I had doubts. This company was hired by our sellers to mitigate some mold in a crawlspace. When my home inspector came back to check and do a mold air test it appeared they hadn't done anything. But based on the results of the mold test they got it. It tested where it should. The pictures they took of what they did were grainy and they really should invest in something better. They also were careful with their language in their scope of work. They said where they treated and with what and that they looked in the crawlspace but without treating that part as well (which they were told was ground zero) they couldn't 5 year guarantee their work. So if I have mold in that same spot in the next 5 years it will not be covered under their warranty. Because the sellers apparently didn't have them treat the crawlspace. So I don't know if they got their value out their service. But based on the air tests they did solve the problem. I don't know I'd use them with my own money. read more

Unfortunately, RMR has had to come out several times because every time any other work was done we found mold in other areas. This was not the fault of RMR, it was due to seller not disclosing that the house had a major flood from the water heater, clothes washer as well as dishwasher. So, every time I had construction work done we found more mold. Yes, mold removal is very expensive, but prices are competitive. I am happy that they have a 5 year warranty. Every time Scott came out to treat another area that was found to have mold, he was very knowledgeable and professional. This business is a nationwide business. We live in Poulsbo, WA and they have techs in our area to send out. At first I was really skeptical about this business because their website is not secure, is a ".net" , has only stock photos, and has no information about the people that own or work for the company and areas they serve...all signs that this may be a scam somehow. Well I called anyway because there was literally no one else I could call in my area. I talked on the phone with a very kind person who explained to me what they do how much they charge and how quick they could get out. They came very quickly to remove some mold from the house we just bought. We were taking out a wet bar in our home and the previous owner had drilled a hole in the waste water pipe and never did anything about it. The tech that came to our home was very chatty and so nice and he helped to explain further what he would do and helped us to feel safe with our 2 year old in our home. He even temporarily fixed the plumbing hole. These guys are quick and 1k is worth the peace of mind I now have. read more

Used them twice (Northern MI) - first time was a big job and I though they were fine (except they wouldn't take the construction debris) The second time there was one guy for about 2-1/2 hours and cost $1,400. In the midst of construction (and a wedding) I hadn't paid the bill yet, and at exactly two weeks they started threatening me for payment. (filing a lien against the property, collections agency, pursuing a judgment, wage and/or tax garnishments" right down to "court costs" ) They guys that came out are nice and informative, but they are EXPENSIVE. This company came in to remediate mold from improperly installed windows. They not only damaged baseboards in one room, they damaged a Brand NEW dishwasher. And then sprayed sealer paint all over everything including windows,curtains and walls. They even left a dozen bags of garbage in our yard that we had to call about to have removed!!! First they insult us and offer $200. Next they try and lie to get out of paying for delivery and installation. They are refusing to pay for anything saying its incidental damage. Damage is damage.. I got several bids for mold removal in mid October. Rapid had the best quote and the soonest availability, which was very important since we were trying to get moved into the house. They emailed on Oct 14th saying, in part, "Our service involves a careful containment process that uses a plastic barrier to section off the work area. We also use a hepa vacuum and negative air fan that removes the physical mold from the wood. After the mold is removed we use a specialty botanical spray that will treat the wood by removing mold staining and leave the wood looking like new again." When I called, I asked for the whole house inspection, but gave four very specific spots, and even texted the representative pictures of those same spots, that I especially needed checked. She said it was no problem, they would check the whole house and let us know what needed done. The whole home inspection included finding any possible leaks and letting us know so that they could be taken care of. Oct 16th, I had to work. My husband was home with the kids. The worker came in, my husband asked if they should leave while he worked because we don't want our two very asthmatic children exposed to the mold spores, which the worker confirmed was black mold. My son had pneumonia three times last year. We are taking NO chances. The worker said that was fine, that they would call and let us know what was going on, and asked if he could use our trash can. My husband agreed, not understanding they were going to fill our entire trash can with the sheetrock, plastic sheeting, bits of mold, cleaner, wood, and other miscellany and that we wouldn't be able to use our trashcan for a WEEK. Someone asks to use your trash, you think- oh, throwing away gum or something. So... disposal wasn't immediately clearly conveyed. All of the other contractors we've had in and out of our home have taken the trash with them. I was especially surprised because black mold is so toxic. If the bin hadn't been too full to use, we would be breathing it in every time we opened and closed the lid to use it- yikes. So either the mold isn't that toxic, in which case why did we worry so much and have to have a remediation. No call