Great place to stay, good food at the lodge and a well stocked bar. The chili is very good and they make there own pizza which is fabulous. They also make there own hot sauces and deserts,(get the brownie). The owners Andy and Karen work very hard to make sure you have a wonderful stay. We really enjoyed our stay.

The place is great and the owners are very friendly. The entire campground is still a bit under construction but that doesn't really matter. The lodge bar is a little pricey but what isn't pricey in Alaska. My only issue is the water. The water is definitely not potable and it actually stained my RV toilet and we had to scrub the schmutz off. The cabins that you can rent look really cool, the lodge itself has a good vibe and it has a nice wide running stream on the property. I enjoyed the stay just make sure your water filters work before staying.

Great chili and they have an array of hot sauces. (These were my favorite)

On a road trip and found a couple RV parks close together and just randomly picked this one. So glad we did!! The owners are just the nicest people you'll ever meet. It's also a lodge with spectacular food and a full bar! The sites back up to a river that has fish. The lodge serves great bison and elk burgers. Must stop!

We were traveling through and looking for a campsite in the area that was on the water. These folks set us up at one of their new creekside campsites where my husband fished, our lab played in the water, and we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the creek rapids, which drowned out any and all highway noise! Add to the experience that Andy and Karen are attentive and friendly hosts, we had a few drinks at the bar and learned the history of the roadhouse. I hated that we had already eaten sandwiches in the camper because they offer homemade chili with an enormous variety of hot sauces for customers to add at will. But, what I'd really like to try is their homemade pizza. Next time! This place is only 110 miles from our home and we'll be back just for overnight getaways, for sure!

What a great campground!! We were looking to head north to close out our summer camping festivities…read moreand stumbled upon Tolsona Wilderness Campground online. It's a rather large campground with water and electric at many sites, along with a single dump station in the common area. Every site is along the River, which is fabulous too. In all reality, I don't think there are any bad spots, but we liked ours, which was away from the common areas. While we loved seeing all the kids playing on the playground and the creek, we were there for the peace & quiet. We appreciated being able to book online. The map showed us spots where our rig would fit and that was helpful, although we weren't able to fit in the spot requested after all. I walked to the office to see about another site and they were very accommodating. Turns out my husband saw a site that would be perfect and not only was it available, it was indeed perfect!!! We took note of the spot number and will definitely be requesting that spot again. In the common area, there is the office, which has snacks and campground memorabilia, there is a coffee shack with snacks, playground and picnic are. They also rent float tubes for the creek. While there is limited WiFi, there is no cell service and the WiFi doesn't reach the majority of the grounds. If you must have reception, I highly recommend you bring your Starlink. They do a family theme every weekend apparently... which we were unaware of. It was a little odd when we saw campsites with Halloween decorations in August followed by children in costumes coming to our site to trick or treat. We didn't love strangers strolling through our campsite as we were trying to decompress for the weekend and ended up feeling obligated to share our weekend treats, which selfishly was annoying, but at the same time, adorable to see the grateful children's faces light up! We'll definitely be back... next time I'll check their calendar to see what the festivities are if we don't want to partake, I'll figure out some way to make notice of that at our site.

Once again we had our annual Ham radio group picnic at Tolsona Wilderness, and once again it was…read morewonderful. The owners, Mike and Cathy, went above and beyond to be accommodating and were quick to resolve any issues that came up. The campground has all the amenities one could want, even an expresso stand! If you have the opportunity, whether you are traveling through the state as a visitor or an Alaskan resident looking for new places to explore, make sure your plans include a stay at Tolsona Wilderness.

We met so many good people here and are going to make this a ritual. Pro's Potable water and Dump site on the grounds. River front views Free WiFi Little Mountain View store within 2 miles. CLEAN Bathrooms on site Clean campground in general. CON's WiFi is ONLY available in the room next to the office AND will not reach the campground. This is a PRO obviously but for some it would not be especially if you have kids. SPOT 30 has electrical hook up but bring an extension cord with you. Also, if you have dogs, spot 30 isn't the spot for you. This is right in the heart where everyone walks by with their dog's, kids flying by on the bikes, and Wheelers. All of the people coming in, tow their campers right by you which makes for a dusty environment. Additionally, very very limited privacy. EVERYONE can see what you have or are having for dinner. Overall, great campground. I recommend but do not recommend site 30!

Don't sleep on this campground the fishing is good, the eagle watching incredible, areas of water that are safe for the kids to play. The owners and camp host are incredible and truly care about your experience during your stay. Tyler is an incredible guide, kids think he is hilarious. Sites and charters are reasonably priced, cannot say enough good things. Already booked for next year, thanks for the memories guys! Also my use of the word incredible is intense I know, but it's just that good!
