An unexpected gem!! I was shooting a film in the area and this was the closest and best rated hotel and it makes sense why. Meticulously clean hotel top to bottom. Wish there were a zero star option! This "hotel" is disgusting. The hallways smell, the pillows are awful and tiny as throw pillows, the toilet is low enough for a child and I have a fused spine! The reception area I'd filthy and the staff cold and uncaring. The carpets are warn and there was water on the bathroom floor because the toilet seal is bad. Their "breakfast was scrambled eggs made from POWDERED EGGS, awful cheap sausages and sugary pastries, the coffee machine slowly spit out bitter coffee and, due to the slow process, there was a line! Plastic plates and utensils and tiny napkins. The only nice thing I can say is that I checked out at 10am, after a single night, but they refused a refund and, essentially, stole $1,000 of my money! I was given room (#C20) right across from the breakfast Cafe which was noisy all morning. The room next door was a short stay ( 3/4 hrs room) which people were slamming the door all night and the housekeeper was super noisy just cleaning the room. The parking lot was too small and the additional parking lot which was a block away was a brutal walk and too far for me because I'm disabled. The outside of the hotel is being renovation which I wasn't informed over the phone before I made reservations. The rooms aren't handicap accessible. Items are too hard to reach in the bathroom. This hotel will always be special to me came here to celebrate my anniversary because they have jacuzzis in the room and was very pleased. Was expecting a run down hotel in The Bronx but no when you walk in it's very clean a little electric fire place in the wall was greeted by front desk staff Joceline who was very kind. The outside of the hotel can stand for improvement ( that is the parking lot grounds needs a paint color makeover as well as the front of the outside of the hotel. It was a turnoff to see. The staff was ok. They could smile and be more cheerful more. The breakfast I was a little disappointed. Belgian waffles was served without bacon and eggs but it was served hot YES!. I love the room I was in. The linen was super clean white and the pillows and bed were OH SO COMFORTABLE. I loved the Kerurig coffee and chocolate (and tea) maker as well. This place is disgusting. It feels unsafe. As soon as you walk in to check in, there's glass wall between you and the person at the desk, like a bank, so it feels like someone is going to rob the place. Then if you want a drink in the middle of the night, there's the "Ramada Mart" which your key doesn't even work to open just so you can see what food and beverages they offer, so you have to ask the jaded, frontdesk person with an attitude to let you in. Then they won't even let you charge your drink to the room, like a normal hotel, or even pay with a card. You have to pay with cash likes it's the 18th century. Location is great. Parking is Horrible. No access to handicap rooms; multiple steps with non handicap ramps. No one to help you with luggage for handicap person. Room was dirty with bugs on the bed, dirty toilet and a dirtier bathroom without toilet tissue. Remote control didn't work. They moved us out of our room in the middle of our stay because the front desk forgot to reserve the next day for us. I spent ~$200 on the room reservation and was not impressed when I pulled into the parking lot. However, it was nice they even had a parking lot. The lobby smells like cigarette smoke and the place looked really run down. I was surprised to see that the room was actually nice and looked very modern/up to date. I stayed in room 104 and woke up with 3 huge bed bug bites. I was so itchy during my interview the whole next day I couldn't stop scratching. It's still so itchy even after 4 days! I'm usually not one to leave bad reviews at places or call to complain but I've never been so disgusted after leaving a hotel before so I'm leaving this review here for anyone else that might be affected in the future. I'm traumatized and so afraid to even stay at hotels now. Make sure to cover all of your skin when you go to sleep in a hotel bed. Keep your luggage, bags, and clothes off the beds!!! My job requires me to travel to the Bronx for 2, 3, or 4 days in a row. I have used the Ramada Bronx, on the Norhtern tip of Co-op City,dozens of times. Considering it is one of the least expensive hotels in the area, it is well worth the stay, especially if you don't need a lot of extra services. Parking can be tricky, especially if you come in the evening, and pulling out can take a few attempts and readjustments. There is a small adjacent lot on the other side if the lot is full...you just have to haul your bags around the corner. The check-in and check-out are rather seamless, although if a line forms for the single, glass-enclosed desk clerk, it may be a wait. Save you and everyone else some time, and have your credit card & license handy. The rooms