Rawah Ranch knows how to make it all about you! Relaxing and unwinding is key to recharging your batteries. This place is a piece of Colorado Cool. Family ran with a little something for everyone be it Orvis endorsed fly fishing with exclusive private waters and instructors or world class Horseback riding with the one of a kind breathtaking trails only Colorado has and a new one in each direction for a new ride each day. Hiking trails are on property and just plain hanging out is a must. The food is inclusive and exceptional as both the head wrangler and the chef make a personal visit to each and everyone to find your personal wants and needs for the next day followed by the chef to let you know he has an afternoon cooking class. Individual Cabins make it personable. What a place! When you leave, you will measure your other vacations against your stay here. Just go! read more

I cannot say enough about my experience at this ranch. The managers were gracious and friendly, as was the entire staff. The cabins and beds are very comfortable, food was first class prepared by an experienced and talented chef, horses were well-cared-for and the fly fishing guide was amazing. This was a first class vacation, if only for three days. Clearly the best three days this year! read more

Rawah Ranch is the BEST. It's easy to get to from Denver Airport (or Laramie), the drive is spectacular, and the ranch itself, feels like home - without having to cook or clean - YAY. I just did a last minute trip and they couldn't have been kinder. We got in 3 days of fishing, I learned to trot on my horse. We had moose outside our cabin and the food and staff were lovely. I don't want to recommend too highly, because I like that it is my best kept secret. Meg and Tim run the joint and they have put together a great experience for us city slickers. I will be back for the 5th time, very soon. read more

We had an absolutely wonderful vacation at Rawah Ranch. It is a truly a special place. The setting was more beautiful than we even expected and we could not stop taking amazing photos of the mountains, valley and Laramie River. We loved our cabin which was tastefully decorated in the appropriate ranch style with plenty of storage space and a spacious separate room for the kids. The food was amazing! Chef Ford blew us away at each meal and we were truly spoiled & stuffed. The ranch activities were a blast! We had wonderful personal attention and they were open to customizing our activities to what we were looking for daily. We rode horses daily and felt our assigned horses were perfectly matched to each of us. Our riding improved so much and the wranglers were all amazing with their knowledge and instruction. They had a fun evening activity arranged for us too. Aside from the amazing setting, the delicious food, the fun activities, the well-cared for horses, the comfortable & charming accomodation, the most impressive thing about Rawah was the awesome staff/people who run it. We have never experienced such fun, attentive, inclusive, considerate people on vacation and we had such a wonderful time because of all of them. We cannot wait to come back! read more

History
Established in 1950.
The historic Rawah Wilderness To the mountain tribe of Ute Indians, Rawah was the word for abundance. Nestled at 8,400 feet, just south of the Wyoming border and neighboring the snowcapped peaks of the rugged Rawah Wilderness, Rawah Ranch occupies a magical setting in the still undiscovered Big Laramie River valley. The railroad companies set our Ranch legacy in motion when our 26th President Theodore Roosevelt signed the deed of trust for the land Rawah Ranch occupies as a part of a land acquisition. A short while later, our valley was encompassed into what would become the Roosevelt National Forest. With the passage of the Wilderness Act in 1964, our Rawah Wilderness area was preserved indefinitely. In 1948, a gentleman by the name of Ralph Jordan had the great foresight to establish Rawah Ranch, not as a cattle ranch, but as a premier place for guests to simply visit - stay in warm and comfortable accommodations, enjoy hearty meals and take in the experience of the surrounding

An absolute treasure of a place with an authentic and rustic ranch atmosphere. Our four children ages 6, 9, 13, and 16 all found their own forms of paradise in hiking, riding, fishing, shooting, archery, hatchet tossing, the tiney hiney farm of playful farm animals as well as many other special activities that are not listed on their website. If you have an idea; the team is game to make it happen and everyone has a can-do attitude and are always ready to join in. Come with an appetite as they will feed you three very full meals and plenty of it. Each evening you let them know your desired activities and if you change your minds, they do their best to accommodate you. After an evening there, you feel like family with the team on site and you find yourself sharing stories without end. If you fly fish; expect a treat of nice sized trout right at your backdoor right on the ranch or give the greyling a shot at the amazing John Wright Reservoir where the fish are in throngs from the stream into the lake. read more

We had 8 family members spanning 3 generations. There was something for everyone and we had a great time. Comfortable yet rustic. Excellent food. Good horses and outstanding fly fishing. What's not to like? Most appreciated was Emily, the kids activities supervisor, who was excellent. But then, all the staff was very good. If you can handle the mountain driving to get there, it's a superb destination. read more

We had a fabulous time at Rawah. The Ranch hands were so helpful and always on hand to haul bags, tack horses and accommodate any requests. The food was equivalent to a 5 star restaurant which was appreciated after a day in the saddle. Great horses, Meg and Tim the managers were terrific. Can't wait to return for another week at the Ranch! read more
