I really liked that this salon has a couple staff members that can do both hair and makeup, which was to find in-salon. Lindsay did my hair & makeup and did a wonderful job! She was very tentative to my needs & requests. She worked efficiently and did exactly what I asked for. I am glad I did the trial first because there were some things that had to be tweaked for the big day and it was so worth it. The owner is really nice too. I believe the prices were fair. Had a great first clip at Randolph's! My hair was an absolute mess--dry and brittle and months overdue for a good clipping. I came in for an Olaplex deep conditioning, cut (with layers), and style. As you can see from my before and after pictures, my stylist Sarah performed a true miracle. I was in and out quick, but did not feel like she rushed her job. Sarah was meticulous in her work and was easy to chat and relax with. I think she could have done more layers, but I understand wanting to play it safe on a first visit with a new client and building from there. The service came out to $60 (with tip) and was less than half what I've paid at other salons around here. I had a haircut by Zoey on my first trip to Randolphs salon. They have a super convenient online scheduling system that allows you to book based on availability at any of their locations. Upon entering the salon they make you fill out some more waivers and paperwork so come early. I arrived approx 10 min early to my appointment. Their lobby seating area is kinda small but everything is super clean, well lit, smells great. Products for sale in the lobby. My appointment started about 10 min late and is the reason why this is four stars instead of five. Bc I arrived early and the appointment started late it just felt like I was waiting a really long time. I ended up being late picking up my husband from his appointment across the street bc of the delay. My actual haircut with Zoey was wonderful. She did a great job and I love my new hairstyle. She is friendly, chatty, and super chill. She's a good listener about what you want but will also give suggestions too. I also appreciated since I was wearing a face mask that upon meeting her she asked me immediately if I wanted her to wear one too. I told her I was okay it didn't matter to me but I thought that was incredibly thoughtful of her! I'd come back again! Newcomers receive a coupon book too! read more

I've been going to Randolph's for 5+ years with never a bad salon experience! Vita is my go to girl, and always gives me the BEST service!

It has taken me 2.5 years since moving to metro Detroit and numerous (probably 6+) attempts to find the right hairstylist for me, and I've FINALLY found her! Taylor Soulard (Instagram @_soul_hair, Facebook @Taylor Soulard Hair) is phenomenal. She not only takes the time to listen to all your concerns and preferences, but she is incredibly gentle, thorough, and precise in her hair styling. Not once did I wince from any nail scratch to the scalp or tug on a strand of hair. Plus she measured symmetrical hair stands around my head to assure the cut was level and even. As far as rating the salon: wonderful hospitality. They offer refreshments and hang your coat up in their closet for you. Floor is quickly and frequently swept of hair clippings. Everyone seems welcoming, especially of new customers. They give a coupon set to new customers for subsequent appointments. Lastly, I enjoy their website feature allowing you to look up the current schedule and book an appointment online. I booked mine an hour before pretty easily. Lastly, this salon uses and sells Redken and Pureology hair products. read more

I had been going to Vita here for about 4 years and things were good for a while. She had an assistant/trainee the last time I went in who helped with my "full balayage." A day or so after they worked on my hair, I noticed things weren't quite right. The toner was too brassy and the color placement was heavy on one side of my head. Overall, it didn't look like I had just paid for a full balayage. I immediately dm'd Vita that weekend to let her have as much time as possible to schedule with me again. Then I called the following Monday. On Monday, she had someone else call me back for her, stating her only time slot was at 8am on Wednesday. Time wouldn't work for me, so I called back to find out she had left for the day... I messaged her again on instagram and showed her a photo of the mishap and she was very, defensive and claimed that she always put more color on the side of my head with more hair... however, the opposite of that was true this time. By the time she had stopped dodging me to schedule, it felt too awkward to go back in to have her fix my hair. read more

Firstly the address on Yelp is incorrect and should have taken as a sign. STAY AWAY!!! Anyways thinking I'll get a decent hair cut since the price is $27 I decided to go...wow was I wrong, best cuts could have done better for over half the price. I asked what she good at she said fade so went ahead. She was ferociously rubbing the buzzer on my head and it hurt so much I had to tell her to chill. Then she nibbed my ear which didn't feel good either. After the buzz she gave me a quick wash, hair was totally soaked when it was cut after when she was "finished" I and had to non stop tell her to even my sides, then my side burns, then the back of my neck which was first not shaved off then eventually because faded way too high, so now it looks like there are two shades separated by a definable line on the back of my head. Each time in between corrections she thought she was finished and kept saying let's put product in... So if you want to pay $27 bucks to get your hair messed up go ahead!!! I shouldn't have even paid as I now feel like I got messed up and robbed instead of just one of the two. AGAIN STAY AWAY!!! Update: They refunded my $27 after I called them back asking for refund. They agreed in return of my feedback on how they can improve. I should have followed my general rule of not getting haircuts in stripmalls or malls in general. Took my nephew for a back to school haircut. Our stylist was Jennifer. She could not have been worse. She couldn't even hold the clippers straight. She used the machine for all around his head and clippers for the top. She didn't clean up around his ears or his neck. She couldn't even bother to clean up the hair on his face and neck after cutting. She spent about ten minutes and charged 28 dollars. I'm glad I know how it is before going in for myself or recommending it to someone for a much riskier service. I would be horrified if Jennifer was trusted to do anyone's hair. read more