themselves are quite spacious and clean, although, if you are staying more than one day, your room may not be serviced if you come back in the early afternoon. Still, the housekeeping staff were always friendly, trusting and accommodating. They offer a free continental breakfast, which, because I have to leave for work at 5 am every day,I've never tried. On occasion I here some loud conversation from an adjoining room, but nothing to complain about, considering you are in the Bronx. Street noises are also noteable, but not terrible. The beds are comfortable, and the sheets are fresh. The bathrooms were always clean, and they have plenty of towels. The shampoos, soaps etc. were fine. Not A-1, but this isn't the Plaza. There is a large movie theater, several shops and places to eat within a mile, and once you learn your way around the loops of Co-op City, the selection grows! Their business room is tight, and not air-conditioned, so if you have a laptop, I'd bring it. One of my peeves with this place is that yes, their Wi-fi is free, but if you are not in constant use, you have to sign in over and over. I've been to hotels where you one sign-in is good for as long as your laptop or smartphone is on the premises. Not the case here. Although the area isn't glamorous, I have never felt unsafe. I wouldn't wander the streets after nightfall by myself, of course, but you can say the same about any metropolitain area. All in all, you definitely get what you pay for here. read more

I must give big props and a Thank You to Tyesha, who works at the front desk. My mom was on her way to come met me at the hotel when the cab she was in got into a huge accident. Tyesha tried to call my room multiple times to inform me but I had just flown in from a redeye and was knocked out cold. She eventually came to my room to get me and she walked me to where the accident was. She did not have to do all that, but I am very thankful she did! By the way, my mom ended up being ok, thank God! Roaches everywhere in my room. Was unsafe to sleep with my child the roach was crawling on the pillow. I tried to not be trouble I called feont desk he came up with a spray and said there where no more rooms. The front desk couldn't move me to another room until 430 am And charged me half price after not getting any sleep all night. The manager wasn't reachable even know the front desk said they would be in at nine. Which is why I stayed until 9 but still no manager. read more

My wife heard about 'Ramada by Wyndham' through Reservations.com when she was looking for a decent hotel with basic amenities for us just to sleep at while making a short whirlwind emergent trip to visit her older brother, a Jesuit priest at the Fordham University, who had just been diagnosed with stage Iv cancer and a poor prognosis. Much to our surprise, for such a very reasonable rate, our room was newly renovated, & very clean, with all the usual high tech amenities and a most comfortable firm King size mattress for much needed restful nights' sleep. We had flown all day Saturday May 1, 2021 from California to LGA, arriving late Saturday night at 'Ramada by Wyndham' where we were very hospitably received by Jocelyn at the front desk. We followed her recommendation for one of the best & largest hot thin crust pizzas we've ever had from a nearby family pizza parlor delivered to our room, and then had ourselves an amazingly comfortable & restful night's sleep. We slept-in, took continental breakfast ,and then made our emotional & prayerful visit on Sunday May 2, at 11 AM. Afterwards we had a leisurely dinner at a great Italian restaurant called Enzo's on Arthur Avenue and then went back to the hotel to turn in early for a good night's sleep again before having to wake-up at 3 AM to be ready for a 4 AM pick up to LGA for a 7:15 AM flight out on Monday, May 3. Our receptionist, Jocelyn, as well as our housemaid were both very pleasant , kind & efficient, joyfully accommodating all of our needs throughout our stay. In particular, I was very impressed by Jocelyn's response to an urgent request we made the night before our departure. We asked if we could access continental breakfast before 4 AM on the morning of our departure, since breakfast was not served per usual until 6 AM in the mornings. Jocelyn immediately contacted the 'night man' who kindly & generously allowed me to pack our own breakfast 'to go bag' of whatever we wanted that night before departure! Again, we want to thank Jocelyn & all the staff for all their kindness & gracious accommodations! We greatly appreciate your making a difficult trip much more tolerable & pleasant. Me and my husband have date nights on Tuesday's. Since covid-19 it's been kind of hard to do a lot since things are either closed or not suitable enough to be around many people. So we decided to try this hotel out since it had a Jacuzzi. Upon arrival we checked in and didn't like the way the jacuzzi looked and asked to be switched to another room. The following room was cool but the tub was a bit small. So we were then directed back to the orbit room on the second floor and management had housekeeping come clean the tub so our satisfaction. Once getting situated and settled into the tub we realized the jets weren't working accordingly and the water only went up to a certain level. As we sat in the jacuzzi trying to enjoy the low pressured jets cold water started spraying which then turned hot and it burned me and my husband. We thought well maybe it's censored so let's try not to move. Cold water started coming out again and turned hot once more. By now we were both over it and the night was ruined. Wasn't as enjoyable as we anticipated and we won't be coming back. It was over priced and definitely not a bang for our buck. read more

