I wanted to take my family dip netting, as none of us have ever done it before. The Copper River is legendary for the fishing, but can be dangerous if you don't know what you're doing. Therefore, I booked AK eXpeditions to ensure a fun and SAFE experience. The equipment, captain, and deck hand were great! I felt totally comfortable having my wife and sons there (10 and 12 years old) fishing with me. Everyone caught fish, even though we were all newbies. My only complaint about the day was finding the boat. The launch site had changed from the original instructions, and it wasn't clear to me were to go. Driving your vehicle on the river bank is super sketchy and chaotic. I ended up running up and down the river bank for 30 minutes looking for the crew. It would be better to meet clients at an easily identifiable location on the main road, and then personally escort them to the right location . . . particularly when someone is forking out the money to reserve the whole boat. read more

A buddy and I have taken Mark's charter three years running now and we'll do it again this year. Mark and his crew work hard to put you on fish, we've always done well and have been pretty fortunate. It is a lot like fishing anywhere - when there are fish in the water, it is great! If there aren't any fish in the water, it is not so great. So, you pay your money and you take your chances. For the price of the charter, gas, five hours on the river, and a solid day of processing fish afterwards, we end up with a freezer full of fish for the whole year. After that, the rest of the summer I can just fish for fun. It is a pretty remarkable opportunity if you ask me. read more

Me and a friend went to chitna to dipnet for salmon off the bank. There's only a few locations you can dip net there without tying yourself off on a steep bank. After 3 hours and only catching 1 fish, we decided to try AK Expeditions. Wow what an experience! We limited out with 160 fish for the boat in 45 minutes and every one caught a king! I had a 35 lb king myself. I will gladly book a charter to spend more time with family and friends and less being underwhelmed. These guys know s was hat they're doing.
