Point Blank is awesome. I was in last weekend. While shooting I was asked to move lanes to allow for a CCW class to take place. The range officer added time to my timer to compensate for the move. As I wrapped up my time the range officer gave me a certificate and apologized again for asking me to move. These guys have it right! Safety officers in the range to insure safe shooting practices, polite employees and great pricing. The facility was well lit and very clean unlike other local indoor ranges I have been to. read more

Long story short, met up with some friends there to shoot. I got there late so I was going to wait for a lane as they were full. The guy at the counter saw me talking to my buddy who was already on a lane and offered me to join them. I said of course if that was allowed. He took my money and let me go in. As soon as I sat my case down after I walked in the range, he came in and said my buddy's time was up on the lane. I asked the guy if I could get my money back since I had just walked in and he said no that it was my decision to join them late. I guess forgetting he had just offered me to join not 2 minutes before. I told him he offered me to go in there when their time was already up and that was shady. He said it wasn't his problem that my friend's time was up. I asked why he would even offer me to join them if my time was up. He got loud with me, pointed his finger in my face and started berating me in front of a crowd of people. I got right back at him. He then demanded my license so he could ban me from the place. I of course did not give him my license. He began yelling and berating me again. I never got my money back but then, after he tried to ban me, he gave me a ticket for an hr free range time. Seriously? First you wanna ban me, then you want me to come back for free? My friends were all standing by watching this happen. Contacted 2 different people in the front office, one was apologetic about the issue. The other blew it off as a "minor customer service issue". His reasoning was "Well all companies have customer service issues and we're no different". What a crock. Needless to say, I'll never go back and I have plenty of friends who won't step foot in that hole. Reported him to the BBB and he contacted me basically stating he wasn't part of the BBB so he didn't care that I reported him. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE!!! read more

I was a very faithful and regular customer to this place. Won't be going back. The staff is normally always extremely friendly and always helpful. But the range officer when I went and spent well over $100 in one transaction was very condescending and talked down to me and the 2 other avid gun owners I was with. Very rude and nasty. Talked to us like we had no experience and that we were doing everything completely wrong... even stood behind us at one point and waited for us to do something "wrong". Seemed more interested in helping the two girls at the end of the range instead of the other shooters asking him questions and needing help with range rental firearms. Very disappointed with this visit and that they would hire someone that treats faithful customers this way. read more

We purchased a Groupon for range time for two people, which was a great deal. The store was very clean and the employees were so helpful. We didn't have to wait at all for our range time, and the guns we rented were in good condition. We were able to change guns throughout our hour of time at no charge. If Roy Daugherty is still the owner of this, watch out!!! Sounds like a problem waiting to happen to me. Oh, and if something does happen that warrants a lawsuit, be prepared. One of the main owners of this joint (Roy) has had multiple LLC corporations in multiple business ventures. When he was a contractor doing construction, he ripped us off to the tune of multiple thousands of dollars. Successful lawsuit and the State of Michigan levied fines, which he didn't pay as far as I know and his contractor's license was yanked, but we never collected a DIME of our restitution awarded, given that he hides behind LLC and protects his personal assets. Apparently, he moved on to take people's money other ways and is now in the shooting range business. If he does business here like he did in construction, BUYER BEWARE. A very nice place that is clean and well stocked. However I share the opinion of another reviewer. "This place uses RSOs (range safety officers). I think this is a good safety measure as I have seen a lot of places without them having people doing very unsafe things. The line I draw is when they plant themselves behind you (3 feet) and watch you the entire time you're shooting even if your doing nothing wrong or unsafe" My situation was this: I was working through a problem with some ammo I was trying out and evaluating in my AR15. I eventually came to the conclusion that this gun does not like steel case ammo. It would stick in the chamber occasionally failing to eject. Each time the RSO could not wait to take the gun out of my hand and take charge each time I had an issue with the ammo. I never asked him to help me and I was not doing anything unsafe, he offered. I have a mechanical / technical background so I had a handle on the situation. Like I said I was in the evaluation stage. He offered his help and since he was the "expert" I let him. He wasn't able to remove the cartridge this time. This was second occurrence at this range in two days. Now this being the same time I was deciding to give up using the ammo after a total of three occurrences overall since I bought this ammo with the spent cartridge sticking in the chamber he told me I cant shoot it on their range anymore since it keeps jamming. What the gun or the ammo? Guess I should have asked but I was kinda stunned. He went on to say since my barrel is not chrome lined he would not recommend putting steel case ammo through it anymore. He left it there and so now I wonder is he talking about the gun or the ammo or both I can't shoot at their range. Initially I thought he was just being friendly and it was just part of his job to help the customer any way he could. Now it kinda feels weird like I'm not welcome and I've have been inconveniencing him the whole time. I doubt I will ever go back. I paid for my time, I wasn't doing anything unsafe, The problem was not the gun but the ammo. It shoots brass just fine. In retrospect I should have just put the gun in its case and continued shooting the other gun I brought. I don't understand why it is necessary for them to jump in and take charge when he could see it was just a stuck spent cartridge. He could have just offered a suggestion to not use that ammo and left it alone but he volunteered to take the gun in back and remove the spent cartridge. He didn't have to do anything. I didn't think accepting his help would lead to something that feels like a ban. Sheesh. I would have resolved the issue myself with the AR15 when I got the gun home, no big deal. Instead the RSO took it upon himself to basically let me know the gun/ammo is a problem for him and his range. Is the gun unsafe because it doesn't like a certain type of ammo? Truly earned 0 stars and here is why. I will start by saying I have never felt the need to submit a review before, until now. This experience was beyond awful. I was lied to and felt intentionally kept out of the loop while they had $1000 of my money. I went to Point Blank in Deerfield OH in February requesting to purchase a suppressor for my rifle. I was placed on a "wish list" and would be notified when the item would be available for purchase. For those that don't know, Suppressors can take 7-8 months to accomplish because of the lengthy paperwork and acquiring the item. In April I was called saying the suppressor is available for purchase. I gave them $1000 and was told 30-60 days before it would be in the shop and we could start paperwork. After 60 days I checked in, no suppressor. I checked in at 90 days, still nothing and again at 120 days, nothing. I asked for an explanation to which I was told, "these things take time". We are now at 195 days and the suppressor is still not in shop. I come to find out they have no idea where it is and not sure if it will come in. I was told my order was "cumbersome" and a "debacle". I immediately cancelled my order and received my money back. This company is an absolute joke and I will never be stepping foot or giving them another cent of my business because of this. Terrible customer service with zero follow up. For the record, I went to silencershop.com and purchased and received the serial number for the silencer I originally wanted within 5 minutes and will be in Cincinnati next week, ready to start the paperwork. I have been shooting at Point Blank for about 1.5 years now. It is a first class place, providing a clean, SAFE atmosphere for shooting sports. A large selection of firearms from which to chose, and a large rental pool to try things out first. I also took my CCW course there (Having previously being trained at OPOTA in London). The class was well organized, and the instructor was very knowledgeable. I purchased the "shooter's pass" and visit the range regularly. Without a doubt the nicest indoor range in the area, trust me I've been to them all. Lane time is pretty pricey coming in around 2x what all other ranges run. However, keep in mind that a quality range costs more to build and they have to make that money back somehow. If this were a range only review I would rate 5 stars. The reason for 3 stars is their gun and ammo prices. When it comes to handguns and rifles they are around $100 or more over priced with most other dealers in the city. If price is no concern and your wanting a specific gun odds are these guys have it, their in stock selection is vast and their staff knowledgable. If your looking for a safe they also have a wide selection. The long of the short is this. If your a newbie and need advise about buying this is your place. If your a veteran shooter why are you buying a new gun anyways? Don't pay new markup like an idiot buy on Armslist and get yourself a screaming deal. read more

