much what everyone else is saying . Poor customer service ! I came in today to order a 16 pc chicken meal. I noticed the chicken was pretty old and dry , so I asked the guy for more chicken and was told" only legs and thighs" since I noticed there was no white meat. I asked him if they were putting more to fry and again he rudely said "only legs and thighs". It was about 3:00pm on a Sunday so it was kinda odd that the chicken was gone. So I walked away and asked for a store manager who did help me. He walked to the deli department and had someone else help me. Everything cost more now, corporations make a huge profit and don't appreciate or pay workers what they're worth. All that being said, the employees here are rude including the manager. Maybe not all managers and maybe not all employees but it sure seems like it. Lines are always long, two registers open and one is for 15 items or less. Workers seem angry and unhappy to be there. One rude employee in particular, while working the self check out, I hear her arbitrarily asking people if they need a bag. I finish paying for my things and paid for a bag but she was helping another customer. I didn't want to hold up the line so I put my things in the little black basket and walk towards her. I ask for a bag. She then says"did you request one?" which means did you pay the 10 cents. I said yes. I feel the ask sounds so rude and accusatory. Was she going to check my receipt? What if I said no, would she then make me give her a dime waisting my time and hers? I really dislike going to that Ralphs. I will drive a bit farther and go to the one close to Garvey. Employees are friendly and helpful. At self check out when I ask for a bag, they give it with a smile. I think most people are honest and wouldn't ask for a bag unless they paid for it. A huge company like Kroger is making so much money that a free bag here and there will not hurt their profits one bit. I come here almost every Sunday, but I haven't been lately because I've been busy. When I came by this week, I was surprised to see that the store completed much of its renovations. The floor is no longer a brown orange shade of concrete. It's just the natural color of concrete now. The store's a bit brighter as a result. The walls have been repainted and the signs redone. It's pretty tasteful and more "local" since they reference nearby attractions. The bakery and deli sections have been redone to look more modern. Where there used to be open-display refrigerators, there are now glass doors. The produce shelves for are new curved outward a bit. The produce stands are wooden now and have nothing underneath them. The store just looks cleaner and less cluttered overall. Looks aside, this store seems to be very right-sized. It seems to be double the size of the Ralphs up the street near the 10 Freeway, and it's about the size of several 99 Ranch Markets and Superior Grocers in the area, so it can carry a wide variety of items. The parking is not a problem either. On price and variety, Ralphs does a great job most of the time. Like most large grocery chains, it makes money on volume. The markup isn't that high. But compared to other markets in the area, it depends. Bananas are slightly cheaper at ethnic markets. I've found that generally chips, soda, dips, yogurts, cookies, and eggs are slightly cheaper at Target. However, Target doesn't have much fresh produce and often has empty shelves. Ralphs does a great job at having a wider array of fresh items, keeping those items in stock, and having attractive sales. I mean, Target won't sell strawberries, grapes, or peaches for a dollar a pound. Ralphs will. This Ralphs also has a small ethnic foods aisle for basic ethnic items like Latin spices or Asian soy sauce, but ethnic markets remain best for large bags of rice and things like that. Service wise, I've never had a problem. I almost never wait in line since I use the self-checkout. The most I've ever waited is likely one minute. I will say that I've sometimes noticed expired items still in the store, mostly dips and hummus, but that problem unfortunately isn't limited to this grocery store. All in all though, this Ralphs is probably the best grocery chain store for miles. read more

My recent issue was purchasing expired protein shakes :( I guess i should have checked beforehand but placing expired shakes on the shelves from oct 11 2020 isn't acceptable. This isn't the 1st time something like this happens to some of my family members or myself here at this location and frankly I should be more cautious but commmme onnnnnn!!