I paid 200$ for a room to be startled awake every 10 minutes by extremely loud drilling noises. I thought a car ran into the building or something. This started up at 9am. I called the front desk in total confusion asking what the hell was going on and she offered to move me to another room. Sooo checkout is at 11... what the hell is the point of that? I'm expected to pack up my stuff, move to a different room, fall back to sleep (which wouldn't happen to begin with) and sleep for another hour? Worst customer service and experience ever. Not even a partial refund. Complete and utter garbage. I would never go back or recommend this place to anyone. They don't give a crap about you at all. For the location to be secluded it wasn't a bad stay. WiFi was good. It was quiet. Room clean. Didn't deal with staff but small interaction was cool. There's vending machines so no breakfast or food included. They do offer tea and coffee in the front entrance. There's a parking lot out front. I would give a ZERO if I could. I was going into NY for a wedding. I booked via a 3rd party and got a discounted rate. I called the hotel ahead of time and asked what the hold would be and I was told that the hold is the same amount as the room fee. So my room was approximately $300 and the hold fee would be an additional $300. I was told that if I paid cash for my room there would be no hold fee placed on any card. Perfect. My trip was memorial day weekend and traveling from VA was horrific so I ended up going straight to the wedding without checking into the hotel. I called the hotel to let them know that I would be checking in very late as well as paying cash for my reservation. I was told that the note would be placed on my reservation. The wedding ended late, close to midnight. Wedding guests weren't sure that my reservation was still being held. I called and I was told that my reservation was cancelled when they couldn't successfully charge my card for the reservation. I told them that I called earlier and explained the situation and I was told that there were no notes on my reservation. Also, at this point they were sold out and even if they had rooms, I had a discounted rate that they couldn't honor and rooms were starting at $250 for the night. By now it's after midnight. My 2 day reservation was $328 total, including taxes and fees. I was not prepared to pay that amount. So, at this time of night I begin to drive from hotel to hotel. I continue to receive the same news, sold out mostly but if there were rooms they were starting at $200+ per night. I even went to the Ramada and the young lady at the front desk was less than pleasant and seemed bothered that I would come there after she already spoke to me on the phone. At 3am I began to give up and seeing as to how it wasn't my family's wedding that I was attending, I did not feel comfortable calling the new bride and groom at 3am to tell them I had no place to go for the night as they were full accommodating other family/friends from out of town. I ended up sleeping in my car to wait until Sunday check-in and get a room at a hotel. Luckily at around 6am I went into one of the first hotels I visited to use the restroom and the same guy from earlier that night was still there. He had a room from someone that never came for their reservation and for the room from around 7am Sunday morning to Monday morning checkout he charged me $170. He was my hero that night, I actually started crying. The hotel and room was even much nicer than what I observed when I went to the Ramada and it included breakfast, so this is what they mean when they say everything happens for a reason. I had plans in the city on Sunday and Monday so I did not want to just make the drive back home prematurely. Everything worked out, but I am still on the hook for the cancelled reservation at the Ramada and I am so appalled! I'm currently trying to work that out with the 3rd party vendor that I purchased the reservation through. Anyway, I will never, ever, ever stay at this hotel. read more