came to tell us the worker had finished. My husband ventured home a couple of hours later to check in. He found two very large holes cut in the drywall and ceiling in one room, and a large part of drywall and floor cut out of another room. I was aware that they would probably need to cut out the floor, and I should have guessed the ceiling, but if someone hadn't been expecting what needed to be done, that might come as quite a shock. There was no note telling us what had been checked or found. I have no idea if the other areas were checked. I emailed, but no response. called the company to ask and the woman on the phone said that the worker wasn't back yet and she didn't have his notes available. I had someone coming to install the dishwasher that week, so this was kind of important- was he sure to check that area, that (to me) looked like it had mold growing on it?! Or was I going to have a dishwasher installed over potentially black mold that could just keep growing, releasing spores, and possibly making my family sick? No answer. Very frustrating. Said to call back tomorrow. I received my invoice early the next morning. I called and the notes still were apparently not in the system. The technician was out on another job and unavailable. I asked wouldn't it be listed on the invoice or somewhere? The CSR told me, in what I felt was a rather nasty tone, that they usually don't provide details of the job until after the invoice had been paid. It had been 2 days since the job was done, NO ONE could apparently tell me what had or had not been done in my house aside from the obvious holes in the wall, I had just received the invoice, and they were treating me like I wasn't going to pay?! So you have to PAY before you find out whether or not they completed the job, and what job they even did! I have never worked with a company that acted so shady about their work. I paid it, hoping that would loosen whatever report was available so I could figure out if my home was safe. Nothing arrived. I emailed: "I just phoned. I need to know if there were currently leaking pipes in the bathroom, if he checked the dishwasher area, if he checked the corner in the bedroom, and if he found the leak in the attic as per the whole house inspection, please?" I received an email the next morning. It said, simply, "This letter is to confirm work that was completed at (address). The following work was performed: The Mold Removal Technician identified mold that was in the interior of the home. The technician noted he treated and demoed 40 square feet of the kitchen. The mold was treated with Botanical Anti-Microbial Disinfectant and RMR 86 Stain Remover." The letter listed items that were used in the mold remediation and was signed by the CSR. HIRING RAPID MOLD REMOVAL LLC WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE!! I've referred Rapid Mold Removal LLC on several occasions to my customers in the past with no problems, until now!! When I first hired them they said it would take a total of 2 days to treat a small area of mold and to remove all the insulation inside the attic, it's been almost 30 days now since the work was started and they're still not done, in fact they decided to stop the job and walk away and leave us all stranded!! This decision was made by James (manager) and the owner of the company according to Angela. Problems we had Rapid Mold Removal LLC 1. First inspector to check the attic for mold made a mistake in his diagnosis on the scope of work. 2. Company sent a second inspector to check the scope of work to make sure it was correct. I was contacted by Jerome who was the second inspector who told me that the job was oversold and that the procedure and cost should have been a lot less! 3. Since the first inspector told the homeowner that all the insulation should be removed in the entire attic I had to pay the entire cost of $2,400.00 to have all the insulation removed which was not true. When I disputed the payment they refused to go back until I accepted the charge. I paid the full amount so that the job was not delayed further only for the homeowners sake! Now I have to pay an insulation company to re-insulate the whole attic because of there lies! 4. Rapid Mold Removal's workers never show up on time and they never call the homeowner in advance to let them know when they're running late or not showing up. 5. They rented a vacuum which kept breaking down, most likely due to inexperience of their crew 6. Left large bags of insulation on the homeowner's driveway for about a week. 7. Their communication is terrible!! 8. Job was stopped for almost a week because supposedly the machine broke down on the last day. Angela whose in charge of customer service informed me that the real reason why the job was stopped is because the hose that attaches to the large vacuum is not long enough to make it to the area where the remaining insulation has to be removed. Now that the truth has finally come out they have decided to cut their losses by walking off the job and leaving us all stranded!! They refused to credit me anything since the job was not completed. 9. I paid my men to cut a large hole in 2 sections of the roof so that my men could climb inside the attic, bag all the insulation and take it out through the roof so that nothing gets dropped inside the interior of the home. This unnecessarily cost me an additional cost of $2000 more which should not have been done in the first place if they had finished their scope of work! 10. They stained the homeowners carpeting in several areas and they refuse to clean it or compensate the homeowners! 11. Damaged the ceiling in 2 different bedrooms that I paid my men to repair all the areas and paint. 12. Caused tremendous stress to myself and the homeowners!! 