I have an unusual genetic condition which effects saliva production. Dr. Cohen took immediate interest and performed a through examination of my mouth and salivary glands. He prescribed a medication that absolutely provides relief! I was so impressed with his knowledge that I immediately shared the news with my mother and her doctor. I can not rate on his surgical procedure. However, he was extremely rude. When he asked what was going on with my son, I told him then he asked if I thought I was a doctor. I told him he had a deviated septym and his nose was getting more sideways and he always does this sniffing breating thing. This was before even looking at my son. He said I should take my son to get his allergies checked. Which I then told him I had. Then he looked at my son and said oh yes he has a deviated septym and if he was 19 I would do the surgery immediately. Then he asked if I as a parent wanted to put him through 2 surgeries!!!!! One now and one in a couple years. I asked if there was anything we could do in the mean time he said try nasal strips!! He was so rude and not at all what a doctor should be. read more

This man was the rudest doctor I think I've ever encountered. I was referred to him from a local audiologist. It took me months to get in and see him, and I think he spent a total of 5 mins in the room with me. I was having problems with my hearing aids, excessive feedback, etc. When he found out I was referred by a local audiologist, he scoffed at me and basically made me feel like I was wasting his time. He said I likely have narrow eustachian tubes, and there was not much he could do. I didn't even get to address the tinnitus issues I have. read more

Odd isn't it. We called this office 10 days ago, we were told we would of course get a call from this office...we have NOT. My husband is on the phone right now, trying to find out WHY they did not get a call....When a Drs. office screws up and the DOCTOR themself should pay closer attention to how their front desk is ran, they do NOT, then they get a bad review, what we do get is a SORRY ABOUT THAT, at least call us let us know why they did not return our call.... read more

Dr. Cohen saw my husband after he had all his air tests the audiologist was amazing but said my husband's hearing was definitely off the charts and his tinnitus and screaming and ears could be helped with hearing devices. At the appointment he said to my husband after looking at him I'm not going to get your hearing aids because I know you'll just put them in a drawer and never use them. It took six years for me to get my husband to go to the doctor. This man has the worst bedside manner he has small man's complex he was rude And had no compassion it was completely without anything. Dr. Cohen excised a lump in my tongue. He did an outstanding job and I have made a complete and total recovery very quickly.

If I could give 0 stars I would. First off he did not listen to me, but dismiss what I had to say. I was a patient having seizures and had pressure in my head. Following his directions I started having seizures daily while he continued to dismiss what I wanted him to look at, so after a week of seizures I went back to my method and did no have another seizure for over 6 months. He did not help my issues at all. I'm seizure free now for over 2 years using a method he doesn't approve of, yet I'm seizure free. I called and canceled all future appointments with his office. His staff failed to cancel the appointments so Dr. Cohen complained about me as a patient within the sutter health portal. This guy sucks and is an arrogant ass. read more

I waited three months to get in to Dr. Cohen... he was late in seeing me and when I got in was extremely rushed and impatient... I was there for a throat, sinus and ear problem. He didn't check my ears and when I tOld him he hadn't checked them, like I wouldn't remember him looking in my ears, he argued with me, refused to look and proceeded to put a tube up my nose, into my throat.., He wasn't able to get the tube down, got very frustrated with me.., I had nothing to do with it, it just wouldn't go thru my nasal passage... so we didn't get to do the test. I got my bill and he had charged me for the test, even though he didn't do the test.... I would not recommend him to anyone. I am a breast cancer survivor and have had more difficult and painful tests than I can remember, and have never had the situation happen like it did with this dr.... he made me feel really uncomfortable as if I had wasted his time. So bottom line it was a total waste of time, money and the most important to me, hope that he might help me.., read more

This review is actually hard for me to write. Last year I suddenly lost hearing in my left ear. I was 22. I saw Dr.Cohen and the audiologist, Cy Suison. I first saw Cy, after the hearing test he looks at my husband and I and grimly says, and I quote "at least it's not cancer". Not an appropriate thing to say to a patient ever. I'm now scared. I come back for a second test with Cy and then see Dr.Cohen. He tells me that I have a rare viral infection and that if I would have come in sooner they may have been able to save my hearing but most likely its gone permanently. He tells me they'll try some meds but most likely they won't work and sends me on my way. Not a "I'm sorry", nothing. No empathy whatsoever. I'm in shock. One of the worst days of my life. I come back after a week to have my final test to see if my hearing has improved. I do another hearing test with Cy. Afterwards he asks me where I should I go. I wanted so badly to say "Why are you asking me!?" He tells me he doesn't know and mumbles something about the doctor will probably call me. Are you kidding me?? I leave the office but forced myself to go back inside. After waiting 10 min I get the attention of someone. I ask to see Dr.Cohen. These results will determine whether or not I have lost my hearing for the rest of my life! He walks by, sees me, and casually comes over. He leans over the reception desk and says "oh ya, the meds didn't help & there's no change in your hearing. Make an appointment here and I'll see you in a year" and walks away. Dr.Cohen gave me diagnoses, that my hearing was lost forever, over the counter of the reception desk while another patient was making his appointment and people were sitting in the office. I walked out of the office in literal shock. I was shaking. Losing one of your major 5 senses is an awful thing I wish on no one; add in the callous experience I had - no one deserves that. No, I do not recommend this office or it's doctors. read more

I can't add anything to the obvious: Dr. Cohen found the cancer in my neck and started me on a treatment plan through Sutter. In short, through his amazing skill and tenacity he took my treatment in a particular direction that saved my life. It's just that simple. I feel so grateful for the type of care I have received from Dr. Cohen and his staff! I have had a lot of ringing and lack of hearing in one ear. The doctor was very thorough and checking for all possibilities which I think is the mark of a great, thorough, talented doctor........great knowledge! Early detection is important for many hearing issues. Doctor even considered my suggestions and ideas about how to improve my hearing. After all the tests, the Dr. Cohen and I decided to try a tube in my ear which made all the difference in the world. My hearing even improved! Along with treating my allergies, I feel so much better. There has never been a hesitation to bring me in for an appointment as soon as possible when I am having any discomfort in my ear. We all have to realize that this is the only Sutter ENT doctor in this town and beyond. So that means the doctor and his staff handle the care of many. I also think it's important for patients to immediately let the doctor and staff know how they are feeling. Remember too, that all these medical professionals are also feeling the weight of this unusual virus that is in our world. They have loved ones and have many pressures, too! Try to be kind, direct, ask questions, comment openly with the provider and share your thoughts with this wonderful doctor and his support team.
