Very interesting salads with unique dressings, most them couldn't tell what in the world made them taste so good. Helsinki proved to be awesome and to not copy Norway, Sweden, and Denmark. Finland borders Russia on the East side which might be why their foods are so different and yet so delectable. Would be better to visit when the weather is warmer with some sunshine. There are all types of clienteles here and you pay right when you arrive, get your plate, grab your food from the buffet line and seat whereever the table is free. Pretty casual and stress free...and the staff there do run like a well-oiled machine. They clear thr empty plates and clean the tables, and refill the food in tje buffet line as much as they can. The buffet line has a section for vegetarian and regular hot meal food. There's also a separate corner to grab your own tea/coffee as you wish, too. For ~€12 and quality all you can eat lunch...this is a very very good deal! I did try everything from the buffet line and they all tasted fresh! I had 2 full plates and a cup of tea..and didn't feel bloated after eating so much afterwards at all. If I had time to come back to Helsinki again, I would definitely want to have lunch here again. I debated goinf back there again my last day in Helsinki but unfortunately didn't have enough time to go back there...else I would be back there again! My understanding is that they have a very wide selection of wines, so if you are interested in choosing yourself you can probably find something interesting. So why 4 stars and not 5? As someone else also wrote, although the food is superb it's not really memorable. I can probably only name 3-4 dishes out of all the dishes I have had there. I've also come to notice that some of the dishes are repeated if you go there again within 1-2 months. That's been a bit disappointing. But Muru is a superb place where you really get value for money and I definitely recommend it.

I loved his wine selections as pairings but if you go and love wine, ask to see the handwritten list. It is crazy for being so far in the frozen north. The owner keeps them stacked in his office and only for those willing to ask. Go here for excellent takeaway coffee, but go somewhere else if you intend to sit down for a more pleasurable, customer-focused experience. Kuuma = great takeout coffee, but not worth a stay.

For €12.50, you can sample as much cake as you want from their cake case, which had 15 types of cake. I was determine to sample all, but only made it to 9. My favorite surprisingly was their Laku-Sitruuna (salted licorice & lemon) cake. I found the flavors interesting and balanced. It's a great cake for those that don't like sweet desserts. Overall, I found most of their fruity cakes to be light in texture. The chocolate was delicious as well. If I had to choose a cake I didn't care for, it would be the mocha. I thought it was fine but it didn't impress me like some of the other slices I sampled. In addition, the cake buffet gives you a choice of either coffee or tea. If you want a refill, it will cost you extra. I didn't realize it when I asked for a coffee refill, but it's only just €1 extra. Not too bad.
