They lose one star for No gym, no pool and no breakfast. But there is great value if you like a spacious home-like suite. For a family you can't beat this place. Our suite has a separate living room and bedroom. Everyone has somewhere to go. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this motel and stay here again.

This season my wife, 2 children and I have enjoyed many memorable experiences thanks to the…read morePlamondon White Sands resort and there amazing staff! We camped in a travel trailer almost every weekend this season (many times extending the weekends). On occasion we would spend full weeks there, leaving was always sad. The campground and facilities (Park, washrooms, camp sites, ...) are all very well maintained. We use full service (Water/Sewer/Electric) and never had any issues. Every morning we see staff walking down the roads and into empty campsites cleaning up any garbage / debris that may be visible. The camping season in Alberta is just too short and we are glad we invested in Plamondon White Sands. We arrived May long weekend and plan to camp until late September. The rules in place are more than fair and provide a safer environment for families to enjoy their experiences. I am very thankful that there is a strict speed limit enforced, this makes things safer, quieter and keeps the dust down. We are very thankful for the new ice-cream machine (My kids are spoiled with the number of choices), it's a great way to cool off on those hot summer days and also just to treat yourself (we are on vacation after all). We have made life lasting friends at the campground both with the other campers as well as the staff. During the start of the season I did not have the correct socket to insert my hot water plug, fortunately the staff were more than willing to help! I have borrowed ladders, and other misc. tools throughout the season. The staff in the office are always friendly and knowledgeable. The security guards are very friendly. Every employee (whether there delivering wood, cleaning recycling/garbage bins, cleaning washrooms, watering the road, office administration, security, etc...) always wave hello and ask how we were doing. It just makes everything more comfortable. I think the resort is family owned and run, and it shows as everyone works together. The community of Plamondon and Lac La Biche also has a lot to offer families including the Pow Wow Days, and Mud Bogs. Fishing on the lake is very enjoyable, I have caught several Pike and Walleye. Depending on the wind direction, swimming can be hit and miss, but we did swim a few occasions and loved it! Froggers in Plamondon server great pizza.