13. After all the damage and aggravation they created they had the nerve to charge my card in full without my permission even though the job was not even close to being done! Payments made to Rapid Mold Removal LLC was done by credit card which I have disputed with my bank. Not only is the payment of $2400.00 in dispute I am also holding them responsible for the cost of repairing the bedroom ceilings and the cost for the procedure to remove the remaining 30% - 40% of the insulation that was never removed. I called Rapid Mold Removal for an estimate. They promptly provided one at $995.00. We scheduled the work. When they went to my home to complete the work, they called me to tell me the price would now be $3,600.00. I told them NO WAY and to leave my property. Later that day they sent me a bill for $249.00 for "inspection fee OR Cancellation trip charge". I still don't know which of these descriptions they're billing me for. We never had any type of agreement, verbal or otherwise, for any sort of inspection fee. Since then, they have been harassing me at work place, they're also calling my cell phone, and they're sending tons of emails demanding payment and threatening to turn me into collections. Today they sent me two invoices, totaling $1,320.11! Apparently this is for the original estimate of $995.00 + the $249.00 - other fee + Interest. I have no idea how or why they've increased their charges. Also, I thought they were a local company as they only had their local phone number on their original estimate. Now I find out they're from Lansing, Michigan! They're not even required to be licensed with the Oregon Contractors Board! I feel powerless and now my credit could be affected by something I never even signed up for. I don't have this kind of money or I would just pay it to get them off my back and protect my credit. I called Rapid Mold Removal because I believed I had a mold problem, possibly in my crawl space. Jerome performed the inspection and I was told I did indeed have mold in the crawl space, on the walls and the vapor barrier. He contacted his company and I was given a price of $1,600 to treat the crawl space the next week. After he left, I texted him and asked for pictures of the affected areas, but he never responded. In the meantime, I contacted the company and asked again for pictures of the affected area and was told that "that is what we do. We take before and after pictures." I also asked for a written statement of work (SOW), that identified the affected areas, the square footage affected, how they were to be treated, of course, pictures. I was told that I would received the SOW, along with pictures, following the service. Jerome shows up for the service and I leave as I'm told to do. I receive my charge slip for the service on the date of the service, but no pictures and no SOW for services performed. So I called the company again and was told I would receive the SOW in a day or so. The SOW I received from this company could have been for ANY HOME. No square footage was mentioned, no affected areas, and only THREE "before" pictures of the exact same area, which were the floor joists, which had never been mentioned as an affected area. I again called the company and was sent a revised SOW that included square footage and nothing additional, and was told at that time that there were no additional photos. I had asked for photos three times prior to the service. I again called the company and was told a manager would call me back. Never happened and I had to again call them and spoke to a supposed manager, James. Surprisingly, they were able to find additional photos, after giving me a run around about the difficulty in downloading them from their techs' phones. But the "before" pictures are still all of the floor joists, no walls, no vapor barrier, and do not total the square footage I was told was affected. And there were NO additional "after" pictures. So, basically, they can't prove that the square footage of my crawl space they claimed to be affected with mold ever actually was affected or that they treated that area. Hired this company for a mold inspection, They came out did nothing!!!! I showed the tech the mold, he measured the spots and that's it!!! I got a piece of paper saying i had mold!! DUH, i you can see i have mold!!Over the phone they told me a moisture test was supposed to be done, it was NOT!! The company acknowledged this wasn't done and will not refund my money!! Chicago franchise (?) I have a part-time condo in Chicago. In April, 2018, my ice maker leaked and caused considerable damage to the kitchen wood flooring as well as mold on the walls behind the refrigerator and adjacent stove. I initially hired a flooring company to remove the damaged floor, but they would not remove the floor under the refrigerator or stove due to the wall and floor mold. I called Rapid Mold Removal for downtown (Lakeview) service. I emailed photos of the problem and inquired if they could remove the moldy flooring and possibly damaged drywall (due to mold intrusion). "Certainly, and looks like it will fall within the 100 sq. feet minimum charge of $995". I booked an appointment, as I am in California and was listing the unit for sale. The technician called me from the site and said "all done"...I asked if he had removed the remaining damaged wood floor... "NO, That's not on my work order". I immediately called their office to complain that all work was not completed. "I'll get back to you"... When they called back, they said it would be an additional $995 to complete the work. I blew my top! The manager said "you didn't give us an opportunity to rectify the problem". I informed her that I had called in and was told "an additional $995 to come back out"...I had my contractor go in, remove the wood flooring, remediate the mold, prime and paint the wall for $700. I disputed the $995 charge with my credit card and agreed to pay $295 (difference) for the limited work Rapid Mold Removal had done (which I considered to be GENEROUS). This company came to remediate mold from a leaky basement foundation wall. The