Cold press juice is sooo 2014. This year it's all about Mylk. "Huh?" you say? We're talking nut and…read moreseed milks here people. Not just almond, but cashew, sunflower and peanut varieties too! How does a carob and black tahini mylk sound? Or a spiced almond and cashew milk with the added super powers of cacao and maca (who cares what the health properties are, it's damn delicious!) Juice Bureau is run by the Argo crew up the road, and they seem to know what they're doing. Their trendy and tiny little shop has a flower ceiling and good looking healthy staff who can tell you the ins and outs of each of their nut mylks, and juices. There's dozens of styles to choose from, but I was particularly impressed that they have a number of sugar free options, including some sweetened with rice malt syrup rather than the usual dates, which isn't so great for people like me who try and avoid fruit sugar as much as possible. The packaging is stylish and you can try loads of flavours before deciding on your choice. They'll also organise a one day juice cleanse package if you're feeling like you need to rid your body of the evils of too much booze and rich food. Or, you know, if you just want to feel extra virtuous by sucking down green juice six times a day.

Well, well, well! This was a nice surprise. This cold pressed juice coming to you from Argo and…read morewill give Pressed Juices a good run for their money. A delightful little store nestled amongst the busy Parade shopping district; Juice Bureau offers a great selection of cold pressed juices. Cold pressed juices are really amazing and so much more flavoursome than other kinds. They are reviving and if you are going for the greener kind, are giving your body what it needs in minerals and vitamins. The selection at this store is quite wide. Check out their menu to see what will soon be sold in this store. They are fairly new and are testing their series, but I see growth here, especially as a local producer. My favourite in this store by far has to be the Cherry Ripe. Fresh black cherries, cacao, almond milk & dates. In fact, I rather have this version than the bar kind! The store is decorated with a vast arrangement of flowers on the ceiling, just making it feel warm and inviting. You kind of want to just hang out in it for an hour or two trying all of the varieties of juices. But alas, the store is too small. I look forward to see their range and client base grow. This is a winner Argo!

22/122011 I know…read moresome people may be wondering why I'm doing a review on a juice bar, but I honestly think this is a good one to introduce to the out-of-towners visiting Adelaide CBD for the first time. One of the things that was missing in Adelaide 12 years ago were not restaurants, but somewhere to stop by to get cool refreshing drinks during your lunch break - I was pleasantly surprised when one of my best friends started regularly bringing me to Boost Juice..and we walked away satisfied. Thus - high praise to the one who thought of starting the first Boost Juice in Adelaide. My juice needed that boost. Their drinks menu is pretty easy to read and choose from: you can select one drink out of seven possible options: Juices (what kinda store would this be if it's name didn't include it's product!), Low-fat smoothies, Super smoothies, Skinny smoothies, Crushes, Wheatgrass, and Boosters. I always die for anything that has mango in it, so my eyes directly target their Mango Magic low-fat smoothie, which contains mango, fresh banana, mango nectar, TD4 low-fat vanilla yoghurt & ice . I even sometimes change it up to their 'Passion Mango'...but my best friend always seems to go for his own, and I do believe that there is a flavour for everyone here. With Adelaide's weather sometimes getting unpredictably hot, I will drink fluids like there's no tomorrow - so I was exceptionally pleased to be introduced to this juice bar. And there's the best toilets in Rundle Mall, it's only a quick walk past the David Jones Food Court to the left of the Boost juice bar :) 4 stars everytime! The only reason I won't give this a 5-star is because they have the usual Subway-like assembly line quick service, but that's expected from a busy juice bar like this one - I'll definitely go back on a hot summer afternoon!

The Champions is by far my favorite smoothie with the Bombora (if I remember it correctly) a very close second. The acai balls are second to none. If you love places like nutrition republic, or the organik store you will love this little super charged store! A very small menu and only one seat near the window means Bom Dia does not have a cafe vibe. They specialize in raw desserts, smoothies and acai bowls and will likely serve as take aways. Acai is a super food berry, and essentially the bowls are these berries in a gelati - sorbet - type form with fresh fruit, honey and varying condiments (usually granola and banana in particular). Overseas (eg Hawaii) people usually have this as a brekky but here you are able to have these delicious treats at any time of day, even as a dessert! The staff are super friendly here. Its a bit pricey but you won't find bowls like this anywhere else in adelaide..although the trend is starting to take off! The raw desserts are also worth checking out, as well as the pressed juice shots!

Let out your battle cry! This meal is not for the faint hearted and is about as manly as a BBQ can…read moreget. It only happens annually in the Garden of Unearthly Delights (February - March every year). So, if you have not tried it this year, get on down to the Garden quick smart before you miss out! Pigs on Fire originally started as a small set up a couple of years ago in the Garden. I remember when it was first set up you could smell the wafting smoke and BBQ pork throughout the whole park! It drew people to it. Like a cartoon, people floated in the air sniffing until they found the source of the hypnotic delicious smells. Now this BBQ is big and has it's own seating area and bar set up around it. It is an attraction in itself. The BBQ is set up Traditionally Dutch with large iron grills chained together in levels above a camp style fire. The fire looks to be lit with red gum for smokey flavour (but I could be wrong about the type of wood). The most entertaining part of the BBQ is watching the Chef's tilt, swirl and swing the BBQ grill over the fire to ensure that it stays lit and for even smoke distribution. Kind of like a BBQ swing. Also, I found it amusing the amount of gentlemen standing, watching and nodding at each other. As if to say, "Now that is how you BBQ!" As for the pork, well, if I could give it 10 stars I would. It is just something to be experienced. If you like smokey, salty and sweet porky flavours this is for you. I ordered the BBQ meats special. Like usual, I just want to try everything. So, out came a massive plate of meat! For me, a little girl, I was intimidated by my dinner! The only veggies on my plate was some lovely pickled onions and a piece of green cos lettuce (for colour I guess). My plate featured a sausage (with caraway, mustard seeds and beautiful seasoning), roast pork, pulled pork, seasoned crackling skin, and bread. Although this was a meat fest, it was a dreamy meat fest! Oh my, the crackling was the best I have ever tried; I could just eat a plate of it. Other options for those not wanting the mountain of meat, includes a pulled pork roll or a serving of roast pork/sausage, with smoked cauliflower, carrots and a creamy pearl barley side (kind of like a risotto). What I like about this BBQ is that it is a show as well as a meal. You can set yourself up at a table, enjoy amazing food and watch the boys cook it.
