It's always a great experience when visiting Ray Supply. Whether they have what I'm looking for or not (they almost always do), it's definitely worth stopping in. I'm sure this store is great at some things. But get your passport photos elsewhere! In a fit of social consciousness, I decided to get my passport photos done at a local business. The woman who took them told it would take a couple of days--most places do passport photos instantly, but I was trying to be generous, and I had time so I decided this would be fine. They took the photos, and told me it would cost $25 for two. Passport photos are usually less than half this price, but the photos had already been taken, so it didn't seem like I had an opportunity to say I didn't want them anymore. I left the store feeling like an idiot, and wishing that I'd just gone to the post office. When I went to pick up the photos I got four passport photos, not two. When I asked if I'd been double charged (because $12.50 for two passport photos would almost have been a reasonable price), I was told that they always give complimentary photos in case the photos are cut wrong. If I'd known I'd be getting double, I'd have asked for one photo not two. And the photos weren't cut at all. There were 4 passport sized images on two 4x6 sheets of photo paper. I think it's fair to assume when you ask for passport photos, you'll actually get individual 2x2 pre-cut photographs. I told the manager that $25 was very high relative to prices elsewhere for passport photos, and she told me that I should check the prices of other "photo studios." Nothing that this woman did was any different than what an employee at a drug store or the post office would have done. It wasn't a glamour shot or a school portrait. There was no special lighting or fancy camera/tripod setup. It was a passport photo, taken with a digital camera, against a white wall, in a weird hallway behind the store's showroom. I know it's just $15 dollars, but it sucks to spend it on nothing. read more

I went to Ray Supply to buy a camera today (you can even see my last review in 2015). Today I would have to say I wouldn't buy from Ray Supply again. I looked up the the camera I wanted a few days ago, and it said "In Store Only" and listed the price. I checked again last night, same thing, so I went down this morning, looked around, not a camera under $450. So I asked about the camera I wanted, they don't have them, and they don't offer them. When I explained that I saw them on the website, I was told by the employee, can't remember if his name was Tim or Tom, that "Yeah, the website is misleading". Misleading? That's how you do business now? I miss the Ray Supply that I had been going to off and on for 20 years, it hasn't been the same since Bill quit, who used to do be able to answer and deal with all the camera stuff. The guy I spoke to today said he could probably order the camera, really, no kidding, I could have done that too. I just wished their website wasn't so "misleading" that I had to buy my camera from a big box store. From now on I will buy my photo stuff elsewhere and remember Ray Supply fondly as it was, not as it is now, because it's nothing like the business it used to be. read more

Went to Ray Supply last week at the recommendation of a friend. We were looking for a camera for our 15 year old who has developed a interest in photography. Just writing to say the trip was worth while. the salesman took the time to explain to my son about the cameras and involved my son in the purchase process. Price was the same as everywhere I checked and the experience was great. My son just got done showing me some photos he took with the new camera and it reminded me to write this. read more