I thought I was happy with my hair after I left the salon but the more I looked at it the more upset I became. I showed my stylist 2 different pictures of what I was looking for and also got full highlights. After getting home and really looking at it I was so disappointed in the cut and color. I specifically said I did not like straight cuts and wanted it razored and choppy. I left with a chin length bob and sections of unhighlighted hair. It's been 2 weeks and I still can't find a way to like this cut. I'm not normally one to get upset over a cut but I can't get past this one. read more

Asked to get a little off the bottom to get my split ends out and I was excited to see that that's what happened. Vera is amazing! She caters to what you want. Jen is PHENOMENAL! I had a cut/color appointment with her last night and I have never been happier with my hair. (I went in for a cut and an ombre color.) I have had two disastrous haircuts (NOT at Randolph's - at two different salons) and told Jen all about them. I could tell that she was listening to every word I said when I explained what I wanted, which gave me the best peace of mind ever! I've never had ombre color done to my hair, so I was a little nervous it wasn't going to turn out how I pictured it...Nope...it was SPOT. ON. PERFECT. (I have gotten a dozen compliments on it in the three hours I've been at work!) Jen walked me through every step of my hair appointment, telling me in detail what she was doing to my hair. She also told me about the products she used in my hair when styling, but was never pushy or overly sale-sy about it. I ended up getting two of the products she used on me. I am a regular customer and was really disappointed in my last visit. I wanted something fun an new and received dishwater color hair. I showed my hair dresser half a dozen pictures and she could not do any. I would have taken suggestions from her, doing light or dark hair. The guest next to me was having cool technique and color done to her hair. The she asked if I wanted a little root on left and not thinking, now I have all my gray showing. I really felt like crying. I did at home. If they know of another hair dresser who could do something I was hoping for I would hope she would have recommended her to me. I spend almost $200 on each visit Wich I save for. I'm not one to leave bad reviews but I feel like I have to with this one because it totally wrecked my confidence. I've been coming here for almost a year and a half now to get my hair highlighted and cut. I've always loved this place and my stylist but about 5 months ago I decided I wanted something different: a full dye going brown from blonde and a haircut. This was DISASTROUS. The hair color was NOTHING like what I asked, and when I went back in the next day to talk to my stylist about it she explained that she used a color conditioning treatment and not a dye treatment so the original color should fade. Fast forward 4 months and my hair is completely back to the blonde color it was before, damaged and feels like toast, and i'm still trying to grow out the terrible face frame I received. read more

Jennifer was my stylist, I wanted a burgundy with copper highlights.my hair was virgin for 2 years with greys.she highlighted my hair seems like the top only and she painted my hair which she called balayage,washed it and the balayage did not even show a color, so she added another color over it.it was not even near the color I wanted,she claims I need sessions to get burgundy only my black virgin hair.three days later the color she added was gone and my greys are back.not worth the $259 plus $20 tip. Save the trip and don't come here, I was charged for a cut balayage and highlights. Will never return to this place again. read more

It's alright. I had requested an ombre that might have looked bad with my hair so the stylist suggested me something else. We did the something else, yeah putting in foil was fine, but when it came to the washing, yikes. I am very tender headed and I told her this, yet I "yelped" and said ow (aka made a sound of pain, not the action of using Yelp) about 3-4 times and she didn't acknowledge she was causing me pain. Oh well I don't like to be blunt. She gave me a mild hair trim. She probably used her scissors for about 4 seconds, wonder how much that cost me. Oh well, she said shed finish me with a an amazing blowout. Well... it wasn't nice at all. It was so bad I couldn't go out in public without touching it up with a straightener it was just a frizzy ball of yarn mess. Hair color came out subtle and pleasant but not the swatch I selected. LADIES PLEASE BEWARE............Randolphs Salon states this on there page:(address below). I can assure you this is NOT the service I got at all. They destroid my hair and will not fix it. They will not except resposibility for what they did and told me "oh well"! I went into the Rochester Hills Hampton Villiage Randolphs Salon for a curly perm and came out with a rats nest half kinked half not curled perm. I asked for the kind of perm that you can wash and go with curls, I even showed them a picture of what I wanted and now I have this mess that I have to blow dry and straighten with a straitener because it is too embarressing to walk out in public for what they did to my hair. It is the WORST EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD. They state that they have Highly educated stylists. I got a style that looks like a first grader did it. There is no confidence and there was no comfort after this experience. I haven't decided whether or not to take further action or not. The only thing is everytime I look in the mirror and see what they did to my hair I just get madder and madder. They did me wrong.
