Tracy has been my go to for years now. Her space is cozy, comfortable and beautiful, and she's professional yet like you're talking to a friend the entire time regardless of what services is done. Her product and technique is also the only one that's never given my skin an issue afterward (I do mostly eyebrows and Brazilian) which is a HUGE load off when you're dealing with such important areas. I loved coming here! I've had waxing done before, just not *cough* down there. I decided that I'm tired of doing it myself, so I came in here today to get it done professionally. Mind you, I was a tad nervous, as it was a new venture to me. But, fortunately, Tracy made me feel extremely comfortable right away! Mind you, I had to book my appointment a week and a half in advance! (I understand why! she's good) I went with a traditional bikini wax, and it went quicker and smoother then I had anticipated. Tracy was professional and did a really good job. The room itself was really relaxing, with low lights a big comfy table. She went through some of her tecniques and asked specifically what I was looking for. As she was waxing, I realized it wasn't as bad as I had thought. She did a really good job and had me check it out to make sure it was up to my standards. She's super sanitary and I would gladly come here again. After waiting for two weeks to get in with the fantastic Wax Queen, I finally had my first initial Brazilian over a month ago. Tracy was understanding, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable. Yes, the office is very hard to find, however, if you pass the Kroger Grocery store, you have missed the joint. She is located inside of a chiropractic office and her "WAX QUEEN" sign is right outside the door. I am unable to comment on the "pain" level because I have been an avid Brazilian waxer for nearly a decade; however, the person and experience is what really makes the difference and I HIGHLY recommend Tracy! And Lets face it...you don't want to just go to any random place to have hot wax spread on your most "private" of areas. Enter Tracey Mentier aka "The Wax Queen". I have had brazillian wax's all across the USA. I was a bit nervous when we moved back to Michigan as I was never really able to find a good place for a brazillian in the Detroit area. Then fate stepped in. I just happened to be reading an old Allure magazine and stumbled across a review for Tracy. The reviewer gushed about how great the wax was...I immediately called to book an appointment. Tracy was warm and welcoming the second I walked in the door. For a brazilian wax you cannot exactly be modest but Tracy does her best to keep you as covered as much as she can. Tracy is quick and super thorough...there was not a stray hair to be seen when she was finished! Who are we kidding...it is a brazilian wax so its not like it doesn't hurt...but I will say....it was definitely one of the least painful waxes that I have had. Tracy is also a master eyebrow waxer. When I was in NYC I had my brows waxed by the same woman that waxed Beyonce, Madonna, Britney Spears...etc. NEVER have my eyebrows looked as good as when I walked out of Tracy's spa room. 5 big fat stars. Why you ask? 1. Tracey is beyond friendly and easy to talk to. She is the epitome of the warm fuzzies. From the moment she greeted me in the relaxation room to the end of my appointment, I never felt uncomfortable or embarrassed. Who would want a snooty person all up in your business...?! 2. Tracey is very knowledgable and educated me as a client on safe wax practices and what to look for should I ever go elsewhere. This was very reassuring that I was in a clean environment. The last thing I want is some crazy staph infection. 3. Price. Tracey will discount her services as a returning customer. A deal is always a reason to smile! 4. Attention to detail. Tracey is very thorough. Whatever doesn't come off with the wax, she will tweeze. I am as smooth as a baby's bottom. :) 5. Overall experience. I drive an hour one way to get waxed by tracey. I've had brazilians in San Fran, DC, and even Vietnam and Tracey is hands down the best. If this were a review strictly on personality, I would automatically give Tracey 5 stars. She's so energetic, personable, and sometimes makes me forget I'm actually there to get a brazilian. In terms of getting work done, she's knowledgeable, fast, painless, and a perfectionist. Everything you need in a true Wax Queen. My first visit was $50 but every visit after was $40. I'm really sad I moved away from MI because I don't think I'll be able to find anyone as amazing as Tracey. read more

