We were there for Sunday brunch few times. The foods and the price were good. I really don't mind to visit it again.

Had a very good experience ordering at this Five Guys restaurant in Berlin. I'm still nervous to…read moreorder in German so I'm very glad the cashier spoke English. The menu (other than the toppings) were also in English. I was able to say which toppings I wanted in English and it was fine. Unlike most European places, they have a soda machine for free refills plus all of the fancy syrups. The free peanuts are always a hit and the Cajun fries were as good as I remember them. The burger tasted just like a Five Guys burger back in the states. Expensive but worth the price. We paid €31 for the whole meal (regular and a little cheeseburger, regular Cajun fries and a regular soda).

Our Craving was somewhat Satisfied after an extended And Laborious process of Ordering then waiting and Watching the inefficiency. I ordered in German but Needed to Speak English to receive my order In a timely fashion. The Staff was Confused as Well as the Customers. Two separate Shake Orders Combined into one shake, Then re-ordered and still Wrong and Sweet. The 'Cajun' Fries were unpleasantly spicy Overly Salted and warm. Although Abundant they Were inedible. The Burger Meat was somewhat dry to Be cooked 'fresh'. The cheese Should be separated rather Than stacked, the double Stack of cheese is messy, And ill advised. The Bacon Over Cooked and old. And The Bun lost in it All. Maybe Five Guys needs Five Girls to learn Cooking.

Delicious Southern food and attentive service at a restaurant in Berlin? Well, those are two things…read morethat I thought I'd never find in this city! Tucked away in Prenzlauer Berg, Southern Vittles is an authentic restaurant that checks all of the boxes. I haven't done much soul food exploring stateside, but one of my brunch go-tos is chicken and waffles. And since it's swept the nation from coast to coast, I've had to put up with various quirks, ranging from dry chicken to a stingy amount of overpriced chicken. But this was some of the best chicken and waffles I've ever had. The chicken was so tender that it stole the show, but the sweetness from the maple syrup made it taste even better. (Part of me wishes that the maple syrup hadn't been drizzled onto the chicken in the kitchen and that it would come on the side, but the chef poured the perfect amount, so I can't really complain.) And because I came on a weekend morning, I got to enjoy the bottomless coffee service. It doesn't seem that special because it's from your standard coffee machine, but what really made it stand out was how the owner would walk around with the coffee pot and ask if I wanted a refill. (Alas, it reminds me of how servers in the U.S. constantly come around for water refills...!) And the coffee also tasted better than some of the burnt excuses for coffee that some fancier places in the city sell, so don't look down on a simple cup of joe. Speaking of the owner, he provided the best service that I've ever experienced in a Berlin restaurant. The small talk (imagine that!) made me feel like I was back home in the U.S. The prices (given the exchange rate) made me second guess that feeling a bit, but I can't deny the deliciousness of the meal or the friendliness of the owner.

Only leaving this review to say sadly this spot is closed :(…read more It's been replaced by an Indonesian place that's pretty good but damn was i looking forward to some green fried tomatoes with cheese grits

As a vegetarian, I'll admit a burger place was not my first choice for din, but BBB offers veggie and vegan burgers, as well as other plant based appetizer and salad options. Drinks: I ordered a glass of the Riesling which was crisp and refreshing. A few ordered beers and a couple selected cocktails from BBB's fairly extensive menu. Everyone ended up happy with their choices. Atmosphere: The music is fun, and the vibe certainly attracts a younger, 20 to 30-something crowd. Definitely check this place out the next time you're in Berlin!

I got a very dirty glass for my soda, with lipstick and kitchen dirt on it which I wanted to have exchanged. Looked like a big problem cause first they waitress was very sceptical about it and didn't really want to exchange it, then the guy at bar had to check it again and also looked at us like we had put the dirt by ourselves... After a moment I got a new glass with fresh ice cubes, full of little black fusels... I didn't say anything anymore and drank my soda from the bottle. The standard burger is nice btw, but absolutely nothing special and in my opinion too expensive.

