The people who work here are friendly and very knowledgeable about their products. Last year I was in Home Depot in Manchester picking up some trim molding. It seemed a little expensive. I called White Mountain Lumber to compare prices. I got Evie(super cute!) on the phone and when she gave me the price, I almost fainted! Buying it at White Mountain lumber paid for my gas on one trip from Manchester to Berlin, a trip I was frequently making at the time. Then it dawned on me. With Berlin quickly becoming a tourist destination with the 1000 mile Ride the Wilds" trail system exploding in popularity, people are traveling there from all over New England with trailers behind their trucks and SUV's. You are also only minutes from the Appalachian Trail, great fishing, jaw dropping scenery, kayaking, snowmobiling - the Berlin area has it all! We stopped by Poulin Lumber, as it was close and that there was not a Lowes, or Home Depot within about 50 miles. Poulin Lumber is a small lumber yard and hardware store that sells Ace products. On Memorial Day Weekend, they had a tent sale which had some nice clearance items out under a tent. Fun to browse. Inside must have been 85 degrees and packed with people busy getting stuff for their Memorial Day Weekend projects. My deal with place is that the prices are quite high compared to what I am used to. Example: Pool Noodle: $4.25. I can get these at Wal-Mart or Xmas Tree shop for a buck. My hose was almost $25 for only 20 feet! Good things my purchases were limited. Service was friendly and helpful. I would return again if in a bind.