I LOVED Tracey! I just got waxed with her today and I cannot believe how comfortable and quick it was! I wasn't sure how it would be - I usually prefer to get waxed while I'm in larger cities - esp in Los Angeles. But she's by far one of the best I've ever been to - and she's here in the Detroit area! If you aren't careful you won't be able to find her bc she's in an office that's shared with a Chiropractor and an acupuncture specialist. As soon as I walked in she was super warm, open and very friendly. We immediately hit it off and I didn't even realize when we were done! The room we were in was warm, clean and very very relaxing. She had candles going with relaxing aromas, and the bed I was on definitely had a heated mattress pad so I wasn't too cold; amazing considering I wasn't dress from the waist down! Professional, friendly, fast, practices excellent hygienics. Tracey is the first and only person to give me a complete Brazilian wax. She truly makes the experience as comfortable and painless as possible. She keeps the room warm, dimly lit, with soft music and a pleasant incense burning. She talks you through the entire process in addition to giving you a brief education on what to look for as far as how clean the waxing equipment and tools should be. Just as important as the process itself are her directions on aftercare and what to expect and what to do should any side effects arise. I'm very happy with my Brazilian wax but Tracy's prices have gone up. It was $70 since this was my first time and $45 for my second visit if I come back in 4-6 weeks. I was so glad to find someone who was as skilled as Tracy that I book my next appointment before leaving. I was only disappointed that it cost more that I thought it would. I had never had a Brazilian wax before. I thought I got okay waxes before, legs, bikini, etc., but I was never truly satisfied. I decided to try a Brazilian and went to a salon in Washington, MI. Let's just say, over two hours later, I had wax still on my skin, stray hairs everywhere, and it looked like my "private" areas had an encounter with a lawn mower with bent blades. Then I got smart and did my research...I found Tracy Mentier and booked an appointment. I will never go anywhere else and I hope Tracy never retires. To start off, she is so friendly and compassionate. I feel more comfortable with her than my doctors. As a "newbie", she explained everything to me. She talked about which bumps are ingrown hairs, which are from bacteria. She educated me on "double dipping" of the wax; which let me tell you ladies, I guarantee you, a lot of salons do this and it should be a health code violation. This was the least painful wax I'd ever had. I was surprised that the most intimate areas appear to be the least sensitive to the waxing or maybe it's just because Tracy is that good. In less than an hour, I was baby smooth all over, wax free, and I felt like a new woman with a new best friend. If you are a wax virgin or an experienced one, GO SEE TRACY. You will not be disappointed. I drive an hour each way to see her. She is awesome, reasonable, and very knowledgeable. If you want to feel comfortable about revealing your body while maintaining it, she will put you at complete ease. As a veteran "waxee," I actually wasn't all that impressed with Tracey's brazilian waxing skills. Sure she's "fast" but for me it always resulted in a subpar wax. I always had lots of ingrown hairs (never happens if you pull the hair in the right direction) and burns on my inner thighs. I also didn't like that she ONLY used soft wax with the strips as I prefer the hard wax. Most places give you a choice and in my opinion, the hard wax hurts less and removes the hair much better (no need for post-wax tweezing) However, to be fair and balanced, her business skills are pretty stellar. You get the lower pricing if you return within 4 weeks and she's knowledgable about hygiene. But BEWARE: if you are not the chatty type and prefer to receive your spa services in peace then she is DEFINITELY not for you because she will talk your ear off non-stop. Overall, there was nothing really special about Tracey. I went back because she was close to my house and the pricing scheme was attractive. However, now that I've left Rochester Hills and discovered better rates on Groupon, I haven't looked back. read more

Was really excited to visit today with the good reviews. I've been having a hard time finding a place for eyebrows since I moved to Michigan so I drove 25 minutes to try this place. I booked an appointment for 1pm today, arrived at 12:50 (hard to find it and it is shared with other businesses, kind of a strange set up) and filled out some paperwork. The "relaxation area" was "full" so I was told to sit in the front lobby. The receptionist left and no one was anywhere to be found. I went into the relaxation area that appeared to be empty (which is two chairs in a side area). I waited until 1:30 and even walked around a couple of times but could only find a massage therapist?? By that point I had been at wax queen for forty minutes and my eyebrows had not been waxed. Made an appointment with a different place tomorrow and hope there is someone that can wax my eyebrows! I'm sure she does a good job just a shame I won't be trying her with the wasted time and poor service. Also very weird set up with multiple businesses sharing the spot, probably why I was overlooked. read more
