I did everything by the book, cancelled my membership when I was supposed to, but was hit with a 85 Euro fee 1 year after I had cancelled my membership, for a "service fee" for the year, which was not communicated to me as I had moved address after I quit my membership. I called to explain the situation, and how I received no letters or any form of communication to pay this fee, but I was still happy to pay the original fee of 29,90. But their customer service was absolutely terrible, and are forcing me to pay 85 euros simply for the fact that I changed my address AFTER I had quit my contract and not told them. The contract included my mobile phone number, which hasn't changed for about 10 years, and they did not feel that it was necessary at any point to contact me via phone or any other form of contact. Nor did they mention any extra fees or charges when I went to cancel my contract. They left me thinking that I had paid off everything I needed to, until they played a very sneaky, unfair move to draw even more money from me. I had quit my contract and had no intention of returning to the gym, paid off all the debts they had told me about initially and so left NOTHING outstanding when I left. Only to be hit with a 85 euro charge more than 1 year after I quit the gym. This is absolutely terrible terrible communication and service from this gym and I highly recommend you pick another gym to start your membership with.

Unfortunately we didn't even go there because a single drop-in fee is either 25€ per person which is 10 euro more than the regular drop-in fee or a T-Shirt for 30 €. They offered us eventually a drop-in for 20€ but it's still more expensive than the other boxes. I understand running a box isn't easy and we all need to profit to survive. But this makes me feel that it's just for ripping off visitors since we probably won't be their longterm members. Overall I'd simply say this box is just not visitor-friendly considering the overpriced drop-in fees.

Januar 2026 wurde ich gegen 17:00 Uhr im Fitness First Studio am Gendarmenmarkt von einem Mitarbeiter namens "Franz" öffentlich und vor allen Anwesenden wegen meiner angeblich "zu engen" Sportkleidung angesprochen, obwohl ich ruhig trainierte, niemanden störte und regelkonforme Sportkleidung trug. Mir wurde unterstellt, man könne meine Genitalien erkennen. Gleichzeitig trainierten zahlreiche andere Personen im Studio mit sehr enger Kleidung: Männer mit engen Tights sowie Frauen mit extrem anliegenden Leggings oder sehr kleinen Sportoberteilen, teilweise vergleichbar mit einem BH, bei denen sich Körperformen deutlich abzeichneten - ohne jegliche Beanstandung. Unabhängig davon ist der Vorwurf mir gegenüber objektiv falsch. Meine Kleidung war nicht eng. Ich trug eine lockere graue Sporthose, kurz oberhalb des Knies, sowie ein locker geschnittenes, braunes ärmelloses Sportshirt. Es handelte sich eindeutig um weite, nicht anliegende Sportkleidung. Ich stelle mir daher eine berechtigte Frage: Hätte dieser Mitarbeiter eine der zahlreichen Frauen im Studio wegen ihrer Kleidung in derselben Weise öffentlich angesprochen, hätte sie ihn mit Recht des Sexismus beschuldigt. Wenn man mir gegenüber jedoch identisch vorgeht - wie ist dieses Verhalten dann zu bewerten? Gleichbehandlung scheint hier offensichtlich nicht zu gelten. Auf meine Nachfrage nach konkreten Bekleidungsregeln konnte mir keine verbindliche Regel genannt werden. Stattdessen wurde ich in einem arroganten und übergriffigen Tonfall indirekt aufgefordert, das Studio zu verlassen. Zusätzlich äußerte der Mitarbeiter falsche Behauptungen, ich hätte bereits in anderen Studios Probleme gehabt - eine unwahre und diffamierende Aussage. Ich habe aufgrund der Situation die Polizei kontaktiert. Mir wurde dort ausdrücklich empfohlen, wegen dieser Form der Diskriminierung eine formelle Anzeige beim zuständigen Gericht zu erstatten. Die Anwälte meiner Familie sind inzwischen mit dem Fall befasst und werden die notwendigen rechtlichen Schritte einleiten. Ich werde diesen Vorfall zudem an die Presse und weitere Medien weitergeben. Dieser Vorfall war für mich psychisch belastend und stellt einen klaren Fall von Machtmissbrauch und Verletzung der persönlichen Würde dar. Mein Vertrauen in Fitness First ist nachhaltig beschädigt.

And to top it all off, they deleted my previous review -- silencing my voice instead of addressing the feedback. Holmes Place doesn't care about you as a person. All of the scheduling is done through an online portal, (what is the deal with Germans wanting you to call to schedule an appointment...seriously) and are conducted in German or English. This was a godsend for me as I was not sure if I could manage enough German to get through an entire session on a reformer. Happily, Arianne is a California girl who can switch between the two languages seamlessly.