Came here for brunch about a month ago when the bf and I were in Berlin on vacation. We decided to…read morecome here because of its high ratings on Yelp. We got in just before noon, and we were glad we did because the place got completely full soon after we got seated. The menus were a little confusing as we don't speak any German and the menus had some English pages mixed in with the German pages (the little footnotes were what really confused me, but then I realized that they were using them as markers for different types of allergens). However, it didn't seem that hard to figure out as most of the offerings for brunch offered either cold cuts, cheese, vegetarian spreads, etc. with pastries and such. I opted for their normal sized vegetarian offering (you can ask for a vegan one also) along with coffee and a 20 mL cup of red currant juice. The bf got an order of their scrambled eggs with bacon, along with a 40 mL cup of orange juice. The vegetarian offering I got was amazing. There were a few different slices of cheese, 2 different types of savory spreads (one yogurt based, and the other was some sort of curried spread), and a bunch of fresh fruits. We got a very generous sized basket of bread to share, and it was just a perfect and somewhat light meal. The bf's eggs were delicious, and our juices were fresh and tasy as well. We could easily see why this place was so popular with the locals. Would definitely come back here if I ever happened to find myself in Berlin again.

While in Berlin, I stumbled across this place called Bastard through browsing reviews on Yelp, I…read moredecided to call in here not only because of the good reviews but the fact the place is called Bastard, which is a name which probably wouldn't be allowed in my home-country of the United Kingdom. This place is located in quite a rough area of Berlin, as I recall it was on the 248 bus route, yet buses in Berlin is a system I've struggled with mainly down to having so many stops without any proper signage for example one bus might go from one stop, another from another. This place isn't in a great location as I said, you can even find some graphiti on the walls as you go in to the small inside seating area. The menu was quite restrictive and authoritarian in the sense you couldn't personalise your dishes or tweak them, despite it being fresh food which was a shame and alongside the location, the major flaw of this place. For example, they had a meal with Fried eggs and other things which I didn't want, and they refused to just do fried eggs. I ordered Scrambled Eggs with Bacon, this was quite good quality and a much better breakfast than I could have had at my Hilton hotel in Berlin, but still I found the side dishes to go with it such as beans and the choice of that to be poor, they only had "fresh" bread, gluten bread, which didn't taste too great. I also was impressed with the range of fresh juices which were quite cheap at 2.40 euros each for 0.2L, I ordered a mixed juice as I recall it contained pumpkin and apple and a few other things, and I enjoyed it, albeit my first choice being a pear juice was sold out. The waitress seemed friendly enough but it was frustrating they had run out of products such as the pear juice and couldn't slightly amend their dishes and they didn't have gluten free bread. The place inside was small and really busy, it had an old-fashioned theme to it, it wasn't the nicest place in terms of décor, it is probably something one would expect to find in Manchester's Northern Quarter for example, which is my home town. The food and beverage mentioned was good quality, but the location and inability to slightly personalise your dish and the selection overall was quite poor. Was the food worth the wait to get a table and my trip to find it? I'd guess so, but still due to the major flaws I still feel Bastard doesn't deserve anything other a three star rating.

He found one in fact, that's so satisfactory, and even more fantastic that they have a Barrel Aged one for only €10. (this is easily $16 in San Francisco!) I had two of these and was about to order a third one when someone (blame my husband) decided it was time to go home :( okay, okay. He had a legit reason, we had a 8am flight the next day. That didn't stop the crew from ordering multiple rounds of brewski, from IPAs to classic witbier or just ask the staff for the current specials and they can recommend something to your liking. Centrally located in Prenzlauer berg, this is a fun and relaxing place to hang out. The group was in a bitter sweet mood as it always goes on our last night in Berlin since we only see them twice a year. No doubt, I will be back to Salt n Bone.