Disclaimer: This is a pretty whiny review, which I don't usually do, but in this instance I feel perfectly justified. I don't think my expectations (customer service?) are particularly outlandish, and honestly, it really scares me that a reviewer says this is the best hotel in the Bronx... So. I stayed here the night before an interview, and as soon as I stepped in through the entrance, problems ensued. First, the lady behind the counter (henceforth dubbed "front desk lady") can't find my reservation. As it turns out, they had booked me for a different night entirely. Fine, whatever, I can deal. But then she tells me that they only have jacuzzi rooms available and it costs an additional $30 per night. She won't honor the rate that she quoted me over the phone when I originally booked, even though this was an error on their part. At this point, I'm a little annoyed. And then it registers: wait, $30 extra for...a jacuzzi room? The only jacuzzis I've encountered in hotels are either the ones by the pool, the old school wooden ones outside your room at resorts, or baths with jacuzzi jets. I am informed that although my room won't smell like cigarettes, it is designated as a smoking room because "people sometimes like to light candles". Oh, dear Lord. Front desk lady just stares at me after this, before looking past me to a man who's standing behind me, "Can I help you?" UM HI, FRONT DESK LADY, I'M STILL HERE!! Yes, please, allow me to pay you $30 extra for your weird jacuzzi room!! As I walk into my room, I find a king size bed to my left, and directly across from it, a FULL ON INDOOR JACUZZI, right in the room, the three walls surrounding it lined with mirrors. You can decide for yourself whether this is a feature you appreciate. Also, the room totally smells like cigarettes. That night, I call front desk to arrange for a cab, and front desk lady tells me I can just get one the morning of my interview by calling front desk (at which point, I wonder: aren't YOU front desk?), and that the cabs arrive within 5 minutes. Fine, whatever, rolling with the punches and all that. So I call again the next morning half an hour before I need the cab. But instead of calling and arranging it for me, as ALL OTHER HOTELS I've ever stayed do, front desk lady simply patches me through to the car service where I am put on hold for 15 min. Just ....on hold. Never even get to talk to a human. There's a reason I called the night before!! So I hang up, pack my stuff, and hustle down to yell at front desk. Front desk lady calls the cab company for me this time, but my cab never shows up despite multiple reassurances from front desk lady that it will only be "another 5 minutes". I had to hitch a cab ride with another girl who happened to be interviewing elsewhere!! Learned my lesson. Just call for my own cab next time. Got it. Other pearls of wisdom: -The sheets on my bed were torn in multiple places -The shower didn't drain well so I was wading in a swamp of dusky soap water by the end of my shower. -Did I mention the smell of cigarettes permeating the air and every inch of fabric in the room? This is by far the worst hotel that I've ever stayed at, and this includes this crappy $40/day motel in Los Angeles I stayed in that had cockroaches in the bathroom. SO im ALWAYS using yelp I always go places but im too lazy to write a review lol , im a city girl and I love finding new places to eat and etc so my boyfriends birthday is on Tuesday and we decided to get a room just to get away and have some privacy to celebrate his birthday a little earlier ...this is not our first time finding a place for the night, but upon arrival there was a couple in the front just standing there talking ( normal right? ) my boyfriend and I walked in and proceeded towards the front desk we had already booked a room online the lady there was nice I wish I knew her name but ! speaking of the couple they were in the front arguing apparently the guy had cheated on his gf because eventually she started crying her eyes out asking if he really slept with "her" I felt really bad for the girl but that's a whole other story, the woman at the front gave us the room key and told us about our room 's location and breakfast which is served down in the c level 6-10 am (checkout is 11am btw) anyway, we came upstairs and found our room the place was clean none the less we bought some food before we got here so we turned on the television which is Cablevision (they have a few on demand channels for free which is cool) we watched love and hip hop since I missed the second episode lol and started to eat our food, we got a jacuzzi/smoking room which was $185 for the night, the bathroom was really clean and everything seemed cool until my boyfriend accidentally dropped something and lifted up the bed sheets to find it and we stumbled across a magnum condom wrapper -__-, then we decided to get in the jacuzzi which didn't work I mean it filled up with water but the little button you press at the top was jammed or broken or who knows so that kinda sucked because I wanted a nice relaxation time in the jacuzzi room because I mean that's what we paid extra for right? anyway I got out and got into the bed because I was over it and I spotted a brown spot on the blanket ( it honestly looks like