I went here for my first time yesterday. It was a Tuesday in mid-July from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m…read more When I arrived, there was a long line waiting to get in. I think it's because you have to stop and pay at the front desk so that created a bit of a bottleneck. Let's start with the things that I liked. 1. There are a lot of bathrooms so you don't have to wait. 2. The lifeguards are very on top of things and I even saw someone get rescued while I was there. 3. There are shade sails, providing shade over the chairs. 4. There are four different pool areas to choose from. 5. They play music out loud (but you can't hear it on the small kiddo side over all the screaming). Now here are the things I think they can improve on. 1. Plant some trees so that you have some natural shade over the grass. There are not enough chairs in the shade for everyone. 2. Offer some vegan options in the café area. 3. Let people use parasols. I don't want skin cancer so I use a parasol every time I'm in the sun and they would not let me hold my parasol in the pool areas. I thought it was a little too loud and all the kids splash water at you which I don't like either, but that's to be expected. I mean, I'm going to a place designed for children so there's nothing I can do about that. It really is a very fun place for children if your kiddos don't get overstimulated in loud and crowded spaces. There are two diving boards at different heights, an obstacle course for older kids, and waterslides for most ages (there's a height requirement).

Lookout parking near the fields though. You can possibly have a ball hit your car. There's warning signs displayed by these areas and common sense will help too. There's a beautiful soccer field and parking near that too. This parking has an awning and provides shade. There's also bathrooms and what I Iove is that there is an AED machine right outside of the bathrooms in case of an emergency. Check out this beautiful park. It's a great place for a walk and to be in nature.

Machado Dairy Park is a nice little park for the nearby housing community…read more We were on our daily walk and we needed to add a few extra steps so we crossed the street on our way to Franklin High when we discovered this little gem! We saw a few people shooting hoops. There were a few families with their toddlers playing on the playground. A few were enjoying the sunshine with a book! It also has a small parking lot. You can enjoy the picnic area as well. It does have a walking pathway. Oh! I didn't check out the restroom, it has one.

This park or recreation center is huge ! It sits on 21 beautiful Acres right next to Stone Lake Elementary School. This is one of Elk Groves Park and Recreation Premier Parks in Lakeside. The park is a perfect fit for the active life style of today's family. With 3 large baseball / softball diamonds / soccer field / tennis courts / 2 large covered gazebos for parties , barbecues, / a kids playground / clean restrooms / and a 40 car parking lot. The sport complex is very clean and well maintained. A perfect gathering place the whole family . Whether your into sports or not this park has something for almost everyone . The one star deduction was for all the traffic around the park. Being next to an elementary school can get a little crazy when school gets out . Over all a 4 star performance !

Always generally pretty quiet off a side road it feels pretty safe Activities: This park has a lot of different activities for families. Two tennis courts, basketball and two play areas. There's a basketball court, a walkway/walking path, grassy areas, a little creek runs through the back of the park, and there's also a couple of play areas/structures. Overall, it's a nice little park and when we were there, we saw it used quite a bit by kids having fun/playing, as well as adults getting exercise. It was even a bit crowded as it's pretty popular in the neighborhood. The only thing we really did not like is the phone tower disguised as a redwood tree right there in a corner of the park. That's probably not a good thing to have right at a park.

One of the best upgrades is how much bigger and more thoughtfully laid out it feels now. There are clearly different sections for little kids and older kids, with tons of varied playground structures. Because everything is spread out, it never feels overcrowded--even on busy afternoons. The shaded awning area is also a really smart addition. I've seen families use it for birthday parties, and it's the kind of detail that makes the park feel community-friendly rather than just a playground. They also redid the basketball court, which looks great, and added a permanent cornhole setup nearby. It's nice seeing spaces where both kids and adults can hang out and actually play something together instead of just sitting on benches. But my personal favorite spot is right near the entrance by Town Hall--the rose garden. When the roses are blooming, it's absolutely stunning, and the smell when you walk through is incredible. Tucked right there is a little Little Free Library nook, which has turned into one of my favorite small rituals. My daughter and I will stop there before or after the playground to drop off a book or see what new reads we can find. It's such a sweet little moment that makes the park feel even more like a neighborhood gathering place. Helpful tip: If you visit in the late afternoon, the shade from the awning and nearby trees makes it much more comfortable, and that's also when the rose garden smells the strongest. Between the upgraded playground, the sports areas, and the beautiful rose garden entrance, this park somehow manages to feel both lively and peaceful at the same time--and that's a rare combo.

This park is 6.2 acres in size and was completed in the year 1992. Built in the planned community of West Laguna, Town Square Park is pretty much known only to local residence. Some of the amenities of the park are : picnic area with two picnic tables, one half basketball court, a community garden with benches, trail access, several large open spaces for multi-purpose use and a small play area for kids. Park users can park in the Laguna Town Hall Parking Lot or on residential streets near-by. The grass is green and the park is well maintained ! Great park to relax after a long morning walk!

Named after Hilma Colton whom started out teaching from a one room schoolhouse in Wildwood California , then Davis for 4 years to finally ending her teaching career at Elk Grove High School. She was instrumental in the formation of the Community Service Organization , which helps needy student get educational scholarships. Hilma Colton Park has a large open area for mult-purpose area, paved walkways, covered picnic area with picnic tables, plus 2 play structures. One for the younger children, and the other for the older ones. Both have slides, swings, and climbing structures. This park is well maintained and is perfect for family fun and relaxation.

There's parking and a tip is to park under the solar panels. There's plenty of shade all day! The bathrooms are okay. They get the job done. When I went, only 1 out of the 3 soaps were filled and just a heads up, there's no paper towels. The snack bar opened up later in the afternoon by the softball fields when I attended. We were able to set up a nice picnic under shade near the soccer field. Overall, I highly recommend this park. I didn't even get to explore all of it and I cannot wait to come back to do so.