I have been to point blank several times and always leave with a bad experience. Prices aren't the best on firearms, and their ammo prices are much higher than other stores in the area. Twice while I have been there the employees have refused to do business with me. I am a 19 year old and twice they have told me that I am not legally allowed to be in possession of a handgun. After a simple Google search you can find that the federal legal age to possess a handgun is only 18. Once I informed and showed the employees this they told me "Well in this business we won't allow a 19 year old with a handgun to do business here". This was an outrage to me. I am a competitive trap and pistol shooter. I have held an internship with the NRA ILA. Never have I been so insulted to be refused service. All I was trying to do was get a range lane, I wasn't even trying to purchase ammo, rentals, targets, or protection. I highly recommend going to another range in the area, Ready Line in Newtown would be a much better choice with great customer service. read more

It was my first time going there to shoot on the range. My buddy was already there and I was going to shoot with him. By the time I got there, he was already on a lane. An employee there saw me kind of mouthing to my buddy through the window to the range. The employee offered me to join him on the lane and said it would be like $8 or something. So I paid it. As soon as I walked in the range and sat my stuff down, another employee came in and told us our time was up and we needed to get off the lane. I didn't even get a chance to pull my guns out. I went back up to the other employee and told him he made me pay for a lane when their time was already up. He said he didn't know that the time was up but paying for a lane also doesn't guarantee I get to shoot. What?!?! I had my guns with me but you think I wasn't there to shoot? So I asked for a refund. He got really loud and nasty with me because I asked for a refund. I told him he let me pay for a service that I was never going to receive. He kept repeating that paying for lane time doesn't guarantee that I shoot. I still don't know what he meant by that. Why would I pay for range time to not shoot? To stand there and watch everyone else? So he continues to get louder and louder with me. He starts throwing his finger in my face pointing at me while he's yelling. All this in front of about 30 people and some friends of mine. He then demands me to give him my license so he can ban me from the store. I was dumbfounded at this point. He wanted to ban me because I wanted a refund for services I never received. Finally he walks away and another employee "takes over" trying to get my license to ban me. I refused to give my license. So the other a-hole finally comes back and gives me a card for one hour of free range time. What?! First you want to ban me and now you're giving me free range time? Wow. So I finally left, without my refund. I emailed the manager and got a nice email back from Dawn Green I believe her name was. She understood my complaint and said she would address it. Somehow the owner got involved. He basically told me that they strive for 100% perfect customer service and sometimes they don't make that mark and that's all he could say. He completely blew me off. He couldn't care less how I was treated. So in the end, this is the closest range to my house by far. But I'd drive to kentucky to shoot before I ever give this guy any of my business. This place is a joke as far as customer service goes. yeah it may look pretty but it's a crap hole deep down. read more