make up to me) but either way whoever cleans the room is lazy as *fu** now im forced to believe the person (whoever they may be) didn't feel like changing the sheets or the blanket which kinda pisses me off... There's a ironing board and iron in the room, free wifi, mini coffee machine, soap and lotion and plenty of towels but at this point im ready to just go to sleep I just had to write a review because im just trying to help the next person who might be thinking about coming here ..I still enjoyed my time with my boyfriend and despite everything the place is actually okay and decent if you need a night to get away or weekend or whatever if you feel like spending or if you only have 200$ to spend just bring your own blankets probably... overall it's cool I guess but then the longer I stayed the more I started finding new shit that pissed me off so NO I will not be coming here again unless this is completely like the last option...LAST OPTION. read more

Stayed for work. Day one room was close to office and window into entrance porch. It was loud and lit by porch lights- I barely slept. It was not off to a great start but Jocelyn at the front desk is a wonder. She took care of everything -arranging for a new (Great!) room and making sure it worked for me. Another issue arose later in the week and she solved it quickly and professionally. Have to say the breakfast is "meh" and there is a perfumy smell from what they clean with that I didn't love but the extraordinary customer service would make me want to come back. read more

Our stay at the Ramada Bronx was an amazing experience! Everything was sanitary and pleasant from check-in to checkout and we had no disturbances or rude encounters. The hotel even allowed delivery services to come to our room door! The best part was the amazing and friendly service of the breakfast attendant, Victoria. Stayed 2 nights as we visited the zoo ( about 15 min by cab). We needed to leave our luggage 2nd day while we went to zoo and for a reasonable fee paid for a later checkout. I stayed for two nights stay at the Ramada Inn Bronx. First concern was the room charge on my credit card when I reserved the room. When I checked in there was a pending charge for one night when I checked in I paid for Both nights in full but the pending charge on my credit card is still there a week later. 2nd issue; I purchased some food to eat and place them inside the refrigerator. I went out and came back in the refrigerator had stopped working. Ice built up on the freezer portion melted all over my food messed up the entire meals. I had to called the front desk twice voicing my concerns. Housekeeping showed up after midnight and explained if it happens again they can replace the refrigerator but they refused to just replace the refrigerator. They offered to give me a new room but at the time I had a newborn child and did not want to relocate all of my things since it was so late at night. If you have an SUV or a large vehicle parking is extremely tight. Overall with my issues I had asked the primary manager to give me a call but he never did. Very disappointed. read more

This place is a mess. Stood here 2 times and both times were horrible. I paid for late check out at 1pm and at 1150 am the housekeepers were banging on my door like the FBI saying it's time to get out of the room. The second time I paid for a jacuzzi suite and only ran the jacuzzi for 5 minutes and the person from the front desk came banging on the door saying to shut it off because it's leaking. What's the point of getting a jacuzzi suite if I cannot use the jacuzzi. This is the worse Hotel in the Bronx, te customer service is terrible I booked reservation when I arrived my reservation was not able to be found, I stood in their lobby for nearly 2hrs, I then explained to the receptionist Tyesha she saw that my card was charged the reservation people called her and gave her the confirmation number several times and she still wasn't able to find My reservation their no manger on site to further assist me The so called "manger"Roger Tewar Is the worse manager I have ever dealt with he's rude and very unprofessional don't even know why he's the highest level of authority for the hotel because his customer service stinks wouldn't reccomend anyone going to this place I was charged twice for an over night stay and still have gotten reimbursed and he still Hasn't resolved the issue its so bad to the point there was a customer who' saw the situation and told the receptionist that her manager need to be aware of the issue and she then tried to flurt with him and he still thought in my opinion I shouldn't have had to pay twice and still didn't do anything to resolve the issue still awaiting a call I have to call there Theres never any mangers on duty to resolve issues as this one I am livid they lie to be double charged he wouldnt even accomdate me with the another stay he word were "thats out of the question" who's says that to an upset customer that received terrible poor service. read more
