Enjoyment and safe shooting is the goal. HHR is able to sustain unlimited shooting of game because it is located in a mild winter climate and seasonal bird mortality is not a factor. We brought a blanket along because it can get very cold, but nothing unbearable. We were able to see the wide open views. We could see Miles and miles of vineyards and wildlife. Our carriage ride lasted about 25min and it was worth the $40 for the four of us. After our carriage ride we were able to settle down right next to the coziest fire pit. We had chairs and tables provided for our belongs. Wood would brought to us constantly and we were checked on frequently. Bathrooms were available and were able to sit there over an hour. They readily answered our many questions about the vineyards, the wineries, and the region. We visited four wineries, and at each stop we were escorted into a tasting room. Our guides and the horses waited patiently outside at each stop, and there was room on the wagon for our purchases. Midway through the afternoon, we enjoyed a delicious luncheon they had prepared, in one of the tasting rooms. We're excited to bring friends and family next summer!

There is a large sign prominently displayed on the front that advertises espresso that has drawn me to park and come inside. I stopped in both times in hopes of indulging on an espresso drink in the afternoon hours and have been utterly disappointed and heartbroken when I parked, went inside, and was greeted with a sign that declared that the espresso stand was closed. I am very unhappy that there appears to be no one available to operate and serve espresso either time I have taken the time to stop in. The lodge looks like a nice place but I feel that it is very deceptive to advertise espresso so prominently outside and not have it available for customers. I'm really uncertain if I will ever take the time to stop in for anything at this point after being so disappointed.
