The quality is outstanding, but what really stood out was the pride he takes in his work. He noticed and corrected details I never would have seen, even when leaving them alone would have saved him time. That level of care is rare. He showed up when he said he would, charged a fair price, and treated the project like it was his own home. He even came back for follow-up touch-ups and never once tried to rush through them. In fact, there were several times I was completely satisfied and ready to call it done, but Roman stayed longer and made it even better. He consistently held himself to a higher standard than I did. That's what impressed me most. I never felt like I had to inspect or manage the project. I could simply explain what I wanted and trust Roman to execute it with the skill and craftsmanship to make it beautiful. Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I've had with any contractor or tradesman in the DFW area. I'm extremely glad we found him and will absolutely be using him again. There was one time I didn't meet the crew, my husband did). Wes, the owner offers competitive pricing and was willing to work with us. The work quality has always been stellar. The last time we hired Absolute painting, was to patch holes in ceiling and walls due to toilet leak upstairs. After the job is done, you can hardly tell there were holes in the ceiling and walls. Miguel did a good job. I will give him 4.5 stars. At first, we were hesitant giving the job to Absolute because it didn't seem they have much experience with patching dry walls and ceiling. But Wes' price was a $100 better than the other company that my hubby wanted to hire. I insisted on using Absolute due to better pricing. My husband relented. During the job, I was silently praying that Miguel would do a good job, otherwise, my hubby will blame me for insisting on using Absolute painting - just to save $100. Anyway, all is good. I've been to many houses and sometimes, I could tell patch jobs on the walls. Bad patching job shows uneven surfaces. I can tell you it's very hard to see that my walls and ceiling had been patched, re-textured and re-painted.

The company owner came out and assessed the project. He was to get back to me with an estimate. The mantle is a very heavy beam. I received the estimate 2 weeks later after calling to ask about it. The estimate seemed really high, but I was told it would require 2 skilled workmen at least a day and possibly another half day to complete the job. Workmen came out a week later, said the brackets to mount the mantle would require a special order and they would get back to me. Heard nothing for 2 weeks, so called the company. Was told I had been sent an email stating when work was scheduled. I never received it. Workman showed up morning after I called. Only 1 workman came and he completed the job in 2 hours. The project cost over $1500 and while he did a nice job and cleaned up after himself, all the job really required was the installation of 3 L brackets and quickly placing the beam on them. This is not what was originally discussed and quoted for. I sent a letter to the company detailing my problems with them. Then had difficulty reaching the owner. Finally reached him by calling the company myself. The owner stated that he called numerous times and phone always went to voice mail. He left no messages. My iPhone recorded no calls from Handyman Connection. Stated he sent text stating when workman would be returning to complete the job. I never received it. I expressed my displeasure with the cost of the project. He stated that he did not base the cost on how many workmen and how many hours it would require to do the job. He based it on the skill required to do the job, the weight and uniqueness of the beam and the fact that he had to supply the insurance to cover any problems. He is making no adjustment in the cost of the project. This company charged an excessive amount of money for what turned out to be a much simpler installation than suggested. In future, I will get multiple estimates before employing any handymen and I would recommend you find someone other than Handyman Connection of McKinney for your work.

The company began calling over and over even before the trash and equipment had been removed from my yard. I sent pics to the company and had no further contact from them

Holly called me back same day and the estimate was scheduled for the next day. The gentleman who came for the estimate arrived on time and was extremely professional. He clearly understood what needed to be done for each project we needed. Being the fairly new owners of the home, I wasn't sure if the previous owners had left some paint behind, so I requested the estimate include the cost if we had the paint, as well as the cost if they needed to provide the paint. He said I'd have an invoice by end of day. Nine days later I still hadn't received an invoice, and because I'd initially been impressed by the company, I called to follow up. Holly apologized and said she'd send it over immediately, and she did. However, the invoice was missing almost half the projects we'd discussed and only included the cost if we provided paint. I contacted her back pointing out the missing items, and received another estimate. The second estimate still had missing items. After a couple of emails and five updated estimates later the info still wasn't correct. We received five estimates from five different companies for our job and it was coming down to Mr Fixit Fast and another company. We ultimately went with the other company, even though they charged $600 more. I really wanted it to work with Mr Fixit Fast, and maybe another time we'll give them a call and try again, but for this project we didn't believe the work we needed done would actually get done because the estimates kept leaving them off and the costs kept changing.

He provided a quote which I felt was reasonable and scheduled a repair for the next week. The day of the repair came and there was a downpour. This would affect part of the repair process, so I called and spoke with Holly. She seemed unaware of what exactly was going on and was unsure if the repair man would be coming or not. This struck me as very strange, but asked if she could find out. How could she not know? In any case, I get a call from the handyman about 2 hours after he was supposed to be there and we agreed to reschedule for the next week..exactly ONE week later. Here is the reason for this ONE star review: the next week rolls around and it is 9am..when he is supposed to be at my house. Nothing. I wait patiently...all the way until NOON...after noon I had heard nothing and decided to give them a call. Once again, I spoke with Holly who had no idea what was going on. She said she would call the handyman. About 40 minutes later the handyman calls apologizing claiming he forgot that today was my appointment. He said he forgot to write it down the last time we spoke and asked me to call Holly to reschedule. What's worse? Holly the owner NEVER called me. To this day, I have yet to hear a word from her. Not so much as an apology or anything. Not a peep. I did a little checking and it seems she contracts repair work out to independent contractors. Whatever the case, there is a serious disconnect between her and the repairmen she contracts with. And to make it worse she doesn't seem concerned with following through with her clients and making sure they are taken care of. I repeat: to this day I HAVE NOT heard a single word from Holly the owner about her company standing me up. Very unprofessional.

We used their official work order numbers, documents, and IVR system, and our communication with them was consistent throughout the process. After the quote was declined, we were informed that internal issues within their company may have affected payment processing for certain vendors. We have documentation of these interactions, including recorded calls, but as of today, our invoice remains unresolved. Based on our experience, I would advise other vendors to request payment up front.