only thing they did was scrub the mold off of the wall then paint it. They did nothing to stop the cause of the leak in the wall and charged a set fee no matter how much work they did. The kicker to the bad experience was when i gave them a check for the job that i was not happy with, they cashed the check twice!!!!! Some how they photo copied the check and changed the check number and my bank accepted it twice. Had i not kept a close eye on my bank account they would have been paid twice for a horrible job. This company is a ripoff!! Called to have mold removed from a kitchen leak. They told me they would test the mold, then use protective gear, barrier to prevent spores from traveling throughout residents apartment, who was highly allergic, and air scrubbers to catch anything that did escape while removing the mold. They gave me a price of no more than $500.00. They emailed a warranty for 3 years. When the employee showed up to do the work he was wearing shorts and a t shirt along with socks and shoes, but no protective gear. I asked him to install the protective barrier which fell on the floor, I then asked if he was going to wear protective gear and he said it was not necessary. Then he proceeded to spray a chemical called sporicidin. It s a chemical that kills mold. Then he said he was finished. I made him at least remove a little molded insulation and asked about all the other mold on the walls and he said he did not need to because of the spray he used killed it. I told him this was a ripoff and I was told he would remove the mold. He left the property without doing any mold removal. The next day I had a woman from their home office In Lansing, Michigan call for payment. I told her of the issue, and said, I refused to pay the bill because nothing was done, like they said it would be. She told me that this was not the first time she had heard the same story, and said she did not blame me for not paying. A few days later I received another call from a different woman named Jackie, who asked for payment. When I told her of the problem, she said they still provided a service and they expected payment. I asked to speak to a supervisor, and she said she would have one call me. I received a call from their supervisor named Ashley, and she told me that they did provide a service and they expected payment. I told her the job was not done as they stated it would be, and I refused to pay $500.00 for a chemical to be sprayed. My resident was highly allergic, and this needed to be rectified or no payment. She said she would take $200.00 but I said that was not enough. I refused to pay. A few months past and then I receive a letter in the mail stating they were going to file a mechanics lien on my property if the bill of $700.00 minus the $200.00 wasn't paid. (apparently anyone can file a lien for $25.00, even if there was not a signed contract). This company is a complete rip off and do not do anything they say they will do. If you want to pay $700.00 for a chemical that cost about $20.00 dollars, that you can buy your self on the internet, then call this company. BEWARE!! You will get ripped off!! Biggest mistake you can make if you find mold in your house is call Theresa at Rapid Mold Removal. And please, do not believe this line she will feed you over the phone, "The owners are in a meeting but will call you back immediately to talk about how we can help." They never did! The said part is three different types of mold were present in the house I was renting May 31. I immediately called the landlord. Sadly, on June 1, the landlord sent a home inspector over, not qualified in mold, and said it was not mold. So, I took three samples and contacted Mold Pro-Lab in Florida. I got my results in less than two weeks- MOLD! On June 14, I contacted Rapid Mold Removal to have someone come out at look at the mold, do an air quality test. Theresa called to state they would be at my house between 2-4 p.m. June 15. I waited between 1-5 p.m., and yet, no one should up, no one called. When I called Rapid Mold Removal for answers and for someone to help with all the mold, Theresa said her owners and the company wanted no part in helping- yet I had developed allergic reactions, such as hay fever, dry coughing and asthma symptoms. When I begged Rapid Mold Removal to please help for my health and I would pay upfront before the test, and still I got told, "no". Though I had the results from Pro-Lab in my hand. June 19, two young men from Rapid Mold showed up at my house to do an air quality test. I expressed to them what had occurred with their bosses and Theresa and they were sorry, and would do everything in their power to help me if I would have their help. As of June 19, (today is 6/27) I still have not received a call with the air quality results, but, the Mold guys confirmed all three types of mold I received from Pro-Lab, and found more mold the home inspectors never saw. Long story short- Never call, never hire. Though the young men were wonderful, Rapid Mold Removal is only in it for the money- they DO NOT care about your health and a healthy livelihood. read more

if i could give less than 1 star i would. came from out of town and made an appointment to meet with inspector. paid for extra hotel night just to meet with this company. waited the next morning within the 2 hour window at property waiting the the call ahead phone call which never came, no one showed up. then i called the office and they said they could not come out because they did not know the area or where the house was. they said they sent an email but it bounced back..... they could have at least picked up the phone and made a call or left a voicemail. VERY POIR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! i was able to make an appt with another reputable company which came out quickly and on time...in fact they were early!!! they could teach these guys a things or two on customer service. read more
